Bug#840081: ITP: openvas-manager -- Manager Module of OpenVAS

2016-10-07 Thread 林上智
Package: wnpp

Severity: wishlist

Owner: SZ Lin (林上智)

* Package name: openvas-manager

  Version : 6.0.9

  Upstream Author : Greenbone Networks GmbH

* URL :  http://www.openvas.org/

* License : GPL-2+

  Programming Lang: C

  Description : Manager Module of OpenVAS
 The OpenVAS-Manager is a layer between OpenVAS-Scanner and various client
 applications such as OpenVAS-Client or Greenbone Security Assistant. Among
 other features, it adds server-side storage of scan results and it makes it
 unnecessary for scan clients to keep connection until a scan finishes.

This package used to be in Debian, and furthermore it is available in Kali.
I will start from those packages.

Maintainer of the package will be the pkg-security Team

Bug#840054: ITA: slay -- Kills all of the user's processes

Hi,

I've create a collab-maint git repo and imported to old Mercurial
version history into it and added my improvements:

https://anonscm.debian.org/git/collab-maint/slay.git

I'll test it a little bit more and will then probably upload it.

For the version number scheme, I try to adhere to Semantic Versioning
(http://semver.org/).

I intend to orphan refdb. I have not used it in a long time.

If this package ever gets removed, the deps: refdb-client refdb-perlmod and
refdb-sru will need to be removed too (not used anywhere else).

Description is:

Description-en: Reference database and bibliography tool - sql server
 RefDB is a reference database and bibliography tool for SGML, XML, and
 LaTeX/BibTeX documents. It allows users to share databases over a network. It
 is accessible through command-line tools, through a web interface, from text
 editors (Emacs, Vim), and it contains a SRU server. Programmers can use Perl
 and PHP libraries to integrate RefDB functionality into their own projects.
 RefDB is released under the GNU General Public License and runs on Linux, the
 *BSDs, OS X, Solaris, and Windows/Cygwin.

 RefDB appears to be the only available tool to create HTML, PostScript, PDF,
 DVI, MIF, or RTF output from DocBook (SGML, XML V.4.x and V.5.x) or TEI (XML P4
 and P5) sources with fully formatted citations and bibliographies according to
 publisher's specifications.

Bug#840066: ITP: lxhotkey -- Lightweight global keyboard shortcuts configurator

2016-10-07 Thread Andriy Grytsenko
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: lxhotkey
* License: GPL
* URL: https://git.lxde.org/gitweb/?p=lxde/lxhotkey.git
* Programming Lang: C

I intend to add lxhotkey source package into Debian.
For now it contains only CLI but later it will contain (either or both)
GTK+ and Qt GUI.

This is a lightweight configurator independent of window manager and UI,
which intended to work with any possible window manager from any kind of
UI, using unified API. The most wanted such thing is for window managers
which don't have own tool for managing keyboard shortcuts for the global
actions such as screen / windows manipulations and executing commands or
starting applications. Example of such window manager is Openbox.

Bug#755415: ITA: gexiv2 -- GObject-based wrapper around the Exiv2 library

I've uploaded the package to mentors. I'm a little bit nervous about
upstream's changes to gexiv2.vapi. The new version removes some things
about streams and a log hander, but I don't know enough about vala to
know if that's a problem, or whether anything in Debian uses the vala
bindings.

* Package name: gexiv2
  Version : 0.10.4-1
  Upstream Author : Jens Georg
* URL : https://wiki.gnome.org/Projects/gexiv2
* License : GPL-2+
  Section : libs

It builds those binary packages:

gir1.2-gexiv2-0.10 - GObject-based wrapper around the Exiv2 library -
introspection da
libgexiv2-2 - GObject-based wrapper around the Exiv2 library
libgexiv2-dev - GObject-based wrapper around the Exiv2 library - development
file

To access further information about this package, please visit the following
URL:

https://mentors.debian.net/package/gexiv2

Alternatively, one can download the package with dget using this command:

  dget -x
https://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/g/gexiv2/gexiv2_0.10.4-1.dsc

More information about gexiv2 can be obtained from
https://wiki.gnome.org/Projects/gexiv2.

Changes since the last upload:

  * New upstream version 0.10.4
  * Make compile warnings nonfatal. Add --disable-Werror to debian/rules
override_dh_auto_configure.
  * Add fix-typelib-install-directory.patch from upstream. The .typelib files
were being installed in $(datadir)/gir-1.0. This patch moves them to the
correct location $(libdir)/girepository-1.0.
  * Add always-install-vapi-file.patch from upstream. The .vapi file was only
being installed when valac was present. This patch causes the pre-built
vapi file to be used when valac is not available.
  * Update to standards version 3.9.8
  * Switch to automatic dbgsym packages
  * Move from debhelper 9 to 10
- Remove --parallel and --with autoreconf, they're default now
  * Enable hardening flags.  Add DEB_BUILD_MAINT_OPTIONS = hardening=+all.
  * Add linker flags -Wl,-z,defs -Wl,-O1 -Wl,--as-needed
  * Remove shlibs:Depends for gir1.2-gexiv2-0.10. There's no use for it when
the package only contains python and typelib files and it causes a warning
message.
  * Update debian/copyright.
- Upstream has assigned copyright to SFC.
- Add copyright of several new m4 macros.
- Add comment clarifying origin of gexiv2-managed-stream.h.
  * Add debian/upstream/metadata
  * Remove Build-Depends on libtool-bin. It's no longer necessary since
upstream fixed their call to g-ir-scanner in
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/765827.
  * Add debian/control VCS fields
  * Update debian/libgexiv2-2.symbols.
  * New maintainer (Closes: #755415)

  Jason Crain

  Description : a fast widefield interferometric imager

WSClean (w-stacking clean) is a fast generic widefield imager. It uses the
w-stacking algorithm and can make use of the w-snapshot algorithm. As of
Feb 2014, it is 2-12 times faster than CASA's w-projection, depending on
the array configuration. It supports full-sky imaging and proper beam
correction for homogeneous dipole arrays such as the MWA.

