Bug#294759: marked as done (ITP: jcifs -- java library for the CIFS/SMB networking protocol)

Is there any specific reason to close the bug? It is healthy to keep
ITPs open when packages go to experimental (that's why they are tagged
as fixed-in-experimental) since some work is still *intended* or to be
done to get the package workie on real Debian platform.

Thanks,

May I say alternatives rock the world?

Besides, Majordomo is also widely used. I'm all for alternatives on

I orphaned the gbatnav package, I have no time to maintain the package

I have packaged the upstream CVS version, closing all the present bug,
so hopefully an adopter would not have too much work with it.

The package description is:
Batalla Naval is a networked BattleShip game. It supports multiple players
and multiple robots at the same time.

Bug#330178: Justification of the ITP request

2005-09-26 Thread Arnaud Guiton
Hello,

Just a few lines to explain my choice and why I proposed an ITP.

A few months ago I wanted to set up a blog on my Debian machine. I
apt-searched to see what was available and saw that few multi-users and
multi-blogs blogs engine were available.
I also saw that b2evolution was exactly was I needed, but that it was not
packaged in Debian. You can have a look at the description I gave earlier or
look at it on their website.

I am a very satisfied user of this software, so I decided to package it for
myself and then to propose the package for use upstream : We are currently
testing it with the upstream developers.

I really think this blog engine has its place in Debian, that is why I
propose to officialy package it if you agree with that.

If you want more details on my motivation or the reason for my choice,
do not hesitate to drop me a line by email : I'm waiting for your
instructions.

Have a nice day,

Description : PHP5 object persistence layer based on Apache Torque

Propel is an object persistence layer for PHP5 based on Apache Torque. In
practical terms, Propel allows you to use objects instead of SQL to read
and write rows in your database tables. Propel is composed of two tools:
(1) a generator that creates SQL definition files (DDL) and PHP classes
for your datamodel, and (2) a runtime engine that transparently handles
object persistence and retrieval. Propel makes it easy to customize
generated classes and, by using XML for the datamodel definition,
can be easily integrated with an existing application framework.

Hi all,

it's been kind of quiet around here for some months. Anyway, is anybody still

could also sponsor that package... say in two months, when my Debian account is

accepted (or rejected...)
Unfortunately, the old page mentioned some posts earlier is down, and I only
downloaded the binary packages from there. So much for not duplicating work.

Damn it, is this gonna be a ping-pong game?

Since I don't know why exactly Christoph closed Jari's WNPP bugs
(something related to actions on WNPPs regarding automatic closing
previously discussed on #debian-devel?), and since I don't understand
why they were opened without explanation, then I don't understand
nothing.

Can you guys please elaborate on this and stop playing within the BTS?

Bug#330238: ITP: xom -- tree-based API for processing XML with Java

2005-09-26 Thread Charles Fry
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Charles Fry [EMAIL PROTECTED]

* Package name: xom
  Version : 1.0
Upstream Author : Elliotte Rusty Harold [EMAIL PROTECTED]
* URL : http://www.xom.nu/
* License : LGPL
Description : tree-based API for processing XML with Java

XOM is a new XML object model. It is a tree-based API for processing XML
with Java that strives for correctness, simplicity, and performance, in
that order. XOM is fairly unique in that it is a dual
streaming/tree-based API. Individual nodes in the tree can be processed
while the document is still being built.

Bug#330239: ITP: hibernate -- a powerful, ultra-high performance object/relational persistence and query service for Java

2005-09-26 Thread Charles Fry
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Charles Fry [EMAIL PROTECTED]

* Package name: hibernate
  Version : 3.0.5
  Upstream Author : hibernate-devel@lists.sourceforge.net

Description : a object/relational persistence and query service for Java

Hibernate lets you develop persistent classes following common Java
idiom - including association, inheritance, polymorphism, composition,
and the Java collections framework. Hibernate allows you to express
queries in its own portable SQL extension (HQL), as well as in native
SQL, or with Java-based Criteria and Example objects.

Bug#330244: O: spell -- GNU Spell, a clone of Unix `spell'

2005-09-26 Thread David Frey
Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

I intend to orphan the spell package.

The package description is:
GNU Spell is a spell checking program which prints each misspelled
word on a line of its own. It is designed as a clone of the standard
Unix `spell' program, and implemented as a wrapper for Ispell. Spell
accepts as its arguments a list of files to read from. Within that
list, the magical file name `-' causes Spell to read from standard
input. In addition, when called with no file name arguments, Spell
assumes that it should process standard input.

Reason:
Code needs to be adapted/rewritten for the bugs reported and I have
not enough time to do it.

Thanks,
  David

Description : This is a command line shell to the GUI, which currently

demonstrate its features.

(Include the long description here.)
AntiRight is a desktop environment constructed around the arshell application
by means of the ACE script. arshell provides a means for definition of user
applications by command line options. Currently, it uses the lesstif toolkit,
though it will be ported to other toolkits in the future, as the API between
the shell and arshell is portable.

Well, then you should definitely take ownership of this ITP, as I
haven't even started looking at the package. I just wanted to be sure
that it made it into Debian, but if you've already started the work, by
all means, make it happen. :-)

Bug#99156: wnpp: e2salvage not planned to be packaged in Debian

2005-09-26 Thread Drew Scott Daniels
Hi,
There no longer seems to be any interest in packaging e2salvage for
Debian. I'm e-mailing the upstream development too, but I know my
message will bounce thanks to sourceforge. Fwiw, there seems to be
somewhat active interest in development upstream as seen by checkins into
the cvs (last checkin 2 months ago?).

I see development is still continuing on e2salvage, but what I'm
wondering is, why? I don't understand why e2salvage's capabilities
couldn't be put into e2fsck as an option.

Bug#327775: Let's remove rhdb-admin

retitle 327775 RM: rhdb-admin -- Dead upstream, RC bugs
reassign 327775 ftp.debian.org

I think we can remove rhdb-admin, because:

* it's dead upstream in its current (TCL) incarnation
* it's never been in a stable release
* it's already been removed from testing

regards

Andrew
