  Description : OCaml syntax extension for object-oriented visitors

Visitors is a syntax extension for the OCaml programming language. It
allows you to annotate your type definitions, such that a visitor class
will be automatically generated. This visitor class contains methods
for the traversal of your data structure, like iter, map, fold, etc. It
is then easy to override these methods for your needs. This is very
convenient when programming with complex algebraic data structures.

This package will be maintained by the Debian Ocaml Maintainers team.

Bug#869121: ITP: dragonfire -- Dragonfire is an open source virtual assistant project for Debian based Linux distributions

2017-07-20 Thread Mehmet Mert Yıldıran
Mr. Treinen,

I fixed the subject using cont...@bugs.debian.org, but I couldn't update
the "Description : " part. So I'm sending the updated description via this
email:

This package installs a binary named "dragonfire" to your system. Once it's
installed, the user can execute it either from command line or from the
Application Launcher. It receives voice commands from users and takes
actions accordingly.

Dragonfire goes through these steps for your commands, respectively:
 - Search across the built-in commands
 - Try to Learn using Advanced NLP and Database Management Techniques
 - Ask to Omniscient Q Engine

Dragonfire plays an avatar animation on the screen (for max 10 seconds)
everytime she speaks. It uses default notification method of the system and
also places an icon to the system tray.

Dragonfire is the missing virtual assistant of Linux while macOS has Siri,
Windows has Cortana. This is why it's an indispensable package for Debian's
repositories. I also guarantee to maintain this package for at least 8
years. The project is already 2 years old.

Thanks for your attention. Kindest regards...

Bug#869138: ITP: fonts-sil-tagmukay -- Tagmukay is a Shifinagh (also know as Tifinagh) script font

2017-07-20 Thread Bobby de Vos
Package: wnpp
Version N/A; reported 2017-07-20
Severity: wishlist

Greetings,

My team at SIL-NRSI has released a font not in Debian, Tagmukay
that I would like to package for Debian.

Package name: fonts-sil-tagmukay
Version : 2.000
Upstream Author : SIL NRSI
URL : http://software.sil.org/tagmukay
License : OFL-1.1
Section : fonts
Description : Tifinagh Unicode TrueType font with OT and Graphite support

Tagmukay is a Shifinagh (also know as Tifinagh) script font with support
for the Tawallammat Tamajaq language. It is a Unicode font that features
bi-consonant ligatures and alternate forms necessary to support this
language. It has Graphite and OpenType tables that have the logic to
support these features.

It builds those binary packages:

fonts-sil-tagmukay - Tagmukay is a Shifinagh (also know as Tifinagh)
script font

To access further information about this font, please visit the
following URL:

http://software.sil.org/tagmukay/

Daniel Glassey can sponsor this package, or Fabian Greffrath might, as
he sponsored the last font I packaged, fonts-sil-annapurna.

Regards,
Bobby

  Description : major mode for the Meson build system files

Everybody seems to be jumping on the Meson[1] bandwagon these days, and
I have just looked at the meson.build file added in systemd 234. To my
dismay, Emacs opened it in fundamental mode. However, there is a
meson-mode.el on github and melpa which adds syntax highlighting and
indentation support. :-)

Would anybody of the Debian Emacs addons team like to package it?

Cheers,

I am a Debian Maintainer and I expect we will maintain this package in
the pkg-gnome team. Packaging is at
https://anonscm.debian.org/git/pkg-gnome/graphene.git/

graphene is a required build-dependency for gtk4. The first major
milestone for gtk4 is 3.90, expected later this month. gtk3 is stable
with continued bugfix releases in the 3.22.* series.

My packaging uses meson. (GNOME is considering switching many of their
modules to meson for 3.26 later this year.)

  Programming Lang: C, C++
  Description : Forwarding implementation of the DNSCurve protocol

CurveDNS is the first publicly released forwarding implementation that
implements the DNSCurve protocol[0].

DNSCurve uses high-speed high-security elliptic-curve cryptography to
drastically improve every dimension of DNS security:

 * Confidentiality: DNS requests and responses today are completely
unencrypted and are broadcast to any attacker who cares to look.
DNSCurve encrypts all DNS packets.
 * Integrity: DNS today uses "UDP source-port randomization" and "TXID
randomization" to create some speed bumps for blind attackers, but
patient attackers and sniffing attackers can easily forge DNS records.
DNSCurve cryptographically authenticates all DNS responses, eliminating
forged DNS packets.
 * Availability: DNS today has no protection against denial of service.
A sniffing attacker can disable all of your DNS lookups by sending just
a few forged packets per second. DNSCurve very quickly recognizes and
discards forged packets, so attackers have much more trouble preventing
DNS data from getting through. Protection is also needed for SMTP, HTTP,
HTTPS, etc., but protecting DNS is the first step.

