Your message dated Mon, 03 Dec 2007 10:27:36 +0100 with message-id [EMAIL PROTECTED] and subject line ITP: gio-standalone -- GObject based IO abstraction layer has caused the attached Bug report to be marked as done. This will go to unstable once either a) the API has stabilized or b) it was merged into glib. I expect many Gnome 2.19/2.20 apps to depend on this fairly early in the Gnome 2.19 cycle. * Basic input and output stream base classes. These allow both synch and async i/o and is a basic API that many types of streams can implement. Having an api like this at the low level means you can easily connect code from separate modules. * Concrete implementations of streams: local files, sockets and memory buffers. * Streams working on other streams: Buffering, data parsing/writing * GFile - a filename abstraction This is a object that represents something like a filename path (but its extensinble so it could be a uri or something different too). It allows you to do all the typical file operations that desktop applications need. * An implementation of GFile for local files * APIs for various things needed for file handling: api for cancelling i/o operations content types icons app info (mimetype-app mapping and opening files with an app) basic volume monitor (for listing volumes in e.g. file selector) file and directory monitoring (fam/gamin/inotify/polling supported) ---End Message--- ---BeginMessage--- As GIO was now already merged into glib and will be in the coming 2.15.2 release I'll close this bug and instead package the new glib for experimental. signature.asc Description: Dies ist ein digital signierter Nachrichtenteil ---End Message---

Debian bug tracking system administrator (administrator, Debian Bugs database) ---BeginMessage--- Package: wnpp Severity: normal I request assistance with maintaining the apt-show-versions package. The package description is: apt-show-versions parses the dpkg status file and the APT lists for the installed and available package versions and distribution and shows upgrade options within the specific distribution of the selected package. . This is really useful if you have a mixed stable/testing environment and want to list all packages which are from testing and can be upgraded in testing. The package is a native Debian package and needs some more programming. There are some open issues in the bug reports and feature requests. One thing would be the integration of backports.org. Bug#451209: Adopting swfdec
Hi! Some people have asked me about my upload of the last version of swfdec. I have set myself as uploader right now, and I plan to adopt it and will set myself as maintainer on my next upload which I'll do after I clean up some warnings on the linking of the package. I take seriously a package like this one which is the only way to watch flash media using free software. Having some amd64 platforms at home and at my job I use swfdec almost everyday and I hope I can give packages of a good quality for it. This allows nearly transparent enablement of JSON based web services in services frameworks like Apache CXF. . There are currently two included conventions for mapping JSON to XML. The first is BadgerFish which implements the full XML infoset in JSON using various techniques. The second is called the mapped convention. Debian bug tracking system administrator (administrator, Debian Bugs database) ---BeginMessage--- Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist Owner: Torsten Werner [EMAIL PROTECTED] * Package name: libxstream-java Version : 1.2.2 Upstream Author : Joe Walnes, XStream Committers * URL : http://xstream.codehaus.org * License : BSD Programming Lang: Java Description : Java library to serialize objects to XML and back again The features of the XStream library are: . - Ease of use. A high level facade is supplied that simplifies common use cases. - No mappings required. Most objects can be serialized without need for specifying mappings. - Performance. Speed and low memory footprint are a crucial part of the design, making it suitable for large object graphs or systems with high message throughput. - Clean XML. No information is duplicated that can be obtained via reflection. This results in XML that is easier to read for humans and more compact than native Java serialization. - Requires no modifications to objects. Serializes internal fields, including private and final. Supports non-public and inner classes. Classes are not required to have default constructor. - Full object graph support. Duplicate references encountered in the object-model will be maintained. Supports circular references. - Integrates with other XML APIs. By implementing an interface, XStream can serialize directly to/from any tree structure (not just XML). - Customizable conversion strategies. Strategies can be registered allowing customization of how particular types are represented as XML. - Error messages. When an exception occurs due to malformed XML, detailed diagnostics are provided to help isolate and fix the problem. - Alternative output format. The modular design allows other output formats. XStream ships currently with JSON support and morphing. ---End Message--- ---BeginMessage--- Source: libxstream-java Source-Version: 1.2.2-1 We believe that the bug you reported is fixed in the latest version of libxstream-java, which is due to be installed in the Debian FTP archive: libxstream-java_1.2.2-1.diff.gz to pool/contrib/libx/libxstream-java/libxstream-java_1.2.2-1.diff.gz libxstream-java_1.2.2-1.dsc to pool/contrib/libx/libxstream-java/libxstream-java_1.2.2-1.dsc libxstream-java_1.2.2-1_all.deb to pool/contrib/libx/libxstream-java/libxstream-java_1.2.2-1_all.deb libxstream-java_1.2.2.orig.tar.gz to pool/contrib/libx/libxstream-java/libxstream-java_1.2.2.orig.tar.gz A summary of the changes between this version and the previous one is attached. Bug#445290: newlib: please provide a newlib-source package
please provide a newlib-source package to make it possible to build toolchains for weird architectures at buildtime, without the need to ship the newlib source again. Priority: optional would probably be good for such a package. I don't agree. newlib-source package doesn't have to be provided by a newlib package for a random target It has to be a separate package, and then every target can use it. I had assumed your source was called newlib, so building a newlib-source package would just have been a task of adding a new package. So imho the best way would be to use the newlib source to build a newlib-source package and also build newlib-m68hc1x from it. I guess the embeddian people also would have a use for it. The package(s) will be physically removed automatically when no suite references them (and in the case of source, when no binary references it). Please also remember that the changes have been done on the master archive (ftp-master.debian.org) and will not propagate to any mirrors (ftp.debian.org included) until the next cron.daily run at the earliest. Packages are never removed from testing by hand. Testing tracks unstable and will automatically remove packages which were removed from unstable when removing them from testing causes no dependency problems. Bugs which have been reported against this package are not automatically removed from the Bug Tracking System. Please check all open bugs and close them or re-assign them to another package if the removed package was superseded by another one. Thank you for reporting the bug, which will now be closed. Bug#180060: O: xgsmlib -- Gnome application to handle mobile phone's phone book and SMS
severity 180060 serious thanks Hi, The xgsmlib package has been orphaned for a very long time now (in fact, it's one of the oldest orphaned packages in Debian). I'm going through such packages, to see if they can be safely removed from Debian, since noone seems to care about them. You are receiving this mail because your name showed up somewhere in the history of the package, or because I think that you might be interested for some reason, or because you maintain a related/similar package. Are you interested in adopting this package? Do you know potential adopters? If so, could you forward them this mail, Ccing the BTS? With no action from anyone, I'll request the removal of this package from Debian after a month.
