Bug#829158: python-sympy should not conflict with python-gmpy2

2016-06-30 Thread Anthony Towns
Package: python-sympy
Version: 1.0-1
Severity: normal

Hi,

In sympy 0.7.5-2 a Conflicts: python-gmpy2 was added to the python-sympy
package to avoid an error in isympy reported in Bug#730975.

This error no longer seems to occur -- presumably due to mpmath having
better special casing:

] $ head -n306 /usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/mpmath/libmp/libintmath.py |
tail -n7
] if BACKEND == 'gmpy':
] if gmpy.version() >= '2':
] isqrt_small = isqrt_fast = isqrt = gmpy.isqrt
] sqrtrem = gmpy.isqrt_rem
] else:
] isqrt_small = isqrt_fast = isqrt = gmpy.sqrt
] sqrtrem = gmpy.sqrtrem

So I think the Conflicts: line should just be removed at this point.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers,
aj

Bug#829152: liblapack3: misses Breaks: liblapack3gf

2016-06-30 Thread Andreas Beckmann
Package: liblapack3
Version: 3.5.0-5
Severity: serious
User: debian...@lists.debian.org
Usertags: piuparts

Hi,

during a test with piuparts I noticed again some error:

octave3.0: error while loading shared libraries: liblapack.so.3gf: cannot
open shared object file: No such file or directory

With the removal of the liblapack.so.3gf slave symlink the transitional
package liblapack3gf became unusable, therefore please add an unversioned
Breaks against it. Otherwise old stuff needing liblapack.so.3gf may stay
installed (because the dependencies are still satisfied), but will be no
longer usable.
(In my case, after a long upgrade path from lenny I ended up with both
liblapack3gf (3.5.0-4) and liblapack3 (3.6.0-2) installed as well as
octave3.0 and something using octave3.0 in its maintainer scripts.)

I'm waiting for further actions/emails from Adam for all the others,
though.

This package fails to build with GCC 6. GCC 6 has not been released
yet, but it's expected that GCC 6 will become the default compiler for
stretch.

Note that only the first error is reported; there might be more. You
can find a snapshot of GCC 6 in experimental. To build with GCC 6,
you can set CC=gcc-6 CXX=g++-6 explicitly.

You may be able to find out more about this issue at
https://gcc.gnu.org/gcc-6/changes.html
