Bug#743638: shairport -- Play music streamed from iTunes/iPads/iPods
Current versions of shairport link to OpenSSL and libcrypto, so it can’t be made into a Debian package without a lot of license hassle – see https://people.gnome.org/~markmc/openssl-and-the-gpl.html. I’m looking at maybe moving Shairport Sync away from OpenSSL/libcrypto. It has a beautiful user interface and uses many modern GTK widgets. The calendar uses Evolution Data Server as a backend and features online syncing through EDS. Although Evolution has a very useful and complete calendar component, the application is quite bloated and contains contact and email functionality bolted on. GNOME calendar is a similar application, but it is written in C with GObject, which is not suitable for new contributors. Finally, California (written by Yorba) is an alternative that does not suffer the above problems, however it is a very new application and is not yet packaged. I plan to maintain this application myself, however I do need a sponsor for it. I have already packaged this mostly; I am just waiting for Granite (a GUI library) to be packaged before I request sponsorship. ---End Message--- ---BeginMessage--- Source: maya-calendar Source-Version: 0.3-1~experimental1 We believe that the bug you reported is fixed in the latest version of maya-calendar, which is due to be installed in the Debian FTP archive. Bug#729203: Still Not Uploaded
Having discovered this bug report and subsequently absorbing it, I cloned the repository, built the debs, and installed them into my primary Sid box. Now I need to track the repo. I didn't see why this package has still not been uploaded. Perhaps I need to reread the report. Nonetheless, all the objections to the state of ffmpeg in Debian remain unaddressed. This is, to me, egregious. Even if ffmpeg is the only project to be so abused by Debian, that by itself is sufficient to discredit the distribution as a whole. The value-add of all the members of the team can be rendered useless for some installations by the handling of even one important component. Having begun with release 1.0^H1 so long ago, I may have arrived at the point of looking elsewhere for my primary GNU/Linux distro. -- not cent from sell May the LORD God bless you exceedingly abundantly! However, there is source package unittest-xml-reporting which results with the newer version of python-xmlrunner. So, I believe the python-xmlrunner package should be removed from unstable. Hi David, On 03.07.2014 15:46, David L. Thanks for testing the repository! I hope the packages work well for you. I didn't see why this package has still not been uploaded. Perhaps I need to reread the report. Actually, ffmpeg has been uploaded 2 months ago and since then is waiting in the NEW queue [1]. Now it has to be accepted by the FTP Team, which apparently can take a lot of time for such a large package. Nonetheless, all the objections to the state of ffmpeg in Debian remain unaddressed. This is, to me, egregious. Even if ffmpeg is the only project to be so abused by Debian, that by itself is sufficient to discredit the distribution as a whole. A Galois Field is defined over w-bit words and is termed GF(2w). As such, the elements of a Galois Field are the integers 0, 1, . . ., 2w − 1. Galois Field arithmetic defines addition and multiplication over these closed sets of integers in such a way that they work as you would hope they would work. Specifically, every number has a unique multiplicative inverse. Moreover, there is a value, typically the value 2, which has the property that you can enumerate all of the non-zero elements of the field by taking that value to successively higher powers. ---End Message--- ---BeginMessage--- Source: gf-complete Source-Version: 1.0.2-1 We believe that the bug you reported is fixed in the latest version of gf-complete, which is due to be installed in the Debian FTP archive. To use Shake the user writes a Haskell program that imports Development.Shake, defines some build rules, and calls the Development.Shake.shakeArgs function. Thanks to do notation and infix operators, a simple Shake build system is not too dissimilar from a simple Makefile. However, as build systems get more complex, Shake is able to take advantage of the excellent abstraction