Bug#893766: ITP wig -- WebApp Information Gatherer

2018-03-21 Thread Samuel Henrique
Package: wnpp
Owner: "Samuel Henrique"
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: prochunter
  Upstream Author : Jesper Kückelhahn
* URL : https://github.com/jekyc/wig

* License : BSD-2-clause
  Programming Lang: Python 3
  Description : web application information gathering tool, which can
identify numerous Content Management Systems and other administrative
applications.

The application fingerprinting is based on checksums and string matching of
known files for different versions of CMSes. This results in a score being
calculated for each detected CMS and its versions. Each detected CMS is
displayed along with the most probable version(s) of it. The score
calculation is based on weights and the amount of "hits" for a given
checksum.

wig also tries to guess the operating system on the server based on the
'server' and 'x-powered-by' headers. A database containing known header
values for different operating systems is included in wig, which allows wig
to guess Microsoft Windows versions and Linux distribution and version.

I intend to maintain this package under the pkg-security team.

This package is also intended to be part of my application to this years

Bug#893732: ITP: feersum -- PSGI engine for Perl based on EV/libev

2018-03-21 Thread Xavier Guimard
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Xavier Guimard

* Package name: feersum
  Version : 1.405
  Upstream Author : Jeremy Stashewsky
* URL : https://metacpan.org/release/Feersum
* License : Artistic or GPL-1+
  Programming Lang: Perl
  Description : PSGI engine for Perl based on EV/libev

Feersum is an HTTP server built on EV. It fully supports the PSGI 1.03 spec
including the psgi.streaming interface and is compatible with Plack and PSGI
1.1. Feersum also has its own "native" interface which is similar in a lot of
ways to PSGI, but is not compatible with PSGI or PSGI middleware.

Feersum uses a single-threaded, event-based programming architecture to scale
and can handle many concurrent connections efficiently in both CPU and RAM. It
skips doing a lot of sanity checking with the assumption that a "front-end"
HTTP/HTTPS server is placed between it and the Internet.

This is handy. I wrote my own, but why re-invent the wheel?

DESCRIPTION
   The certwatch program is used to issue warning mail when an SSL
   certificate is about to expire.

It's part of the RH crypto-utils package. This includes genkey:

DESCRIPTION
   genkey is an interactive command-line tool which can be used to
   generate SSL certificates or Certificate Signing Requests (CSR).

which might also be handy. (I tend use the easy-rsa tool that's part
of openvpn.) If you do include genkey you might consider using the
crypto-utils package name and keep things more or less in sync with
RH.

Package: wnpp

Severity: wishlist

Package name: ruby-factory-bot
Version : 4.8.2
Upstream Author : Josh Clayton , Joe Ferris

URL : https://github.com/thoughtbot/factory_bot
License : Expat
Programming Lang: Ruby
Description : Framework and DSL for defining and using model instance
factories.

factory_bot provides a fixtures replacement with a straightforward
definition syntax, support for multiple build strategies (saved
instances, unsaved instances, attribute hashes, and stubbed objects),
and support for multiple factories for the same class (user, admin_user,
and so on), including factory inheritance.

This packages supersedes ruby-factory-girl. The name "Factory Girl" was
confusing to some developers who encountered this library, and offensive
or problematic to others. In October 2017 the library was renamed to
"Factory Bot".

The new code isn't backwards compatible, therefore this package doesn't
introduce a transitional package for ruby-factory-girl. Currently, there
are only three reverse dependencies; I'll report bugs against these (and
their upstreams), once this package is available in the archive, to
switch accordingly.

This is a build dependency of schleuder.

This package will be maintained within the Debian Ruby team.

  Description : The poly1305 message authentication code

 Poly1305 is a fast, one-time authentication function created by
 Daniel J. Bernstein. It is infeasible for an attacker to generate
 an authenticator for a message without the key. However, a key must
 only be used for a single message. Authenticating two different
 messages with the same key allows an attacker to forge authenticators
 for other messages with the same key.

Owner: Federico Ceratto

* Package name: python-gitlab
  Version : 1.3.0
  Upstream Author : Gauvain Pocentek
* URL : https://github.com/python-gitlab/python-gitlab
* License : LGPLv3
  Programming Lang: Python
  Description : GitLab API client library for Python

Python 2/3 library for the GitLab APIs v3 and v4

This package is meant to replace the current package with same name
which contains a different library from
https://github.com/pyapi-gitlab/pyapi-gitlab/
Such library does not support API v4.
Also, the two libraries have clashing namespaces:

https://github.com/pyapi-gitlab/pyapi-gitlab/issues/263
https://github.com/python-gitlab/python-gitlab/issues/385

Alternatively, the new packaged could be named python-pygitlab and make
use of "Conflicts" to prevent clashing.

The package will be maintained under the "debian" group on:
https://salsa.debian.org/debian/python-pygitlab

  Description : find algebraic equations, given their solution

Given a number, ries searches for algebraic equations in one
variable that have a solution (root) near that number. It avoids
trivial or reducible solutions like ``x/x = 1''. If rhe input is
an integer, ries can find an exact solution
expressed in terms of single-digit integers.

The output gives progressively ``more complex'' equations
that come progressively closer to matching the input number.

Bug#620511: ITP: ipt-netflow -- netfilter target which sends traffic statistics via NetFlow

2018-03-21 Thread Axel Beckert
Hi,

A close-to-production, dkms-based packaging is available at
https://salsa.debian.org/debian/iptables-netflow

While the binary package name will be iptables-netflow-dkms, I'm still
unsure if I rather should go with upstream's "ipt-netflow" as the
source package name, or if I should stay with the current
"iptables-netflow" which closer to the binary package name.

Regards, Axel