WSClean allows Hogbom and Cotton-Schwab cleaning and has wideband,
multiscale,
compressed sensing and joined-polarization deconvolution modes. All
operations
are performed on the CPU.

It will maintained within the Debian Astronomy Working Group. A git
repository
will be created on alioth [1].

Best regards,

Gijs

  Description : Local Aligner for Massive Biological DatA

Lambda is a local biosequence aligner optimized for many query sequences
and searches in protein space. It is compatible to the de facto standard tool
BLAST, but often outperforms the best currently available alternatives at
reproducing BLAST’s results and is the fastest compared with the current
state of the art at comparable levels of sensitivity.

This package will be maintained under the umbrella of the Debian Med Team.

  Description : C++ image library for graphics software

Long-Description:
 OpenGL Image (GLI) is a header only C++ image library for graphics software.
 .
 GLI provides classes and functions to load image files (KTX and DDS),
 facilitate graphics APIs texture creation, compare textures, access texture
 texels, sample textures, convert textures, generate mipmaps, etc.
 .
 This library works perfectly with OpenGL or Vulkan but it also ensures
 interoperability with other third party libraries and SDK. It is a good
 candidate for software rendering (raytracing / rasterisation), image
 processing, image based software testing or any development context that
 requires a simple and convenient image library.

This package will be maintained under the Debian Science Team.

CryFS encrypts your files, so you can safely store them anywhere. It
works well together with cloud services like Dropbox, iCloud, OneDrive
and others.

It uses FUSE to establish a relationship between two directories. One
contains normal files. That directory is backed by another containing
an encrypted representation of the files.

It is roughly equivalent to the already-packaged EncFS, but is said to be
more secure (https://www.cryfs.org/comparison).

The most recent release prints a disclaimer that it should not yet be
used in production. Releasing to experimental.

Description: Entropy Broker allows you to distribute entropy data
(random values) to /dev/random devices from other systems.
Entropy Broker is an infrastructure consisting of client-daemons that
fill /dev/random and server-daemons that feed the central entropy
broker-server.
The server-daemons can gather random values by measuring timer frequency noise,
analysing noise from a unused audio-device, noise from a video source
(webcam, tv-card) and random values from a real hardware RNG (random
number generator).

Martijn van Brummelen

The Soapy HackRF project provides a SoapySDR module for using the
HackRF open source Software Defined Radio transceiver.

This will be maintained in the hamradio team. I originally mentioned
this as part of the SoapySDR ITP, but now I decided to send separate
ITPs for the modules after all.

  Description : Thread pool based event framework wrapper

 Nunc-stans is an event framework wrapper that provides a thread pool for event
 callback execution. It provides thread safety to event frameworks by isolating
 and protecting the thread safe parts from the non-thread safe parts, and allows
 multi-threaded applications to use event frameworks that are not thread safe.
 It has been primarily developed using libevent, but has also been tested with
 tevent. Nunc-stans uses lock free data structures where possible,
 to avoid mutex contention. The liblfds library is used.

The main function, `ace-window' is meant to replace `other-window'. In fact,
when there are only two windows present, `other-window' is called. If there
are more, each window will have its first character highlighted. Pressing
that character will switch to that window.

  Description : Recursive Sparse Blocks matrix computations library

This is a library for sparse matrix computations featuring the
Recursive Sparse Blocks (RSB) matrix format. This format allows cache
efficient and multi-threaded (that is, shared memory parallel)
operations on large sparse matrices. It provides the most common
operations necessary to iterative solvers, like matrix-vector
multiplication, triangular solution, rows/columns scaling, diagonal
extraction / setting, blocks extraction, norm computation, formats
conversion. The RSB format is especially well suited for symmetric
and transposed multiplication variants.

  Description : RFI detector for astronomical radio observations
 The AOFlagger is a flagger framework that implements several methods to
deal
 with radio-frequency interference or RFI. Some of the implemented
algorithms
 are the SumThreshold method, background fitting techniques (smoothing,
 sliding window, median filters, high-pass filters) and morphological
 operators. These are combined into one default strategy that performs very
 well on almost any observation.

It will maintained within the Debian Astronomy Working Group. A git
repository
will be created on alioth [1].

Gijs

Since Cython optimizes for speed, Cython normally does not check
for interrupts. The cysignals package provides mechanisms to handle
interrupts (and other signals and errors) in Cython code.

Bug#839996: ITP: rozofs -- Scale-out NAS file system

2016-10-07 Thread Sophie Brun
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Sophie Brun

* Package name: rozofs
  Version : 2.0.18
  Upstream Author : Fizians S.A.S.
* URL : https://github.com/rozofs/rozofs
* License : GPL-2
  Programming Lang: C, Python
  Description : Scale-out NAS file system

RozoFS aims to provide an open source high performance and high
availability scale out storage software appliance for intensive disk IO
data center scenario. RozoFS provides an easy way to scale to petabytes
storage but using erasure coding it was designed to provide very high
availability levels with optimized raw capacity usage on heterogenous
commodity hardwares.

RozoFS provide a native open source POSIX file system, build on top of a
usual out-band scale-out storage architecture. The RozoFS specificity lies
in the way data is stored. The data to be stored is translated into
several chunks named projections using Mojette Transform and distributed
across storage devices in such a way that it can be retrieved even if
several pieces are unavailable. On the other hand, chuncks are meaningless
alone. Redundancy schemes based on coding techniques like the one used by
RozoFS allow to achieve significant storage savings as compared to simple
replication.