facilities offered by Haskell and easily support much larger projects. The Shake library provides all the standard features available in other build systems, including automatic parallelism and minimal rebuilds. Shake also provides more accurate dependency tracking, including seamless support for generated files, and dependencies on system information (e.g. compiler version). (This has been in the Haskell team's package plan for a while; I'm packaging it now because the current version of haskell-hoogle became unbuildable following the transition to haskell-conduit 1.1, and newer upstream versions of haskell-hoogle require shake.) -- Colin Watson [cjwat...@debian.org] ---End Message--- ---BeginMessage--- Source: haskell-shake Source-Version: 0.13.2+dfsg-1 We believe that the bug you reported is fixed in the latest version of haskell-shake, which is due to be installed in the Debian FTP archive. Bug#753652: ITP: node-clarinet -- evented streaming JSON parser
Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist Owner: Andrew Kelley superjo...@gmail.com X-Debbugs-CC: debian-de...@lists.debian.org * Package name: node-clarinet Version : 0.9.0 Upstream Author : Nuno Job nunojobpi...@gmail.com (http://nunojob.com/) * URL : https://github.com/dscape/clarinet * License : BSD Programming Lang: JavaScript Description : evented streaming JSON parser - Node.js module clarinet is a Node.js module which provides a streaming parser for JSON. clarinet is inspired (and forked) from sax-js. . clarenet is intended to create better full text support in Node.js. Creating indexes out of large (or many) JSON files does not require a full understanding of the JSON file, but it does require something like clarinet. . Node.js is an event-based server-side JavaScript engine.
Bug#753653: RFP: tmsu -- command-line file tagging tooI and tag-based virtual filesystem
Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist * Package name: tmsu Version : 0.4.2 Upstream Author : Paul Ruane p...@tmsu.org. * URL : http://tmsu.org/ * License : GPLv3 Programming Lang: Go Description : command-line file tagging tooI and tag-based virtual filesystem TMSU is a tool for tagging your files. It provides a simple command-line tool for applying tags and a virtual filesystem so that you can get a tag-based view of your files from within any other program. TMSU does not alter your files in any way: they remain unchanged on disk, or on the network, wherever you put them. TMSU maintains its own database and you simply gain an additional view, which you can mount, based upon the tags you set up. The only commitment required is your time and there's absolutely no lock-in Features: * Tagging Files: Use the tag command to apply tags to files: $ tmsu tag summer.mp3 music * Merging tags: merging an accidentally created umsic tag into the existing music tag: $ tmsu merge umsic music * Specify values for tags: $ tmsu tag spring.mp3 year=2003; tmsu tag summer.mp3 year=2008 * Listing Tags: $ tmsu tags summer.mp3 * Listing Files: $ tmsu files mp3; $ tmsu files mp3 big-jazz; tmsu files (mp3 or flac) and not big-jazz; tmsu files year = 2010; tmsu files music and year = 2000 and year 2010 * Virtual File-System $ mkdir mp $ tmsu mount mp $ ls mp queries tags $ ls mp/tags big-jazz mp3 music $ ls -l mp/tags/music drwxr-xr-x 0 paul paul 0 2012-04-13 20:00 big-jazz drwxr-xr-x 0 paul paul 0 2012-04-13 20:00 mp3 drwxr-xr-x 0 paul paul 0 2012-04-13 20:00 spring.2.mp3 - /home/paul/spring.mp3 drwxr-xr-x 0 paul paul 0 2012-04-13 20:00 summer.1.mp3 - /home/paul/summer.mp3 drwxr-xr-x 0 paul paul 0 2012-04-13 20:00 winter.3.mp3 - /home/paul/winter.mp3 Files in the virtual file-system are actually just symbolic links back to the tagged file's real location elsewhere on the file-system. This means they can be used just like regular files from any application: $ acmeplayer mp/tags/music/summer.1.mp3 * Queries: In addition to the tags view, there is also a queries directory in which you can run view queries just like those we ran earlier with the files command. $ ls mp/queries README.md $ mkdir mp/queries/mp3 and not folk $ ls mp/queries/mp3 and not folk summer.1.mp3 winter.3.mp3 -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-wnpp-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe.
