I am not using it, am no longer intrerested in developing it, and it
will take too much effort to bring it up to my standards. It has a
single reverse depends, bison++

I think this can be safely removed.

* Package name: libplack-middleware-file-sass-perl
  Version : 0.03
Upstream Author : Tatsuhiko Miyagawa miyag...@bulknews.net
* URL : http://search.cpan.org/dist/Plack-Middleware-File-Sass/
* License : Artistic or GPL-1+
  Programming Lang: Perl
Description : Sass and SCSS support for all Plack-based PSGI frameworks

PSGI is a specification to decouple web server environments from web
application framework code. Plack is an implementation of PSGI.
 .
Plack::Middleware::File::Sass is a Plack middleware component that
works with Plack::App::File or Plack::Middleware::Static to compile
Sass templates into CSS stylesheet in every request.
 .
When a request comes in for *.css* file, this middleware changes the
internal path to *.sass* or *.scss*, depending on the configuration, in
the same directory. If the Sass template is found, a new CSS stylesheet
is built on memory and served to the browsers. Otherwise, it falls back
to the original *.css* file in the directory.
 .
This middleware should be very handy for the development. While Sass to
CSS rendering is reasonably fast, for the production environment you
might want to precompile Sass templates to CSS files on disk and serves
them with a real web server like nginx or lighttpd.

I don't use gtkpod anymore since I don't use my iPod anymore.
While libgpod has active maintainers, nobody seems to care
about the original gtkpod frontend.

If you want to adopt gtkpod, please coordinate with the libgpod
maintainers about the use of the pkg-gtkpod Alioth project.

Gruesse,
Frank

Description : override LWP's HTTP/HTTPS backend with your own PSGI
application

PSGI is a specification to decouple web server environments from web
 application framework code.
 .
LWP::Protocol::PSGI is a module to hijack *any* code that uses
LWP::UserAgent underneath such that any HTTP or HTTPS requests can be
routed to your own PSGI application.
 .
Because it works with any code that uses LWP, you can override various
WWW::*, Net::* or WebService::* modules such as WWW::Mechanize, without
modifying the calling code or its internals.

Description : Task scheduler for heterogeneous multicore machines

StarPU is a runtime system that offers support for heterogeneous multicore
machines. While many efforts are devoted to design efficient computation kernels
for those architectures (e.g. to implement BLAS kernels on GPUs or on Cell's
SPUs), StarPU not only takes care of offloading such kernels (and implementing
data coherency across the machine), but it also makes sure the kernels are
executed as efficiently as possible.

Completely free packages will be uploaded to main, and packages
depending on CUDA will be uploaded to contrib.

Description : utilities for the NCBI Sequence Read Archive

Tools for reading the SRA archive, generally by converting individual runs
into some commonly used format such as fastq. It also includes sources to
loader tools that are still under test. The intention is to give pre-release
 access to the reader code.
 .
The textual dumpers sra-dump and vdb-dump are provided in this
release as an aid in visual inspection. It is likely that their
actual output formatting will be changed in the near future to a
stricter, more formalized representation[s]. PLEASE DO NOT RELY UPON
THE OUTPUT FORMAT SEEN IN THIS RELEASE.
 .
The help information will be improved in near future releases, and
the tool options will become standardized across the set. We will
also be providing documentation on our web site.
 .
Tool options may change in the next release. Version 1 tool options
will remain supported wherever possible in order to preserve
 operation of any existing scripts.

I will first upload to experimental until a final release is published.

There will be 3 binary packages: sra-toolkit with the binaries,
sra-toolkit-libs0 with the runtime libraries, and sra-toolkit-libs-dev
for developers.

I understand that having one package per library is ideal, but the
number of different libaries is quite large:

/usr/lib/libwkdb.so.1.1.2
/usr/lib/libkproc.so.1.0.0
/usr/lib/libsra-schema.so.1.0.0
/usr/lib/libvdb.so.2.0.4
/usr/lib/libkq.so.1.0.0
/usr/lib/libksrch.so.1.0.2

This said, if a more experienced developer would still recommend me to
make one package per library, I will. I checked with upstream and
these libraries are intended for public use (although given that they
are recent, there is no known third-party using them yet).

Have a nice day,

Description : A geolocation information aggregator

creepy is an application that allows you to gather geolocation
related information about users from social networking platforms
and image hosting services. The information is presented in a
map embedded in the application where all the retrieved data is
shown accompanied with relevant information (i.e. what was posted
from that specific location) to provide context to the presentation.

There is a source package at

which I assume could be adapted to conform to Policy.

Description : ZeroMQ2 wrapper for Perl

The ZeroMQ module is a wrapper of the 0MQ message passing
library for Perl. It's a thin wrapper around the C API.
0MQ is a small, fast, and free
software library that gives you message-passing concurrency
for applications in most common languages.
 .
The 0MQ lightweight messaging kernel is a library which
extends the standard socket interfaces with features
traditionally provided by specialised messaging middleware
products. 0MQ sockets provide an abstraction of asynchronous
message queues, multiple messaging patterns, message
filtering (subscriptions), seamless access to multiple
 transport protocols and more.

Description : reworked version of the reverb originally developed for
Aeolus

REV1's character is more 'hall' than 'plate', but it can be used on
a wide variety of instruments or voices. It is not a spatialiser -
the early reflections are different for the L and R inputs, but do
not correspond to any real room. They have been tuned to match left
and right sources to some extent.
 .
In Stereo mode a dry/wet mix control is provided, so it can be used
either as an insert or in send/return mode. For mono just connect one
 of the two channels.
 .
In Ambisonic mode (selected by the -B command line option) the only
 option is the send/return mode.
 .
This package provide REV1, a standalone reverb effect.

Bug#584125: RFH: piuparts.d.o is maintainance hungry

2011-05-24 Thread Scott Schaefer
I am interested in helping. In addition, automated testing is one of my
interests. I have done my share of QA over the years, though in
different environments.

I have begun helping out the OpenSSL project to a small degree
(http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=332498), but I do not
yet want to commit to something I am unsure wrt to either abilities
and/or time. The same would apply to this RFH ... I will begin by
looking at what I can do, and, subject to your telling me you no longer
need help, we can see how this develops.

If you have 10-15 minutes, can you reply with more details re your
statement Running p.d.o is quite maintenance-hungry, and what tasks
you might be looking to offload. I have reasonable working knowledge of
packaging internals/tools, and can likely read/analyze logs.

Dear Alex,

As the Perl transition is over, I have updated libbam to serve its headers in
/usr/include/samtools, and libbio-samtools-perl to search for them there.

You can go ahead with a similar change in cufflinks any time you like.

Have a nice day,
