Bug#559563: Debian package
Any idea on when is this package going to be available? Thanks!
Bug#705095: O: mcs -- abstraction library to store configuration settings
Package: wnpp Severity: normal I intend to orphan the mcs package. The package has been deprecated upstream in favour of GSettings, and there are just few packages depending on it in Debian, most of them are or were plugins for ancient versions of Audacious media player, and they either don't build against the modern versions of it, or just don't work. Therefore I also propose to removed the reverse dependencies now. And, if nobody oppose, it'd be probably reasonable to remove mcs package as well after some time. MCS used to be a good and lightweight configuration library, but it seems, unfortunately, it's now time for it to go :( The package description is: Modular Config System is a library and set of tools which abstract the storage of configuration settings away from userland applications. . It is hoped that by using mcs, that the applications which use it will generally have a more congruent feeling in regards to settings. . Highlights: * Cleanly implemented BSD-licenced code. * Simple, elegant, non-intrusive programming interface. * Modular design allows for third-party configuration backends to be implemented without any extra effort on the part of the development process of your products. * Dummy configuration backend which pretends that the configuration is blank. * Robust object-oriented design implemented as low-footprint C, mcs only adds a ~20KB memory footprint to your application. * XDG Base Directory spec compliance. * GConf support. * It's fast. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-wnpp-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. With this module, all functionality exposed through the C++ interface is also available to Python scripts. Being able to access the API from Python greatly facilitates prototyping TiMBL-based applications. TiMBL is an open source software package implementing several memory-based learning algorithms, among which IB1-IG, an implementation of k-nearest neighbor classification with feature weighting suitable for symbolic feature spaces, and IGTree, a decision-tree approximation of IB1-IG. All implemented algorithms have in common that they store some representation of the training set explicitly in memory. During testing, new cases are classified by extrapolation from the most similar stored cases. The Python module offers both a high-level as well as a low-level interface, the former is very Pythonic and easy to use while the latter offers the full API. - -- Maarten van Gompel Centre for Language Studies Radboud Universiteit Nijmegen proy...@anaproy.nl http://proycon.anaproy.nl http://github.com/proycon GnuPG key: 0x1A31555C XMPP: proy...@anaproy.nl -BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE- Version: GnuPG v1.4.11 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with undefined - http://www.enigmail.net/ iQEcBAEBAgAGBQJRZWjFAAoJEDn+ESAaMVVc/y4H/jDcgwQtRjLMhizVy1o4RKu0 Zrsut6NuolCa9KdFYn6xHDYme0AHNBg1oPuq3AltRVXHeNX/xd+ByfyEFYstu09K QLb7oyNVRDlNS6gDjjpkLhQVSUET9e/jQzwus9HbJEU4CbhYl2JCENDogHOU0ioD Rdf7v4q9armqDPt5ZhaLyuMo2cRQpRTr/T0k35wvgWlz2o8q2gMXC1IAtDOkqNGm shBgIkrPmrmGpo6M00y4Rb5ah+t2MvDExjN1HaQE0xYsJguc6h464yUZvDbIseM8 BejMBYiGWy/LuR2rWXKzOhck6YBDSMpIQ22c/ENvn/OjjDDmyXFQStDzSu9Oiq0= =Wors -END PGP SIGNATURE- -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-wnpp-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#657405: Mediagoblin Debian Packaging Status?
Hi, I found recent packaging activity here: https://gitorious.org/mediagoblin-debian The git repo link from message 47 is dead. Is there any reason not to move the packaging repo to git.debian.org? What's the current status? Anything I could help with? Regards, Thomas Koch, http://www.koch.ro -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-wnpp-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#643595: ITP: snes9x -- Cross-platform SNES emulator
On 04/08/2013 07:31 PM, Michael Moorman wrote: Sorry to bring this back up now, but I was distracted for a time and I lost the email that you sent back in March somehow (can't find it anywhere...) No problem, I'm still very interested! I don't think I could upload it to Mentors without having put another revision on the changelog (since Félix was the last one to update the package, it asks for his key when signing). I put a fake update and uploaded it to Mentors anyway, but I know you won't upload it like that... Well, you should agree with Felix on who is going to be the maintainer. Or is this going to be a team upload? You don't have to create a new changelog entry, you can just hijack the old one with dch -R. Anyway, the link to the package on Mentors is here: https://mentors.debian.net/package/snes9x Great, I'll have a look. It says that the watch file doesn't work, but the URLs listed checked out, so I'm not sure what the issue with that is. I just CC this to Bart Martens who is an expert on the watch file syntax in the hope he'll create a valid entry for you. He constantly fixes all the watch files for various packages which is incredibly helpful :). Adrian -- .''`. More information about the packaging state of mediagoblin is available in the mediagoblin issue tracker: http://issues.mediagoblin.org/ticket/518 and on mentors: https://mentors.debian.net/package/mediagoblin What to do about py-bcrypt? I doubt this is desirable for all cases, users should just install primus-libs:i386 when he needs to run 32bit applications, but not automated by the package manager in such a way? A nice error message indicating that needing a 32bit version of primus-libs would be sufficient to guide the user to install, IMHO.
