Bug#885152: ITP: intel-me-cleaner -- Tool for partial deblobbing of Intel ME/TXE firmware images

Sorry for the much delayed reply, I actually wanted to write a message immediately after I saw the ITP report, but that task somehow got lost... > If you don't plan uploading the version from PureOS I plan uploading mine > which is a bit more recent. I think uploading the older version when a more recent one is available is just silly ;-) So, go ahead! It would be nice though if we could maybe collaborate easily on the packaging, so maybe putting it under team-maintenance or into collab-main would be nice :-) Cheers, Matthias > > 2017-12-25 0:18 GMT+01:00 Jonas Smedegaard : >> Quoting Balint Reczey (2017-12-25 00:02:20) >>> Package: wnpp >>> Owner: Balint Reczey >>> Severity: wishlist >>> X-Debbugs-CC: debian-de...@lists.debian.org >>> >>> * Package name: intel-me-cleaner >>> Version : 1.0+git20171022.g2ff65c1 >>> Upstream Author : Nicola Corna >>> * URL : https://github.com/corna/me_cleaner >>> * License : GPL-3.0+ >>> Programming Lang: Python >>> Description : Tool for partial deblobbing of Intel ME/TXE firmware > images >>> >>> The Intel Management Engine (ME) is a microcontroller embedded in >>> most Intel chipsets manufactured since 2006 that runs independently >>> from the main CPU. >>> >>> It is not removable from the system and it runs a signed proprietary >>> firmware, with full network and memory access, which poses a serious >>> security threat. This ITP is currently blocked on https://dev.clojure.org/jira/browse/TDEPS-44 Upstream depends on a version of Maven that is unavailable in the archive. Functionality is concentrated in phylogenetic comparative biology, but also includes a diverse array of methods for visualizing, manipulating, reading or writing, and even inferring phylogenetic trees and data. Included among the functions in phylogenetic comparative biology are various for ancestral state reconstruction, model-fitting, simulation of phylogenies and data, and multivariate analysis. There are a broad range of plotting methods for phylogenies and comparative data which include, but are not restricted to, methods for mapping trait evolution on trees, for projecting trees into phenotypic space or a geographic map, and for visualizing correlated speciation between trees. Finally, there are a number of functions for reading, writing, analyzing, inferring, simulating, and manipulating phylogenetic trees and comparative data not covered by other packages. For instance, there are functions for randomly or non-randomly attaching species or clades to a phylogeny, for estimating supertrees or consensus phylogenies from a set, for simulating trees and phylogenetic data under a range of models, and for a wide variety of other manipulations and analyses that phylogenetic biologists might find useful in their research. Bug#538067: Moved packaging of OpenCPN from SVN to Git
Hi, since I once touched OpenCPN as my first SoB project[1] I wanted to save the work done at that time and moved the packaging from SVN to Git[2]. I do not plan to do any further work on this package - may be somebody else is motivated to keep on the work. Kind regards Andreas. Bug#891141: ITP: clojure-cli -- upstream CLI entrypoints for Clojure
Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist Owner: Elana HashmanControl: block -1 by 891136 * Package name: clojure-cli Version : 1.9.0.341 Upstream Author : Rich Hickey * URL : https://github.com/clojure/brew-install * License : EPL-1.0 Description : upstream CLI entrypoints for Clojure Currently, Debian ships our own custom CLI entrypoints for Clojure (clojure and clojurec), under the `clojure` source package. With the 1.9 upstream release, the Clojure devs are now providing `clj` and `clojure` entrypoint scripts as part of the "brew-install" package. This name is a little misleading, as this package contains useful distro-agnostic scripts. We should do our best in Debian to mirror the behaviour in upstream. Hence, I plan on moving the "clojure" binary package (that contains our current entrypoints) to use this upstream source package instead, and will remove the custom Debian entrypoints (or possibly rename them to provide some backwards compatibility?) signature.asc Description: Digital signature

Revell * URL : https://cran.r-project.org/package=phytools * License : GPL Programming Lang: GNU R Description : GNU R phylogenetic tools for comparative biology A wide range of functions for phylogenetic analysis. GIT Repository: https://github.com/kochstefan/usbauth-all.git This bug report replaces bug reports #879714, #879715, #879716 PACKAGE libusbauth-configparser1: * Package name: libusbauth-configparser1 Version : 1.0 Upstream Author : Stefan Koch * URL : https://github.com/kochstefan/usbauth-all/tree/master/libusbauth-configparser * License : LGPL-2.1 Programming Lang: C Description : Library for USB Firewall including flex/bison parser The library is used to read the usbauth config file into data structures and is used by usbauth and YaST. See also: openSUSE package request (https://build.opensuse.org/request/show/533512) PACKAGE usbauth: * Package name: usbauth Version : 1.0 Upstream Author : Stefan Koch * URL : https://github.com/kochstefan/usbauth-all/tree/master/usbauth * License : GPL-2.0 Programming Lang: C Description : USB firewall against BadUSB attacks It is a firewall against BadUSB attacks. A config file descibes in which way USB interfaces would be accepted or denied. To the kernel an interface authorization was developed with this firewall. The firewall sets the authorization mask according to the rules. See also: openSUSE package request (https://build.opensuse.org/request/show/533513) PACKAGE usbauth-notifier: * Package name: usbauth-notifier Version : 1.0 Upstream Author : Stefan Koch * URL : https://github.com/kochstefan/usbauth-all/tree/master/usbauth-notifier * License : GPL-2.0 Programming Lang: C Description : Notifier for USB Firewall to use with desktop environments A notifier for the usbauth firewall against BadUSB attacks. The user could manually allow or deny USB devices. Every user that wants use the notifier must be added to the usbauth group. See also: openSUSE package request (https://build.opensuse.org/request/show/533514) NOTICE aboud usbguard and usbauth: The usbguard project provides an USB firewall, too. It is already packaged within debian. The usbguard development was supported by RedHat and usbauth was supported by SUSE. Historical, usbguard was published while the working on usbauth has already been started. The main difference is that usbguard works with USB devices and usbauth works with USB interfaces. usbauth could allow/deny usb interfaces using the new usb interface authorization mechanism that is part of linux 4.4 and above. See also: https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/stable/linux-stable.git/log/?h=v4.4.94=grep=interface+auth Examples: * allow a storage functionality of a USB device and deny USB Ethernet of the same device * allow audio/video functionality of an USB TV card and deny using the remote control functionality * allow USB printing/scanning and deny USB storage usage of a multifunction printer (BTW: the interface mechanism supports denying user space triggered actions (using USB claiming) like scanning) usbguard could allow/deny USB devices using the usb device authorization mechanism of the Linux kernel. It allows to denying a whole device if one interface of it is considered as bad (usbauth supports this, too) usbguard allows creating actions that is not supported by usbauth. A config file descibes in which way USB interfaces would be accepted or denied. To the kernel an interface authorization was developed with this firewall. The firewall sets the authorization mask according to the rules.
