I would - 'tab' is a very generic name and is also used to refer to
other kinds of tablature notation, a control character, a user
interface element, etc.

Bug#799061: open-isns package in Debian

2016-05-29 Thread Christian Seiler
Hi again,

On 05/27/2016 08:06 PM, Christian Seiler wrote:
> just wanted to ping you again about the open-isns package.

Just FYI: there was a question about getting iscsiuio into
Debian on the pkg-iscsi mailing list today:

http://lists.alioth.debian.org/pipermail/pkg-iscsi-maintainers/2016-May/002101.html

I'd really like to be able to tell users of the open-iscsi
package that I'm actively working on it, but I can't enable
iscsiuio support in open-iscsi until I upgrade it. But I
can't upgrade open-iscsi until open-isns is packaged for
Debian.

Since this has been stalled for the last 8 months, and I
haven't heard any replies from you for over 6 months (I
have pinged you 3 times with months of time in between
the pings), I'm hereby announcing that I'll take over this
ITP if I don't hear anything from you in the next 7 days.
I really don't want to step on your toes, especially since
you said you have already started packaging it; and if I
do take over the ITP, I'll be happy to co-maintain it with
you, but I cannot in good conscience let this stall the
progress on open-iscsi any longer - sorry!

Regards,
Christian

Bug#673515: ITP: puppetdb -- Puppet data warehouse

2016-05-29 Thread Stig Sandbeck Mathisen
intrigeri writes:

> Are there currently any plans to package PuppetDB for Debian?

I'm not aware of any.

I spent a few days on it in 2012, but the necessary free time investment
to learn all the required tools and package all the requirements was too
big for me then, and still is.

> Any expected specific difficulty that would be worth sharing here?

A packaging effort will require a familiarity with Leiningen, Maven and
Clojure in particular, and Java application packaging in general. I'm
not familiar with either of these.

Leiningen is no longer packaged in Debian, it is only present in
"oldstable".

Puppet's Cloujure projects depend on "trapperkeeper"[0], also referred
to as "tk", and are built with a buildsystem called "ezbake"[1] which is
a Leiningen plugin.

PuppetDB also has a lot of other dependencies[2] which need to be mapped
to existing Debian packages, or packaged.

When you really need exported resources, there's nothing like it.

One can in _some_ cases use Hiera to provide the necessary data to
puppet for creating resources across many hosts. This does, however,
require you to generate that data beforehand.

Hola Sandro Knauß!

Thanks for the report and sorry for taking so long to act upon it.

I decided to go with nemo-python instead of python-nemo as this is not really a
python module, but rather a C library that makes it possible to write extensions
to nemo in python.

Bug#825741: ITP: tkblt -- Graphics extension library for Tcl/Tk

2016-05-29 Thread Ole Streicher
X-Debbugs-Cc: debian-de...@lists.debian.org, debian-as...@lists.debian.org,
pkg-tcltk-de...@lists.alioth.debian.org
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Ole Streicher

* Package name: tkblt
  Version : 3.0.1
  Upstream Author : William Joye
* URL : https://github.com/SAOImageDS9/tkblt
* License : MIT
  Programming Lang: Tcl
Description : Graphics extension library for Tcl/Tk

This package is a spin-off from saods9 which was separated by
upstream into its own git repository. TkBLT is a derived version
of the BLT Toolkit by George A. Howlett, for Tcl/Tk 8.5/8.6, is
TEA compatible, and is fully compatible with the Tk API.

Copared to BLT, TkBLT includes only the Graph and Barchart
Tk widgets, and the Tcl Vector command. However, since saods9
is actively developed, tkblt will be maintained upstream
as well, which may make it a better choice for the future.

For simplicity, I plan to create a single package from it.

The package will be maintained within the Tcl/Tk team and stored
on their git storage:

https://anonscm.debian.org/cgit/pkg-tcltk/packages/tkblt.git

The package is created as a dependency of saods9, which currently
uses BLT 2.5.3 in Debian. BLT 2.5.3 is however buggy, unmaintained,
partly incompatible, and upstream wishes that we switch to his
version.

Taking over the package or co-maintenance within the Tcl/Tk team
is greatly appreciated.

Best regards

Ole

Bug#673515: ITP: puppetdb -- Puppet data warehouse

2016-05-29 Thread intrigeri
Hi,

are there currently any plans to package PuppetDB for Debian?
Any expected specific difficulty that would be worth sharing here?

Rationale for my question: the infrastructure behind Tails [0] relies
on exported resources, and we can't allow ourselves to rely on
third-party packages.

(BTW: thanks for packaging & uploading Puppet 4!)
