This is a dependency of Hydiomatic, a Hy code transformer. But it's
useful in its own right too. I've yet to come up with a reasonable
long description, though. The module will be packaged under the
umbrella of pkg-hy, along with its dependency (monaxhyd) and
Hydiomatic.

Binary packages created will likely be called python-hy-adderall and
python3-hy-adderall.

OK, I initially thought it was the mention about the caveats in the

About the arbitrary version, I plan on asking upstream to tag his source
tree at a commit he considers stable-ish, so the resulting packaged

Bug#755897: ITP: alfred -- Almighty Lightweight Fact Remote Exchange Daemon

2014-07-24 Thread Steffen Möller
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Stefen Moeller steffen_moel...@gmx.de

* Package name: alfred
* URL : http://www.open-mesh.org/projects/open-mesh/wiki/Alfred
* License : GPL
  Programming Lang: C
  Description : Almighty Lightweight Fact Remote Exchange Daemon
 A.L.F.R.E.D. gathers status information in networks with dynamically
 chaing topologies, e.g. a Wifi mesh with mobile clients. It is a
 user space daemon for distributing arbitrary local information
 over the same mesh/network in a decentralized fashion. This data
 can be anything which appears to be useful - originally designed
 to replace the batman-adv visualization (vis), you may distribute
 hostnames, phone books, administration information, DNS information,
 the local weather forecast ...
 .
 Users may insert information by using the alfred binary on the command
 line, or use custom written programs to communicate with alfred directly
 through unix sockets. Once the local data is received, the alfred
 daemon takes care of distributing this information to other alfred
 servers on other nodes somewhere in the network. As addressing scheme
 IPv6 link-local multicast addresses are used which do not require any
 manual configuration. A user can request data from alfred, and will
 receive the information available from all alfred servers in the network.

A large description, by the site:

One API to access system information regardless of the underlying platform

Hyperic's System Information Gatherer (SIGAR) is a cross-platform API
for collecting software inventory data. SIGAR is core of HQ's
auto-discovery functionality, and you can use it to extend
auto-discovery behavior.

SIGAR includes support for Linux, FreeBSD, Windows, Solaris, AIX,
HP-UX and Mac OSX across a variety of versions and architectures.
Users of the SIGAR API are given portable access to inventory and
monitoring data including:

* System memory, swap, cpu, load average, uptime, logins
* Per-process memory, cpu, credential info, state, arguments,
environment, open files
* File system detection and metrics
* Network interface detection, configuration information and metrics
* Network route and connection tables

This information is available in most operating systems, but each OS
has its own way(s) providing it. SIGAR provides developers with one
API to access this information regardless of the underlying platform.
The core API is implemented in pure C with bindings currently
implemented for Java, Perl and C#.

SIGAR offers both source code and binary distributions including
native libraries for all supported platforms, examples and
documentation. Hyperic SIGAR is licensed under the terms of the GNU
General Public License (GPL v2).

 pd-lua adds a new loader to Pure Data (Pd), that allows one to load
 objectclasses written in the popular lua programming language.
 .
 Some programming problems are complicated to express in graphical
 dataflow languages like Pd, requiring the user to ressort to objectclasses
 written in more general purpose languages.
 For those who do not want to use compiled languages like C/C++, this package
 offers the possibility to write first-class objectclasses in the lightweight
 programming language lua.

* Package name: ui-utilcpp
  Version : 1.8.2
  Upstream Author : Stephan Sürken abs...@debian.org
* URL : http://ui-utilcpp.sourceforge.net/
* License : LGPL
  Programming Lang: C++
  Description : UI C++ utility library

A toolbox-like C++ library, with a diverse set of utilities:

  * Exception: Generic Exception classes and THROW macros.
  * Sys: C++ exception wrappers for a wide range of system C functions.
  * Cap: Capabilities C++ wrapper.
  * CharsetMagic: Charset guessing.
  * Recoder: Charset recoding.
  * Time: Misc date and time utilities.
  * File: Misc file utilities.
  * Text: Misc string utilities.
  * http/: Minimal HTTP implementiation.
  * PosixRegex: Simple wrapper for C 'regexec'.
  * QuotaInfo: Wrapper to fs quota information.
  * SMLog[Mono]: Syslog Macro Log.
  * Socket: Simple Socket abstraction (inet+unix).
  * Thread: Process based pseudo thread abstraction.
  * CmdLine: Create CLI-like programs.
  * GetOpt: Abstraction of GNU C getopt_long(3).

