Bug#887598: ITP: jasp -- Offers standard analysis procedures in both their classical and Bayesian form

2018-01-21 Thread Michael Hanke
Hi,

just FYI there is/was a PR on JASP's GitHub with a semi complete packaging.
It had quite a few TODOs, but they should be detailed in the PR. Maybe that
is a useful starting point.

Cheers,

Michael

* URL : https://launchpad.net/process-cpp
* License : LGPL-3
  Programming Lang: C++
  Description : C++11 library for handling processes (runtime libraries)

process-cpp is a simple and straightforward wrapper around process creation
and control. It helps both with handling child processes and with interacting
with the current process. Some of its features include:

- Thread-safe get/set/unset operation on the current process's environment.
- Throwing and non-throwing overloads of functions when system calls are
involved.
- Seamless redirection of input, output and error streams of child processes.
- Type-safe interaction with the virtual proc filesystem, both for reading &
writing.

The library's main purpose is to assist in testing and when a software
component needs to carry out process creation/control tasks, e.g., a graphical
shell. To this end, the library is extensively tested and tries to ensure
fail-safe operation as much as possible.

This package includes the process-cpp runtime libraries.

I request an adopter for the bluefish package. I've happily maintained it for
around 12 years. Now I'm rarely using it and package management lacks behind.

This package deserves better.

It is usually a low maintenance package and has an active and responsive
upstream. The packaging and backporting files for Debian are currently located
in the upstream subversion repository at sourceforge.net. Bugs are tracked with
GNOME bugzilla. Backporting is done as a service to Debian users and requires
a few changes to the default packaging files, so there are different branches
for the packaging files. I tried to keep the differences as small as possible.
If you have any questions, please ask.

Control: retitle -1 ITP: gnome-shell-extension-easyscreencast -- video

I have successfully built a local version of the package using the
initial work done by the Kali team [1]. I intend to base the initial
packaging on that and improve it to the Debian packaging standards.

I'd like it to be maintained under the umbrella of the Debian GNOME
team (cc'd). Anyone from the team, could you please accept my request
to join the group on salsa, so I can push and start a formal review.

Bug#887901: ITP: libcurry-perl -- module to create automatic curried method call closures for any class or object

2018-01-21 Thread gregor herrmann
Package: wnpp
Owner: gregor herrmann
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: libcurry-perl
  Version : 1.001000
  Upstream Author : mst - Matt S. Trout (cpan:MSTROUT)
* URL : https://metacpan.org/release/curry
* License : Artistic or GPL-1+
  Programming Lang: Perl
  Description : module to create automatic curried method call closures for
any class or object

The curry module provides a function that simplifies the creation of curried
method closures which are functions that wrap an existing function and
provide some of the inner functions arguments. It also contains a package
variable which, in addition, weakens the wrapper function so it is will not
hold a reference count for the inner function so Perl's garbage collection
system can destroy the latter when needed.

The package will be maintained under the umbrella of the Debian Perl Group.
