Hi,

Could you please gb ns3 on mips and mipsel? It seems the previous
build was failed because of lacking memory...

No, s390 does not have more than 2G of vmem per process.

so 2GB... sounds like should be enough

isn't that just one of possibilities why it could be killed? (dmesg
could help to say it for sure but otherwise I would stay open for
alternatives: /etc/security/limits.conf lists quite a few ;) )

That is true but here it fails at compile time ... sure thing someone
could abuse C++ templates too much but probably it is not the case
here...

meanwhile I will just wait for reply from release team either it is
worthwhile spending more time atm on these 2 packages

and the sign is worrisome regarding my ability to overcome the problem:

"virtual memory exhausted: Cannot allocate memory"

that was on zappa -- is there any other build box with more VMEM avail?

> For mipsel, -3 also failed with the same error.

it might indeed be a memory issue but message was a bit different:

https://buildd.debian.org/status/fetch.php?pkg=ants&arch=mipsel&ver=1.9.2%2Bsvn680.dfsg-3&stamp=1331621632
c++: internal compiler error: Killed (program cc1plus)

or am I looking at incorrect spot?

> You might want to

yeah -- would be "fun"... I am afraid though that it might not replicate
(I think I even committed a crime ones for ants or openmeeg by manual bin
upload after having it built on one of the porter boxes). but ok -- will
request access for ants on mipsel...

> For mips, -3 also failed with the same error/test. Same remark as
> for mipsel.

;-)

but so far it just looks like insufficient resources on all of them...

may be I should first check with the release team first either they would
reinstate both openmeeg and ants in wheezy if these FTBFS would get resolved...
otherwise it would be a pain for nothing

fair enough ;)

eh -- in openmeeg that "failing" test generates data for other tests to
use. So disabling it == disabling tests. For ants -- that is already a
custom selection of relatively lightweight tests.

so -- I will just disable testing on mips for both and reupload (thus
triggering builds across all other platforms again :-/)

2012-07-05 Thread Mehdi Dogguy

On 03/07/12 02:54, Yaroslav Halchenko wrote:

Reasoning:

there also were FTBFS on powerpc and kfreebsd-i386 with various obscure signs
-- they completed just fine now. So to not waste admin's time (and mine) in
setting up the build env and chasing the ghost, it would be great if we could
try another build run before getting hands dirty. It builds otherwise fine
across all other ports

but you can't compare ppc and kfreebsd-i386 on this. openmeeg has been
failing to build on mips since a few revisions almost in the same test
(or not far). Please investigate on a porter box or disable some "big"
tests on slow architectures.

I'm not sure that giving back ants on s390 would bring anything good. It
has been failing to build there since a few revisions.

For mipsel, -3 also failed with the same error. You might want to
investigate the ICE on a porter box and/or try a difference compiler.

For mips, -3 also failed with the same error/test. Same remark as for
mipsel.
