Dear mentors,

I am looking for a sponsor for my package "xmlrpc-epi".

  Version : 0.51-1
  Upstream Author : Dan Libby <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
* URL : http://xmlrpc-epi.sourceforge.net

It builds these binary packages:

development
libxmlrpc-epi0 - XML-RPC request serialisation/deserialisation library shared
obje

The package is lintian clean.

The upload would fix these bugs: 413986

I would be glad if someone uploaded this package for me.

I'm packaging this as a dependancy of the second-life viewer. It happens
to be the same library behind the PHP5 xmlrpc extension, and I'm hoping we
can start building that PHP5 extension against this library rather than its
own, statically-linked copy. [1]

The PHP5 version is more recently updated, so I've pulled in whatever changes
seemed useful already.

Good point. I must have been half-asleep when I wrote that... In fact, I
remember being so...

I'll fix that, add a -tools pacakge, and maybe add a -dbg package (since
I'm now getting crashes inside the library somewhere from opensl) in the
next couple of days.

And if pbuilder was happy with it, then once that's done I'll start
seeking a sponsor.

Thanks for your help. ^_^

2007-03-19 Thread Bernd Zeimetz
Heya,

just another suggestion:

instead of a fixed '-O3' in COMPILERFLAGS just re-use CFLAGS from top of
the file to take care of noopt in DEB_BUILD_OPTIONS.
You could do it this way: Instead of using CFLAGS up there I'd just
define the COMPILERFLAGS and build the static version before the dynamic
lib, so you can just use a COMPILERFLAGS+="-fPIC" to compile it the
right way.

Cheers,

Bernd

Hi, I finally want to make a new approach to get my app in the debian
repository and got the suggestion to use reportbug by Joerg Jaspert at the
CeBit. I don't have the time to maintain a package in addition to
maintaining the project itself (unfortunately) so I hope somebody will
adopt this. I'd like to offer a one-time bounty of $100 (payment via
neteller if preferred) for getting the package in unstable, too.

If somebody thinks about evalutaing the package, please try the webstart
link with 1.50-pre2 as this version has some more modern gui layout.
I'm also willing to make usability patches, bugfixes and stuff (if
neccessary) of course ;)

Thanks in advance,

David

yeah, just realized that the gimp plugin brings the header file, too. I
guess that's a rule for those windows-people :P

I'm a bit out of free time these days, but I run them trough pbuilder
and the packages seem to be fine on amd64.
Probably you could package some of the tools which come with the
openjpeg source, I guess a viewer and the converters could be useful.
Didn't have the time to look trough or test all the stuff. Imho one
openjpeg-tools package or something like that would be enough.

Cheers,

Bernd

OK. At this point, it's just gonna be /usr/include/openjpeg.h. The
slviewer app upstream looks for "openjpeg/openjpeg.h" but it's expecting
the user to copy all the relevent headers into its own include dir, so
that's not much of a guide to usage.

There's test-packages at http://www.tbble.net/debian/openjpeg/,
they're not ready for sponsorship yet, I've not verified the
build-depends list, nor have I built them other than on PowerPC,
but they seem to work for my slviewer test build.

Hi,

I would like to adopt this package. I've been taking a look at it but I'm
interesting in your last opinion before you get released of this package. A
part from the outstanding bug you have forwarded to upstream, and the fact of
a new warning on the code about using whrandom which have been deprecated in
favor of random, what else do you think I should take in consideration?

Thanks

Please remember that you need to follow
http://www.debian.org/doc/debian-policy/ch-sharedlibs.html
I guess that means you'll end with a libopenjpeg and a libopenjpeg-dev
package.
In case you're not sure about the options for configure jsut you cdbs,
it should just put the right options in there.

Let me know if there's anything I can help you with. If you want I'll
package it for you, not a problem at all.

Best regards,

Bernd
