Bug#237538: Intent to adopt this package

2004-04-02 Thread Grzegorz B. Prokopski
Hi,

Sure, I can sponsor you, but standard conditions apply: that is, you
have to be willing to become a DD and you have to start the NM process.

If you need an advocate, I can do it, but I need some more informations
about yourself and, if possible, to take a look at some of your packages
(can be unofficiall).

I promise to send replies more promptly :-)

Cheers,

Grzegorz B. Prokopski

PS: Please drop Cc: to debbugs and infinity on next replies.

 Hello,

I have been privately maintaining this package, and I think it would make
 sense
to share the results. I am not a DD (yet?) but hope to accomplish this through
 sponsoring.

 Cheers,
 Remco Seesink.

 P.S. I am looking for a sponsor :)

Description : PDF printer backend for CUPS

CUPS-PDF provides a PDF Writer backend to CUPS. It can be used to provide
a virtual printer to a paperless network or to perform testing on CUPS.
 .
The optional Gnome package gnome-cups-manager is capable of auto-detecting
this backend as a suitable printer and to offer to install it for you.

I have already been maintaining a Debian package of this for quite some time at
my own package repository, with the
upstream author's blessing. The package is currently built using CDBS and it
passes all Lintian tests.

What I need is someone to exchange my GPG key with, in the Helsinki area, so
that I can apply for Debian developer
status and actually bring this software (and a few others I have packaged) to
the Debian Project.

Somewhere a mistake came in (the package is correct, maybe the

make sure you know the copyright or the skins you include, and that they

skins and stuff are distributed without proper copyright and licence,
and can then of course not be included in debian.

Besides that, I'm looking forward to your package.

Bug#241748: ITP: mp3gain -- Lossless mp3 normalizer with statistical analysis

2004-04-02 Thread Stefan Fritsch
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: mp3gain
  Version : 1.4.3
Upstream Author : Glen Sawyer [EMAIL PROTECTED]
* URL : http://mp3gain.sourceforge.net/
* License : LGPL
Description : Lossless mp3 normalizer with statistical analysis

MP3Gain analyzes and adjusts mp3 files so that they have the same volume.
MP3Gain does not just do peak normalization, as many normalizers do. Instead,
it does some statistical analysis to determine how loud the file actually
sounds to the human ear. Also, the changes MP3Gain makes are completely
lossless. There is no quality lost in the change because the program adjusts
the mp3 file directly, without decoding and re-encoding. Also, this works
with all mp3 players, i.e. no support for a special tag is required.

pmacct is a tool designed to gather traffic information (bytes and number

you may want to look at net-acct, too:

which works very similar, judging from your cursory description.

I'm orphaning multi-gnome-terminal package now, because I
don't use it at this point, and I have no enough time to
maintain such package. presumably there might be the
appropriate DD than me to maintain this package.

Description is here:
Multi Gnome Terminal is an enhanced version of gnome-terminal which
 has the following features added:
 .
  - Many terminals in each window
  - Switch between terminals using shortcuts
  - Execution of user defined commands in new terminals
  - Notification of terminal states (changed, changing, unchanged)
using different tabs colors
  - Reorderable tabs
 .
All this extensions are inspired by screen and konsole (the KDE2
 terminal)

There is a problem with your bug report 240198 [0].

You should have changed the title of bug report 227258 [1] instead of
creating a new bug report.

Please merge bug reports 240198 and 227258.

The title of bug report 240198 should be:

ITA: atftp -- Advanced TFTP client

However, it has been set to RFA: atftp, wich doesn't correspond to
your intent to adopt (ITA) the package.

RFA, request for adoption, is used by the current package maintainer to
ask for somebody to adopt one of his/her packages.

To change the titles of both bug reports and merge them, send an email
to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the following subject (or something similar):

wnpp: merge and retitle 240198 227258 ITA: atftp -- Advanced TFTP client

and with the following five lines in the body of the message:

package wnpp
retitle 240198 ITA: atftp -- Advanced TFTP client
retitle 227258 ITA: atftp -- Advanced TFTP client
merge 227258 240198

You could put anything else after the fith line. For more information
see [2] and [3].

Bug#234048: multiple packages

2004-04-02 Thread Charles Fry
Just to be clear on this, my intent is to package all of the Bouncy
Castle libraries. The resulting Debian packages will be something like:

   libbcprov-jdk14-java
   libbcprov-jdk13-java
   libbcprov-jdk12-java

   libbcjce-jdk13-java
   libbcjce-jdk12-java

   libbcmail-jdk14-java
   libbcmail-jdk13-java

   libbcpg-jdk14-java
   libbcpg-jdk13-java
   libbcpg-jdk12-java

The details may change as I discuss this in the appropriate forums, I
just wanted to be sure that my intent to package all of the Bouncy
Castle libraries was clearly stated.
