Package: lss
Severity: wishlist

This is quite a useful package for use with LaTeX typesetting.
Some features:
- Built-in 478 LaTeX symbols
- Most of AMS symbols are supported
- Easy integration with gvim editor
- Selected symbol name can be copied into clipboard for use with your
favourite editor

It can be found here: http://clay.ll.pl/lss/
It is licensed under GPL.
I would hereby propose to package this myself.
I have already made a working package for amd64 architecture.

Best regards,

Bug#525986: [Bug 315950] Re: [needs-packaging] FoFiX (Frets on Fire X)

2009-05-12 Thread Pascal Giard
Unfortunately, there are still a couple of show-stoppers for this to
happen, at least in Debian unstable.
The most notable problem right now is the bad python-pyvorbis 1.4
package that throws a double-free error.

Please see: http://bugs.debian.org/521559

Another issue is that python-pygame is still at version 1.7.1 (or
1.8.x in Ubuntu) while = 1.9.x is required, at least for 64bit CPUs.

Until those two issues are tackled, i don't see a FoFiX package for
Debian/Ubuntu coming.
However, if they're resolved, i'll gladly package it myself or make
sure it gets packaged.

Finally, as a comment to the Debian RFP, please note that i'm not the
only upstream author, not at all!
Actually, there are quite a few active developpers these days.
I hope i won't hurt anyone's feelings but i think the most active
developers currently are (no particular order):
Chris Paiano
Pascal Giard (me)
Blazingamer
Qstick
akedrou
John Stumpo
volshebnyi

Cheers,

-Pascal
PS: As a side note, we'd like to modify FoFiX so it can use multiple
songs folders. That'd allow us to reuse the fretsonfire-mudjold
package.

Description: simple and easy to use audio multi-tracker
Jokosher is a simple and poweful multi-track studio. Jokosher provides a
complete application for recording, editing, mixing and exporting audio, and
has been specifically designed with usability in mind. The developers behind
Jokosher have re-thought audio production at every level, and created
 something devilishly simple to use.
 .
 Jokosher offers a strong featureset:
  * Easy to use interface, designed from the ground up. Jokosher uses concepts
and language familiar to musicians, and is a breeze to use.
  * Simple editing with splitting, trimming and moving tools.
  * Multi-track volume mixing with VU sliders.
  * Import audio (Ogg Vorbis, MP3, FLAC, WAV and anything else supported by
GStreamer) into your projects.
  * A range of instruments can be added to a project, and instruments can be
renamed. Instruments can also be muted and soloed easily.
  * Export to MP3, Ogg Vorbis, FLAC, WAV and anything else GStreamer supports.

Bug#429884: ITP: php-htscanner -- htaccess support for PHP cgi

2009-05-12 Thread Raphael Geissert
Hi,

On Tuesday 12 May 2009 08:02:48 you wrote:

I see that you have still not yet found the time to process the review
 comments given by Paul.

The fact that I have not made an upload to mentors doesn't in any way imply
that I have not made any change to it. And even if I hadn't, I replied
acknowledging his email and said there was a, now fixed, important bug.

I'm closing this ITP report now.

You did not do such a thing, but why on earth would you close it? since when
there's this show me something or I'll close your ITP rule?
a) It doesn't make sense
b) At worst, it should be retitled to RFP, since that's what would be the best
and is supported by the fact that somebody else even replied to the report
asking for a php4 version.
c) again, why?

Feel free to reopen it later, when you have processed Paul's comments.

I have found your email a bit aggressive, and that's not the way contributors
should be treated, specially in WNPP where new contributors get started!
I strongly recommend you to review your procedure, probably with some
collaboration from -qa (at least to settle down a record of your procedure).

Oh, and for the record, am still interested in this package and will upload it
soon after I become a DD, there's no hurry.

Bug#528061: ITP: obexd -- OBEX client and server

2009-05-12 Thread Hendrik Sattler

Zitat von Filippo Giunchedi fili...@debian.org:

No, it isn't. It's another implementation.

functionality.

sounds better?

Yes. :)

Linux and create a small, but powerful daemon.

 [taken from upstream http://www.bluez.org/obexd-01/]

 I'll package this under pkg-bluetooth
 http://svn.debian.org/wsvn/pkg-bluetooth/packages/obexd/

What is the difference to obex-data-server?

e.g. ods changed API between 0.3 and 0.4, bluez-gnome 1.8 supports
ods 0.3 and obexd AFAICT.

And upcoming kdebluetooth4 uses solid which require bluez 4.x and
(latest) obex-data-server (that's what I read about it).

