Yep... it works like a charm on my SS20 with the 8MB VSIMM... 24-bit and
all... just a little slow for my taste, but it works.

Might want to try the XF 4.0.1 xserver. It's a huge improvement for my
 creator card.

i have an ultra1 with a Creator card, for the moment i am using
xserver-xsun24 (3.3.6-11) and i dont find a 4.0.1 xsun24 in woody ? i can
see a xserver-xfree86 4.0.1-5 package though.

but on http://www.xfree86.org/4.0.1/RELNOTES3.html#19 there it says the new
server for creator cards is 'sunffb' but i cant find that one in woody.

That would be impressive considering how much better the Creator 3D on
my Ultra 1/170E performs over the cg14 on my SS20 2xSM71... but sure,
I'll give it a whirl soon. :)

Anybody tried debian on a Sparcstation 20 with Quad 100MHz CPU's and the
24Bit upgrade for the onboard FB? Does it work, and does it run 24Bit
Color, or 32Bit Color?

I'm pretty sure the xsun24 server (XF 3.3.6) or the XF 4.0.1 sun server

I've never tries SMP on a sun4m, but from what I hear, your chances are
pretty good :)

indeed. 2.2.17-SMP package on my dual SM40 SS10 works like a charm.

I have two dual-processor sun4m machines (SS10 w/2xSM61 and SS20
w/2xSM71) and both are pretty solid...
