Cambiar de distribucion con kexec
Buenas, supongamos un disco duro repartido de esta forma sda1, swap sda2, debian squeeze (por poner un ejemplo) sda3, ubuntu (por poner un ejemplo) Leyendo sobre kexec he encontrado esto http://linux.die.net/man/8/kexec La idea es, si estoy en sda2 y quiero cambiar a sda3, usar kexec. Las lineas: kexec -l /boot/vmlinux --append=root=/dev/hda1 --initrd=/boot/initrd kexec -e las he adaptado y me funcionan pero me salta el programa busybox de ubuntu: kexec -l /mnt/ubuntu/boot/vmlinux --append=root=/dev/hda1 --initrd=/mnt/ubuntu/boot/initrd Los directorios dentro de root llamados dev, sys y proc, han sido creados manualmente dentro de /root Y claro, una vez en ubuntu, el tema de como apagarlo y volver a debian. attachment: 2linux.png

Instalar drivers Nvidia

Estoy usando debian squeeze Yoandy En la página de nvidia dice para esa versión: Improved compatibility with recent Linux kernels. Pero no especifica a qué kernel se refiere, es de agosto 2011. Qué opciones hay? Tal vez actualizar a un kernel 2.6.38 tal vez... y en el peor de los casos volver a un kernel anterior. Saludos, Resulta que he probado el «nouveau» pero tampoco me ha servido, sobre los requerimientos si los tengo, de todas maneras cuando llegue a la casa revisaré de nuevo, lo que no tengo claro es la versión 6.7 que hablan del Xorg. La idea en si misma es cambiar de distribucion, debian y ubuntu son ejemplos. En efecto, lo que he visto por internet no aclara ese concepto del todo. ¿Los kernels deben ser de la misma distribucion o es posible que sean de distinta?. La primera linea de kexec especifica el kernel, el archivo initrd y la particion donde esta el nuevo root (/dev/sda3 en el ejemplo). Conseguido. No se si es la forma más adecuada de hacer esto, pero conseguido. El contenido de append debe estar entre comillas, quedando asi: --append=root=/dev/sda3 el resto de la línea no tiene cambios. Cito una linea de antes de Camaleón: (conste que he tenido que releer cuatro veces el mensaje...) pues... yo he tenido que repetir el proceso cinco veces antes de poder creerme que esto funciona. Parece que para volver a debian sería el mismo proceso pero a la inversa, aún no lo he comprobado. OT Virtualización y terminales tontas
Hola, A modo de consulta y buscando la opinion de los interesados más aun de aquellos que ya sepan del tema y pueda orientar un poco, necesito implementar un servidor (con debian) el cual se encargara de manejar en forma virtual los windows que creare virtualizados para una cantidad de 30 maquinas que necesito sean terminales tontas, me he documentado un poco respecto al tema, pero recurro a ustede buscando orientación, opiniones y documentación adicional que pueda servir para mi proposito, la idea es tener 30 maquinas que son terminales tontas para los disntintos lo locales de atención a cliente que tengo y que trabajaran sobre un servidor con debian donde pretendo virtualizar los desktop para dichas terminales.