What is so special about this implementation is the fact that any
authoritative DNS name server can act as a DNSCurve capable one, without
changing anything on your current DNS environment. The only thing a DNS
data manager (that is probably you) has to do is to install CurveDNS on
a machine, generate a keypair, and update NS type records that were
pointing towards your authoritative name server and let them point to
this machine running CurveDNS. Indeed, it is that easy to become fully
protected against almost any of the currently known DNS flaws, such as
active and passive cache poisoning.

CurveDNS supports:

 *   Forwarding of regular (non-protected) DNS packets;
 * Unboxing of DNSCurve queries and forwarding the regular DNS packets
 *   Boxing of regular DNS responses to DNSCurve responses;
 *   Both DNSCurve’s streamlined- and TXT-format;
 *   Caching of shared secrets;
 *   Both UDP and TCP;
 *   Both IPv4 and IPv6.

  Description : Python parser for the Fortran language

 The fparser package is a Python implementation of a Fortran 66/77/90/95/2003
 language parser. Currently fparser actually includes two different
 implementations; the first, “fparser”, supports Fortran 66/77/90 (plus some
 extensions — see fparser) but only parses down to the level of individual
 lines of code, i.e. not the content of the Fortran expressions themselves.
 The second, “fparser2”, also has support for Fortran 2003 and is able to parse
 Fortran expressions. It is however, less mature than fparser.

This package is a dependency of the Psyclone Domain-Specific Language (DSL)
for weather codes in Fortran, which I am packaging (and using)

These are Python bindings for the API of the cloud provider DigitalOcean.
With that, actions otherwise performed on the web interface could be
performed like creating/shutdown/delete virtual machines (droplets) etc.

I would sponsor this, please just contact me if you have a package that
builds.

  Version : 1.3
  Upstream Author : Stefan Hundhammer
* URL : https://github.com/shundhammer/qdirstat
* License : GPLv2
  Programming Lang: C++
  Description : Qt-based directory statistics (KDirStat without any KDE)

QDirStat is a graphical application to show where your disk space
has gone and to help you to clean it up.

This is a Qt-only port of the old Qt3/KDE3-based KDirStat,
now based on the latest Qt 5. It does not need any KDE libs
or infrastructure. It runs on every X11-based desktop on Linux,
BSD and other Unix-like systems.

QDirStat has a number of new features compared to KDirStat.

To name a few:
* Multi-selection in both the tree and the treemap.
* Unlimited number of user-defined cleanup actions.
* Properly show errors of cleanup actions (and their output, if desired).
* File categories (MIME types) and their treemap color are now configurable.
* Exclude rules for directories are easily configurable.
* Desktop-agnostic; no longer relies on KDE or any other specific desktop.

qdirstat is useful on its own and to visualize obnam backup stats.

Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Daniel Manila

* Package name: weresync
  Version : 0.2
  Upstream Author : Daniel Manila
* URL : https://github.com/DonyorM/weresync
* License : Apache2
  Programming Lang: Python3
  Description : A program to easily clone linux drives incrementally.

Using rsync and various partitioning tools, weresync simulates a normal clone
and creates a drive that is almost exactly the same as the original drive.
However it is able to do this from a running drive or to a drive smaller than
the original drive. This is written in Python but makes use of many aspects of
the Linux ecosystem.

Hopefully, you think this package looks amazing and you want to try it right
away. However, you may be skeptical about the usefulness of weresync. You may
be thinking, I can do this exact same thing using gparted or ddrescue. Hear me
out! There are a few reasons to use weresync over the other tools.

First and foremost, most other cloning tools require confidence in one's
technical skill. dd will easily destroy your drive, gparted requires knowing
what flags and partition types to use, and CloneZilla is just about the
opposite of user friendly. weresync primarily attempts to help people who don't
want to spend the time and effort to learn how to safely use a cloning tool.