Bluez-gnome 1.8 is crippled when not used with bluez 4.x.
I doubt obexd runs with anything but bluez 4.x.

And bluez 4.x is not in unstable, yet. Hmm.

Also the two use different dbus org.openobex APIs which I'm
currently not sure what is the recommended one, see

http://www.mail-archive.com/openobex-us...@lists.sourceforge.net/msg01284.html

That one gives no answers. I'm lazy comparing both APIs but they use
the same dbus namespace and thus cannot run in parallel. Both
upstream, from obexd and from obex-data-server, should be contacted to
clarify that. The decision should not be forwarded to the users and
they simply won't know. And having kdebluetooth4 using ods while
bluez-gnome uses obexd only makes it worse.

If they use the same dbus API, they should share the same virtual
package and the decriptions for both should state the OBEX profiles
that they support (for obexd this is OPP and FBS). Both are in active
development.

Please also take into account that bluetooth is not only used with
bluetooth transport but also with IrDA, USB, TCP and possibly serial
cables. Obexd only supports bluetooth, AFAIK. obex-data-server also
supports USB, AFAIK.

I would like to avoid the same mess as we had with bluez 2.x - 3.x
transition where there were no usuable frontends until much later. So
the whole thing should be polished including packaging of kdebluetooth4.

libbind and glibc's stub resolver are descended from the same code base,
so a fix to one could likely be ported to the other. if a fix were
coded and BSD licensed it could probably be applied upstream. (e.g., we
have arc4random available through libbsd.)

however, the kernels in lenny and sid should be randomizing UDP source
ports anyway, right?

i mainly intended to package libbind for its message parsing functions,

This is wrong, sorry, because it will conflict if upstream will release
a 0.1.0 version. I would prefer something similar to the
linux-2.6-openmoko package and indeed the Debian Git repository has an
 upstream tag, 20090302.git451398a2:

the Debian package version should be 20090503.gitb5eb5f79-1.

How about 0~20090503.gitb5eb5f79-1, so it can go to 0.1 if upstream
eventually decides to start making releases?

Good point, I will do like you suggested, thanks!

Only waiting for the cmdq engine to be finished when dispatching the queue
causes visual artifactes sometimes. Waiting for all engines to be
 finished seems
 to fix the issue.

Can you confirm/deny that the above fixes your problem?

This fixes

#2281 xf86-video-glamo/0f03b39435910: odd graphical artifacts

but does not fix

   http://docs.openmoko.org/trac/ticket/2258

I talked with Lars and it seems that the 703a version has bug #2258
too but does not trigger it very easily. The new version triggers it
every time with new kernel:

lars_.05-10.log:08:23 lars_ i just updated to the newest kernel and i get a
wsod every time i quit X

What about the following ones? ;-)

   http://docs.openmoko.org/trac/ticket/2258

As stated above, no version has the real fix for that. Older versions
just don't hit it every time.

   http://docs.openmoko.org/trac/ticket/2263

That is not fixed yet either.

Since it seems that recent commits have fixed some problems, I would
prefer to package the last one:

   commit 25c4b0e80e93e04e6f7d4b8bca6d007fb9de6da8

Hmm, I wrote your email before this version existed so I have not done
extensive testing on it yet. Please don't pacckage it without asking
Lars first if he thinks it'd be a stable version. (My understanding is
that we have no real fix for the issue yet...)

Note that a perl module can be built using dh-make-perl after unpacking
the cpan distribution (and it now finds the correct license etc)

Xmlm allows the OCaml programmer to manipulate xml data.
Its complexity is half-way between the easy xml-light module and
a full parsing of xml data.

It is also very simple to updgrade existing code using xml-light
in order to use xmlm.

Also xmlm supports natively ocaml-findlib, and seems to be maintained.
Hence, it will be a very good alternative to the unmaintained xml-light
module.

chainssh is a shell script to smplify the ssh login via multiple
sshgateways/firewallgateaways. e.g. connect from homehost via
sshgateway to a clusternode with one command.

This would be quite useful for packages already in debian like
clusterssh, dsh or pdsh.

Best wishes,

Myslę, że to rzeczywiście można działać...

Po pierwsze nie za nic, bo wklad wynosi 5 zl po drugie potrzebujesz
troszke pracy doslownie 20 - 30 minut jednorazowo (np. dzis albo

okragly miesiac!

OK. to zaczynamy, bo sie rozgadalem.

Ten program dziala i niewazne z jakiego kraju jesteś albo w jakim

KROK 1 Niezaprzeczalne prawo natury jest takie, zeby zarobic musisz cos

Inwestuje 5zl.
