sk1libs is a set of python non-GUI extensions for sK1 Project.
The package includes multiplatform non-GUI extensions which are

This package is a dependency of the new upstream version of
python-uniconvertor . It'll be maintained in the Python Modules Team.

It would be useful to add a few words explaining what sK1 is.

Bug#719694: any progress?

2014-09-02 Thread Cédric Boutillier
Hi Onur,

Thanks for proposing to package libgumbo.

Have you made progress on this? It turns out that this package will
enter in the dependency chain of Gitlab (through the nokogumbo Ruby
gem). So some members of the Ruby team is (indirectly) very interested
in having this package.

Can you please report in this bug your progress and the possible
difficulties you are facing?

Cheers,

Cédric

My understanding is that doxygen uses a patched version of jquery, so
this replacement isn't correct. I'm not sure what the recommended way
to fix this is though. There's some information here:

 https://bugs.debian.org/736360

I looked carefully at them, however I don't agree my solution is wrong.

Please look at the jquery 1.7.1 code
http://code.jquery.com/jquery-1.7.1.min.js
and meld with the jquery.js code inside

aside from 3 \r\n in the upstream minified code, it is the same file, no
patches at all.

So I presume the debian jquery 1.7.2 will be just fine (I little tested it and
it was fine aside from some little render bug, but I don't think it was jquery
specific)

Your referred bug is when we _build_ the doxygen documentation, here we have
the already built one, so we just need to copy-paste it.

Would be nice to force upstream to give the source doxygen documentation, but
at least I think my solution is the best one (for the moment).

Please also look here [1]. If upstream starts providing doxygen documentation
we will likely need to override the bug and fix doxygen instead.

 MediaElement API.

This code is currently embedded in owncloud and wordpress, and this

Package: mysql-5.1
Version: 5.1.57-1
Severity: wishlist

While debugging the FTBFS on i386 I have found two embedded libraries
included in MySQL source code: yassl (extra/yassl) and taocrypt
(extra/yassl/taocrypt), both available from www.yassl.com as separate
libraries.

Since it is against the policy (although only 'should') and it's a
hell from security POV[1], it would be much better to package those two
libraries separately and link MySQL against separate packages if
possible (there could be some MySQL source changes which would
disallow to do so).

Other thing which hit me is that MySQL AB blatantly relicenced the
source code of both libraries, which might be violation of GPL. Or
there is some background agreement between the MySQL AB/Oracle and
Sawtooth Consulting Ltd. which is not visible from the source code.
Please note that this relicensing might raise the severity to RC, but
since the www.yassl.com lists the MySQL as a user of their libraries,
I guess they are ok with it.

1. Are you able to tell if any of those security advisories listed
   here: http://secunia.com/advisories/product/6145/ apply to MySQL?
I am not even able to tell which version of yaSSL is bundled
with MySQL. It seems to me that it's 1.6.0 and it is vulnerable
   to: http://aluigi.altervista.org/adv/yasslick-adv.txt

CyaSSL is an open source, C language based SSL library which is targeted at
embedded and RTOS environments, primarily because of its small size and speed.
It supports industry standards up to the current TLS 1.2 level. For a size
reference, CyaSSL is up to 20 times smaller than OpenSSL.

Bug#760276: ITP: ruby-diffy -- convenient way to diff strings in Ruby

2014-09-02 Thread Cédric Boutillier
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Cédric Boutillier bou...@debian.org

* Package name: ruby-diffy
  Version : 3.0.6
Upstream Author : Sam Goldstein sgr...@gmail.org
* URL : https://github.com/samg/diffy
* License : Expat
  Programming Lang: Ruby
Description : convenient way to diff strings in Ruby

This package is a dependency of Gitlab and will be maintained under the
umbrella of the Ruby team.

Diffy provides a convenient way to generate a diff from two strings or
files. Instead of reimplementing the LCS diff algorithm Diffy uses
battle tested Unix diff to generate diffs, and focuses on providing a
convenient interface.

Cheers,

Cédric

  Description : Bootstrap-Datepicker XStatic support

XStatic is a packaging standard to package external (often 3rd party) static
files as a Python package, so they are easily usable on all operating systems,
with any package management system or even without one.
 .
Many Python projects need to use some specific data files, like javascript,
css, java applets, images, etc. Sometimes these files belong to YOUR project
(then you may want to package them separately, but you could also just put
them into your main package). But in many other cases, those files are
maintained by someone else (like jQuery javascript library or even much bigger
js libraries or applications) and you definitely do not really want to merge
them into your project. So, you want to have static file packages, but you
don’t want to get lots of stuff you do not want. Thus, stuff required by
XStatic file packages (especially the main, toplevel XStatic package) tries to
obey to be a MINIMAL, no-fat thing. XStatic doesn't sell any web framework
or other stuff you don't want. Maybe there will be optional XStatic extensions
for all sorts of stuff, but they won't be required if you just want the files.
 .
By having static files in packages, it is also easier to build virtual envs,
support linux/bsd/... distribution package maintainers and even windows
 installs using the same mechanism.
 .
This package provides Bootstrap-Datepicker support as a Python module.