But weresync also has some of its own features. It contains the ability to
properly copy a partition table to a new drive and format the new drive. It
uses rsync to copy so, unlike most other cloning tools, it will update
incrementally – saving time. weresync has good default directory exclusions
(such as /dev or /proc) so it won't copy parts of your system which should not
be copied. On top of this weresync will create new UUIDs for the partitions on
the cloned drive, allowing the clone to be used alongside the original drive.
But the clone will still be bootable because weresync updates the fstab and
reinstalls the boot loader. Not to mention it can complete the entire clone
while leaving the original drive running ("hot cloning"), unlike dd or
CloneZilla.

All of this is accomplished with one button click.

Bug#869117: RFA: opendnssec -- dependency package to install full OpenDNSSEC suite

2017-07-20 Thread Ondřej Surý
Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

I request an adopter for the opendnssec package.

The package description is:
 OpenDNSSEC is a complete DNSSEC zone signing system which is very
 easy to use with stability and security in mind. There are a lot of
 details in signing zone files with DNSSEC and OpenDNSSEC covers most
 of it.
 .
 This meta-package depends on the standard distribution of OpenDNSSEC.

I no longer use OpenDNSSEC and I think it would be best, if someone
who does use OpenDNSSEC would adopt the package.

Cheers,
Ondrej

Bug#869114: ITP: ocaml-libtopkg -- packager for distributing OCaml software

2017-07-20 Thread Hendrik Tews
Package: wnpp
Owner: Hendrik Tews
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: ocaml-libtopkg
  Version : 0.9.0
  Upstream Author : Daniel Bünzli
* URL or Web page : http://erratique.ch/software/topkg
* License : ISC
  Programming Lang: OCaml
  Description : packager for distributing OCaml software

Topkg is a packager for distributing OCaml software. It provides
an API to describe the files a package installs in a given build
configuration and to specify information about the package's
distribution creation and publication procedures.

Topkg is needed as build dependency for new upstream versions of
existing OCaml packages, for instance cmdliner. The topkg
upstream sources do also contain topkg-care, a command line tool
that helps with various aspects of a package's life cycle.
However, topkg-care has various build dependencies, among them
cmdliner. Therefore, the ocaml-libtopkg source package won't
build topkg-care. If we need topkg-care in Debian, it should go
into a separate source package with identical upstream tar ball.

Regards,

Hendrik

SAMBox is an Apache PDFBox 2.0.0 fork intended to be used as PDF
processor for Sejda and PDFsam related projects. The main differences
between PDFBox and SAMBox are:
 * Lazy loading/parsing of PDF objects
 * Multiple I/O implementations to read from
 * Minimized garbage collector through the use of a pool of
java.lang.Stringbuilder
 * PDF streams are read directly from the underlying source through the concept
of
   bounded views
 * Removal of unused PDFBox features like preflight validator, fdf and digital
signature
 * Documents can be saved using objects stream to store PDF objects

  Description : Java Image Scaling Library

imgscalr is a simple and efficient image-scaling and manipulation
library implemented in pure Java. It provides performant (hardware
accelerated), good-looking and intelligent image-scaling algorithms.
This class implements the Java2D "best practices" when it comes to
scaling images as well as Chris Campbell's incremental scaling
algorithm proposed as the best method to downsize images for use as
thumbnails.

This package is a new dependency to package the latest version of
pdfsam.

  Description : content addressable data synchronizer

 casync is
 .
 1. A combination of the rsync algorithm and content-addressable storage
 2. An efficient way to store and retrieve multiple related versions of
large file systems or directory trees
 3. An efficient way to deliver and update OS and container images over
the Internet
 4. An efficient backup system
 .
 casync uses well-known concepts implemented in a variety of other projects
 (primarily git and rsync), and puts them together in a moderately new, nice
 way.

I plan to maintain this within the pkg-systemd umbrella. Co-maintainers
welcome!

  Description : JSON library for Java -- standalone data-binding module

Jackson jr is a compact alternative to the full Jackson Databind
component. It implements a subset of functionality, for example for
cases where size of jar or startup time matters. In addition to basic
datatypes the package supports reading and writing of standard Java
Beans (an implementation that mimics the standard JDK Bean
Introspection).

Jackson jr also adds composer implementation that
can be used to construct JSON output with builder-style API, but
without necessarily having to build an in-memory representation:
instead, it can directly use the streaming-api for direct output. It
is also possible to build actual in-memory JSON String or byte[]
representation, if that is preferable.

This package is a new dependency to package the latest version of
pdfsam.
