Poser [EMAIL PROTECTED] * URL : http://www.cis.upenn.edu/~wjposer/msort.html * License : GPL Description : utility for sorting records in complex ways msort is a program for sorting files in sophisticated ways. It was originally developed for alphabetizing dictionaries of exotic languages, for which it has been extensively used, but is useful for many other purposes. msort differs from typical sort utilities in providing greater flexibility in parsing the input into records and identifying key fields and greater control over the sort order. Its main distinctive features are: * Msort can be used as a command-line program or via a graphical user interface that is helpful not only to those who find a complicated command line difficult to deal with but also to those unfamiliar with the finer points of sorting. * Records need not be single lines of text but may be delimited in a number of ways. * Key fields may be selected either by position in the record (counting from the beginning or the end) or by matching a regular expression to a tag. * For each key an arbitrary sort order may be specified. * For each key an effectively unlimited number of multigraphs (sequences of characters to be treated as a single unit for purposes of sorting) of effectively unlimited length may be defined. * In addition to the usual lexicographic and numerical orderings, msort supports sorting by date, time, and string length. * For each key a distinct set of characters may be excluded from consideration when sorting in any combination of initial, final, and medial position in the key field. * Lexicographic keys may be reversed, allowing the construction of reverse dictionaries. * Any or all keys may be optional. For optional keys, the user may specify how records missing the key field should compare to records in which the key field is present. msort understands UTF-8 Unicode. Unicode may be used anywhere that text is entered: in the text to be sorted, in sort order and exclusion definitions, as a field or record separator, or as a field tag. -BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE- Version: GnuPG v1.4.1 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFC7+LqhQui3hP+/EARAvygAJ4wj9WsxYMqmfIgekhRH+TZm44eGwCfTs3u 1KmBwuhy2RsgHqeZ+z2FCvc= =RaI+ -END PGP SIGNATURE- --- Received: (at 321022-close) by bugs.debian.org; 3 Aug 2005 22:38:06 + From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Wed Aug 03 15:38:06 2005 Return-path: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Received: from joerg by spohr.debian.org with local (Exim 3.36 1 (Debian)) id 1E0Rq8-0007HX-00; Wed, 03 Aug 2005 15:35:56 -0700 From: Bartosz Fenski [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] X-Katie: lisa $Revision: 1.30 $ Subject: Bug#321022: fixed in msort 8.4-1 Message-Id: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sender: Joerg Jaspert [EMAIL PROTECTED] Date: Wed, 03 Aug 2005 15:35:56 -0700 Delivered-To: [EMAIL

Bug#321178: [Fwd: licensing of the x3270 code]
Hi, The x3270 package was previously removed from the archive due to licensing issues (see #248853 for details). I opened this ITP after the 5250 code was removed from the upstream package. Also, I'm waiting for a clarification about one of the licenses, before uploading. Original Message Subject: licensing of the x3270 code Date: Thu, 04 Aug 2005 01:42:09 +0300 From: Lior Kaplan [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: George Harker, Director of Technology Licensing [EMAIL PROTECTED] Hi George, Can you clarify the meaning of public use in your copyright statement here: http://x3270.bgp.nu/license.html Copyright © 1989 by Georgia Tech Research Corporation, Atlanta, GA 30332. Bug#321213: RFP: Xbae Matrix Widget
Package: WNPP Severity: wishlist X-Debbugs-CC: debian-devel@lists.debian.org Xbae Matrix is a free Motif(r) table widget (also compatible with the free LessTif) which presents an editable array of string data to the user in a scrollable table similar to a spreadsheet. The license has been discussed in the past on debian-legal, see: http://lists.debian.org/debian-legal/2003/03/msg00134.html I had contacted the upstream maintainer to explain the wording in the license file, but never got an answer. As suggested on debian-legal it may be safe to upload this package to main, because the license can easily be explained as DFSG-free. I currently don't have the time and skills to package it myself and would appreciate if someone would step in.
