Bug#743767: O: hotot -- lightweight microblogging client - metapackage

2014-04-06 Thread Hideki Yamane
Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

I intend to orphan the hotot package since it has several bugs but
upstream decided to discontinue its development 2 month ago.
See http://hotot.org/this-project-has-been-discontinued/
I don't have enough resource to deal with it, so now make it orphan.

The package description is:
 Hotot is a lightweight Twitter and identi.ca client based on WebKit.
 .
 Features include:
   * Update/View Timelines
   * Follow/Unfollow people
   * Post status
   * Reply tweets
   * Post direct messages
   * View people profile
   * Native notification
   * Global key-shortcut

  I'm actually almost ready with a 5.00 package myself, with a lot of
  packaging updates. It should be done and up for sponsorship in
  two or three days at most.
  Cool! May we do it together? Anyway, will sponsor your upload.

OK, so it took a bit more than a couple of days, but I believe that what
is currently in the stunnel collab-maint repo should be good to go:

  git clone git+ssh://git.debian.org/git/collab-maint/stunnel.git

I'd be glad if you could take a look at it and comment on it - even if
you find that you disagree with some of my decisions :) And of course,
it's fine for me if the package is maintained collaboratively - if you
want to make any changes, add yourself as a maintainer or uploader,
just go ahead.

I've taken care of several of the bugs in the BTS. Some of the rest I'd
say are invalid, some of the rest I'll ask if they are still
reproducible, and some of them do need more work. I'll respond to most
of them, but, well, this may sound a bit silly, but I'd like to wait
until the package is actually in Debian and I can respond in some sort
of more official capacity as the real maintainer at the time :)

Once again, thanks for your interest in stunnel and for your assistance!

G'luck,
Peter

Bug#743792: RFP: treesheets -- Free Form Data Organizer

Severity: wishlist

* Package name: treesheets
  Version : 1.0
  Upstream Author : Wouter van Oortmerssen aardap...@gmail.com
* URL : http://strlen.com/treesheets/
* License : ZLIB
  Programming Lang: C
  Description : Free Form Data Organizer

The ultimate replacement for spreadsheets, mind mappers, outliners, PIMs, text
editors and small databases.

Suitable for any kind of data organization, such as Todo lists, calendars,
project management, brainstorming, organizing ideas, planning, requirements
gathering, presentation of information, etc.

It's like a spreadsheet, immediately familiar, but much more suitable for
complex data because it's hierarchical.
It's like a mind mapper, but more organized and compact.
It's like an outliner, but in more than one dimension.
It's like a text editor, but with structure.

TreeSheets is exceptionally small fast, so can sit in your system tray at all
times: with several documents loaded representing the equivalent of almost 100
pages of text, it uses only 5MB of memory

pkg-gtkpod seems is the most relevant maintainer group for this package.

If no one is interested in this, I will try packaging this utility if I
have more time on this.

since I see from your Vcs-Git that you maintain this package in Debian

this hereby.

 MLPACK (Machine Learning PACK) is an intuitive, fast, and scalable C++
 machine learning library, meant to be a machine learning analog to
 LAPACK. It aims to implement a wide array of machine learning methods
 and function as a swiss army knife for machine learning researchers.

 Upstream has been notified of this ITP, and is encouraging.

 For a preliminary packaging, see
  git://anonscm.debian.org/debian-science/packages/mlpack.git

 Most of the lintian issues are due to doxygen generating bogus man
 pages. Excepting those, I'd hope to either address or report the issues
 to upstream for most of the others before uploading.

README

blockfinder by Jacob Appelbaum ja...@appelbaum.net, dave b. d...@d1b.org

All that Blockfinder does is allow you to identify, contact and potentially
hack into every computer network in the world. - Rolling Stone, August 2010 [0]

Contrary to popular media claims, blockfinder is a simple text based console
tool that returns a list of netblocks for a given country. It does this by
fetching the following lists of allocations:

ftp://ftp.arin.net/pub/stats/arin/delegated-arin-latest
ftp://ftp.ripe.net/ripe/stats/delegated-ripencc-latest
ftp://ftp.afrinic.net/pub/stats/afrinic/delegated-afrinic-latest
ftp://ftp.apnic.net/pub/stats/apnic/delegated-apnic-latest
ftp://ftp.lacnic.net/pub/stats/lacnic/delegated-lacnic-latest

The list of ISO codes is ISO 3166-1 as found here:

http://www.iso.org/iso/list-en1-semic-3.txt
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO_3166-1

blockfinder has two methods of operation:

Update the lists of network object allocations
Returning a list of all netblocks (or asn, etc) for a given country

To use blockfinder, first create or update the cache:

blockfinder -i

Once you have a proper cache, search for the desired resource in the country
of your choice:

./blockfinder -v --ipv4 -t mm

Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

I intend to orphan the iceowl package.

So far we've been keeping up with iceowl (i.e. sunbird) builds by
patching the fallouts of upstream not caring much about the stand alone
calendar but sunbird code is being actively removed now, e.g.:

https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=866903
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=984917

So let's bite the bullet and let it go. We'll add a iceowl package that
depends on iceowl-extension + icedove since this might be the most
expected upgrade path. Other findings about usable (GSSAPI capable)
calendars will be added on the groupware page:

https://wiki.debian.org/Groupware

I've already filed a request for removal (#742924) but in case anybody
wants to pick this up, here's the bug for it. This would likely involve
picking up upstream as well.
Cheers,
 -- Guido

Bug#743829: RFA: attic

2014-04-06 Thread Clint Adams
Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

 Attic is a deduplicating backup program written in Python. The main
 goal of Attic is to provide an efficient and secure way to backup
 data. The data deduplication technique used makes Attic suitable for
 daily backups since only actual changes are stored.