As said, a big variety of tool-like functionality all around
C++, grown over time. Some of the code have arguably been
obsoleted by boost and/or newer C++, but most of it is still
useful.

This will be needed to provide continued support for sp-gxmlcpp
(already in Debian) later (which has been renamed ui-gxmlcpp,
and now depends on ui-utilcpp).

Hth,

Stephan

Bug#755928: RFH: guake

2014-07-24 Thread Brandon Sharitt
I use Guake and I'd be interested in helping maintain it. I've never
maintained a Debian package in any capacity, so I'd be new to it, but if
it's easy as you say, then it's probably a good place to start.

 Hello,

 Even if I am not longer using it, I am still maintaining. However
 since it seems that guake is coming back from the dead:
 https://www.openhub.net/p/Guake
 https://github.com/Guake/guake/graphs/commit-activity

 It would be nice if someone using it helps.

 It is quite easy to maintain it.

 Cheers,

 That one has the status of: 'works for me'.

It also works for me, though lintian reports many errors.

* palli@darkstar is used many times in debian/changelog, is that on
  purpose or do you agree to change it to your regular email address?

* we still have the problem of included javascript libraries, does
  anybody have news regarding this? Tomas?

Cheers,

Bug#755382: fonts-adobe-sourcehansans-cn -- “Source Han Sans CN” A sans-serif Pan-CJK font family (CN subset) that is offered in seven weights

2014-07-24 Thread Ming-ting Wei
The below is the fontforge script that I tried to make font from, but
not tested throughly.

Open(./source-han-sans/Regular/cidfont.ps.CN)
CIDFlattenByCMap(./source-han-sans/UniSourceHanSansCN-UTF32-H)
Reencode(ISO10646-1, 1)
Generate(sourcehansans-cn-regular.otf)

Also, it does not reference to features.CN, which includes baseline
information. Parsing that and appending the information into the font
is simple using python script, but fontforge python binding does not
provide API for force encoding.

Bug#699123: ITP: python-sh -- Python subprocess interface

2014-07-24 Thread Tianon Gravi
Ben and Nick,

Just a friendly ping - did you guys come to a consensus on packaging for
python-sh and the old pbs package?

I'm happy to pitch in or take over and make the adjustments necessary
(and of course get it uploaded) if you guys don't have the time or the
motivation anymore.

♥,
- Tianon

 OK, I initially thought it was the mention about the caveats in the
 package's description that led to your request.

It is mostly about the caveats in the description.

 About the arbitrary version, I plan on asking upstream to tag his source
 tree at a commit he considers stable-ish, so the resulting packaged
 version doesn't look like a plain arbitrary snapshot.

That would be a good step.

Also, please do make sure that whatever version goes into jessie works
with the official kernel packages for jessie (which will be either 3.14
or 3.16, to be decided soon).

Ben.

Bug#755974: RFA: moodbar - Analysis program for creating a colorful visual representation of an audio file

2014-07-24 Thread Andrew Starr-Bochicchio
Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

I no longer use this package. It's long dead upstream, so the ideal adpoter
would be someone interested in takinng over development.

Description: Analysis program for creating a colorful visual representation of
an audio file
 The Moodbar is an algorithm for creating a colorful visual
 representation of the contents of an audio file, giving an idea of its
 mood (this is a rather fanciful term for the simple analysis it
 actually does). The Moodbar was invented by Gavin Wood and Simon
 O'Keefe for inclusion in the Amarok music player.
 .
 This package contains a GStreamer plugin with elements that are used
 in the moodbar analysis, and an application that actually does the
 analysis