Note: the finaly package does *not* provides the JS/Less library, which I
packaged under libjs-twitter-bootstrap-datepicker.

Description : JQuery UI XStatic support

Note: the long description will be reviewed thanks to the input of the english
team (hey justin!).

Bug#719694: any progress?

2014-09-02 Thread Onur Aslan
Hi.

Package was ready before I submitted this ITP bug, but I decided to wait
a stable release from upstream. But it never happened and I am
still waiting a stable release.

And looks like build process is a bit changed and my old package doesn't
work anymore.

I will update package and upload into collab-maint and keep you posted
in a few days.

Thanks.

Hi,

It's been a while, so I am updating you on my progress.

I've had success working with upstream to get patches included in upstream.

I am currently waiting on version 0.92.2 to be released. That version
fixes privacy issues[0], which is why I am waiting to package that version.

The only missing part from this guide so far that's not in Debian is hasktags.

Is there any particular reason, why it's not packaged other than that nobody
did it yet? Or is there any blocker?

Thank you,

Bug#760314: RFH: zoneminder

2014-09-02 Thread Vagrant Cascadian
Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

Zoneminder maintenance has fallen behind; neither myself nor Peter
Howard seem to have enough time to maintain it properly. I no longer
use zoneminder at work. Another maintainer, ideally one who actively
uses zoneminder, is probably long overdue...

Homepage: http://www.zoneminder.com/

Description: Linux video camera security and surveillance solution
ZoneMinder is intended for use in single or multi-camera video security
applications, including commercial or home CCTV, theft prevention and child
or family member or home monitoring and other care scenarios. It
supports capture, analysis, recording, and monitoring of video data coming
from one or more video or network cameras attached to a Linux system.
ZoneMinder also support web and semi-automatic control of Pan/Tilt/Zoom
cameras using a variety of protocols. It is suitable for use as a home
video security system and for commercial or professional video security
and surveillance. It can also be integrated into a home automation system
 via X.10 or other protocols.

It's written in Perl, C (maybe C++?), PHP and javascript. It's got a web
frontend, and stores events in a database backend.

There are at least two RC bugs fixed in VCS/experimental; haven't had
the time to do an upload or a good setup to test with, and another that
might be fixable with a newer upstream version, or at least downgraded
with some testing to verify it only applies to specific cameras.

VCS is in collab-maint:

  http://hg.debian.org/hg/collab-maint/zoneminder

Upstream has recently (well, the last year or so) gotten new developers,
and has been commenting on several of the bugs in Debian's bug tracking
system. Upstream VCS:

Description : some primitive tools to help you manage your

From the website:

Graphite clusters are pretty cool. Here are some primitive tools to
help you manage your graphite clusters.

All of the tools support two common arguments; the path to a config
file, and the name of the cluster. Using these tools alongside a config
file that describes your graphite clusters you can build up scripts to
manage your metrics. Some of the tools could easily be replaced with
one-liners in shell, but exist here for convenience and readability.

Bug#602499: Packagin Flex SDK

Hi Bastien,

I am interested in packaging flex.

Since you didn’t rename this bug as an ITP, I’m wondering how much
interested you are, and if that’s still true. Do you already have a
VCS for the packaging, have you made it public?

Regards

David

Bug#760338: ITP: acpi-call -- Kernel module that enables you to call ACPI methods

2014-09-02 Thread Raphaël Halimi
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Raphaël Halimi raphael.hal...@gmail.com

* Package name: acpi-call
  Version : 1.1.0
  Upstream Author : Michal Kottman
* URL : https://github.com/mkottman/acpi_call
* License : GPL-3+
  Programming Lang: C
Description : Kernel module that enables you to call ACPI methods

Kernel module that enables you to call ACPI methods by writing the method
name followed by arguments to /proc/acpi/call.

It allows you to tamper with your system and should be used with caution.

This package is needed by tlp/tpacpi-bat (see bug #711471, ITP for tlp) to
change battery (dis)charge thresholds on new ThinkPad models which don't
support tp-smapi anymore.

It may be useful for other purposes, though, but AFAIK, since bbswitch
superseded it for toggling NVIDIA Optimus cards, the main use of this kernel
module by the community is for setting battery thresholds.

tlp (or, more precisely, tpacpi-bat) - if and when available in Debian - will
need this kernel module for proper operation on new ThinkPad models; currently
it has some kind of automatic installation function for acpi_call kernel
module, but I think a an installation through Debian packages dependency system
and dkms would be more compliant with Debian standards.

There is effort (by jak@) to get support for that into the kernel[1],
would this make acpi-call obsolete again?
