Bug#485858: Coin-or utils

2008-06-12 Thread Michael Tautschnig

When I read the title, I assumed it was related to the Coin libraries
(www.coin3d.org), which are in Debian as libcoin40-runtime, etc.

I learned about coin3d when some coin3d user ended up asking questions
on the coin-or mailinglist. Yes, great name clash. Thinking about it -
it seems to be a good idea to do prefix all package names with coinor,
 e.g. coinor-utils, coinor-clp, coinor-osi etc, though I don't think it
will help the confusion much as long as the coin3d packages have a
 generic coin name :(

I guess one of them will need to change their SONAMEs, because -lCoin will
definitely cause trouble (note that for some reason, both coin3d and coin-or
decided to use uppercase library names...).

If it's first come first serve, coin-or will be the one to change.

BTW, Soeren, if you need any help at this or any later point in
packaging/maintaining COIN-OR, please feel free to ping me. I've mainly been
using COIN-OR, but liked it a lot, and seeing it packaged would take some burden
off of some of my software projects.

Best,
Michael

Well we are lucky in this case, as the lib in coin-utils is named
libCoinUtils and coin's clp libclp - so no name clash :-)

Good to know. The plan is to first get the essential coin-or packages
into debian and then wait and hope that they switch to some less
conflicting licensing (such that osi etc may also link to glpk).

Bug#472736: RFS: ipband (updated package)

2008-06-12 Thread Giuseppe Iuculano
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-
Hash: SHA1

Dear mentors,

I am looking for a sponsor for the new version 0.8-1
of my package ipband.

It builds these binary packages:
ipband - daemon for subnet bandwidth monitoring with reporting via email

The package appears to be lintian clean.

The upload would fix these bugs: 472736 (ITA)

The package can be found on mentors.debian.net:
- - URL: http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/i/ipband
- - Source repository: deb-src http://mentors.debian.net/debian unstable main
contrib non-free
- - dget http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/i/ipband/ipband_0.8-1.dsc

I would be glad if someone uploaded this package for me.

Kind regards
 Giuseppe Iuculano

Bug#483362: Updated Package

2008-06-12 Thread David Symons
I've uploaded an updated package to mentors.debian.net:

- URL: http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/t/tkdiff
- Source repository: deb-src http://mentors.debian.net/debian unstable main
contrib non-free
- dget http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/t/tkdiff/tkdiff_4.1.4-2.dsc

The only change is to make me the maintainer so I'm not sure how important it
is to upload it. I guess if it is important then a sponsor will find it :-) .

Cheers, Dave.

Hi,

I do not use greylistd anymore, and never got very interested in
maintaining it. I just took it over from a MIA maintainer.

I'm sure someone could give him more love than me.

There's no major work nor big bug, you just need to know about Python
and Exim 4.

Cheers,

Bug#479788: [EMAIL PROTECTED]: Comments regarding adblock-plus_0.7.5.4-1_i386.changes]

2008-06-12 Thread Yaroslav Halchenko

Please please please let adblock-plus into debian so we could have
proper solution for iceweasel 3.0 ;-)

On Wed, 28 May 2008, Yaroslav Halchenko wrote:

 Hi Joerg,

I am sorry for the intrusion. Let me give my .1 cents: elderly
mozilla-firefox-adblock is orphaned project which had no releases in a
while and I picked it up for maintenance in Debian so we have some
ad-sanitarization present for Ice- products. I didn't have time to look
for better alternative to replace it, but since then I found that
adblock plus is a good fork off vanilla adblock. It is actively
developed/maintained. Thus as soon as we get adblock-plus into Debian I
would orphan elderly adblock and will vote for its removal ;-)

And adblock-plus is a separate project per se, so it is better to go
with its own name (mozilla-firefox-adblock should be renamed anyways,
 there is a bug report)

Hope this would help in decision making

Bug#485975: RFP: qooxdoo -- Ajax application framework

2008-06-12 Thread Niko Tyni
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: qooxdoo
  Version : 0.7.3
Upstream Author : 11 Internet AG
* URL : http://www.qooxdoo.org/
* License : dual LGPL / EPL (Eclipse Public License)
  Programming Lang: JavaScript
  Description : Ajax application framework

Leveraging object-oriented JavaScript, qooxdoo allows developers to
build cross-browser applications. No HTML, CSS nor DOM knowledge is
needed. qooxdoo includes a platform-independent development tool chain,
a GUI toolkit and an advanced client-server communication layer.

The latest upstream version (2.4.0) of the smokeping package contains
generated files that need qooxdoo for rebuilding. While the generated
files are free, shipping them in Debian without being able to build them
from their preferred form of source with tools in Debian seems like a
violation of our Social Contract.

I'd be glad if somebody with more JavaScript clue than me could package
this. Cc'ing the Debian Javascript Maintainers as the most likely
candidate.

As a matter of fact, fwknop almost works.

I have created two packages, fwknop-server and fwknop-client.
Perl extensions which were bundled in fwknop but were not available in
Debian repository have been uploaded (libiptables-parse-perl and
libiptables-chainmgr-perl) to avoid conflicts with psad (should be
uploaded in few days), and fwsnort (currently being checked).

I am glad to hear from you.

I misread messages from the BTS about fwknop. I thought Luciano was
working on it.

Description : simple library for Python mock objects
minimock is a simple Python library for using mock objects.
.
Its mock objects will report any access made to the mock object's

programmer can easily make assertions about how mock objects are
used by matching the reported access against expected behaviour.
.
Mock objects can return specified values, raise exceptions, etc.
to simulate the mocked behaviour. Existing objects can optionally
be replaced in-place in their namespace by a mock object, and
restored safely after testing.
