Description : desktop icon support for GNOME shell

This package provides a GNOME Shell extension for showing the contents
of ~/Desktop on the desktop of the Shell. Common file management
operations such as launching, copy/paste, rename and deleting are
supported.

This is replacing functionality that was in Nautilus prior to 3.28. It
uses D-Bus APIs provided by Nautilus to implement some of the features
mentioned above.

The GNOME team will maintain this package. I'll initially upload to
experimental, probably at least until there is a stable release as
opposed to a release candidate.

Description : reference implementation of secure world software for
ARMv8-A

ARM Trusted Firmware provides a reference implementation of secure world
software for `ARMv8-A`_, including a `Secure Monitor`_ executing at
Exception Level 3 (EL3). It implements various ARM interface standards,
such as:

- The `Power State Coordination Interface (PSCI)`_
- Trusted Board Boot Requirements (TBBR, ARM DEN0006C-1)
- `SMC Calling Convention`_
- `System Control and Management Interface`_

As far as possible the code is designed for reuse or porting to other
ARMv8-A model and hardware platforms.

ARM will continue development in collaboration with interested parties
to provide a full reference implementation of Secure Monitor code and
ARM standards to the benefit of all developers working with ARMv8-A
TrustZone technology.

--

This is needed to boot various arm64 boards (pine64, firefly-rk3399)
that may not have built-in firmware shipped with them, possibly in
conjunction with an EFI implementation or u-boot.

Some considerations when packaging this:

- Not all vendors are merged upstream; there are several vendor-specific
forks that are needed in order to support specific hardware, such as
  support for allwinner A64:
  https://github.com/apritzel/arm-trusted-firmware

I would definitely need some help with initial and long-term maintenance
to make this a reality...

live well,
  vagrant

Description : Simple Revision Control, single-file and single-user
version tracking

Provides a powerful modern user interface against an RCS or SCCS backend
(RCS is more reliable and preferred), giving a command line familiarity
to users with modern Subversion, Git, Hg experience, as well as a
reasonable introduction to this toolset to novices.

SRC is designed to provide its strength for single-file, single-user
version tracking. When it is overkill to make a whole directory and
multi-file repository store (under, for example, Git or Hg), src can
provide tracking for individual files instead. Examples of such might
be your ~/bin scripts, /etc files, personal notes, résumés, and any such
file that would be awkward to contain in a wholly separate directory
just for version control.

I intend to packate shellia for debian.
current URL: https://salsa.debian.org/bs/shellia

Shellia is a library that allows to run shell scripts interactive and helps to
familiarize oneself with large shell scripts, find the cause of unexpected
behaviour in shell scripts, and run shell scripts silently, while checking
them step by step.

Bug#914849: ITP: junixsocket -- Unix Domain Sockets in Java

2018-11-27 Thread Emmanuel Bourg
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Emmanuel Bourg

* Package name: junixsocket
  Version : 2.0.4
  Upstream Author : Christian Kohlschütter
* URL : https://github.com/kohlschutter/junixsocket
* License : Apache-2.0
  Programming Lang: Java, C++
Description : Unix Domain Sockets in Java

junixsocket is a Java/JNI library that allows the use of Unix Domain Sockets
(AF_UNIX sockets) from Java. In contrast to other implementations, junixsocket
extends the Java Sockets API (java.net.Socket, java.net.SocketAddress etc.)
and even supports RMI over AF_UNIX. It is also possible to use it in
conjunction with Connector/J to connect to a local MySQL server via Unix domain
sockets.

This package is required to build the byte-buddy-agent module in src:byte-buddy,
and then upgrade Mockito to the version 2.x.

That sounds great. It's not the easiest task but would certainly be a
nice addition to the Java ecosystem in Debian. You should be prepared to
fix security vulnerabilities in stable releases though.

Cheers,

My new $dayjob currently uses JBoss EAP, so I intend to work towards
having WildFly available in **bullseye**. I know this is a complex task,
but I see Markus has already packaged some jboss components/libs and
obviously this would be under the debian-java umbrella.

Description : GNU R solvers for large-scale eigenvalue and SVD problems
This package provides a R interface to the 'Spectra' library
  for large-scale eigenvalue and SVD
problems. It is typically used to compute a few
 eigenvalues/vectors of an n by n matrix, e.g., the k largest eigenvalues,
which is usually more efficient than eigen() if k << n. This package
provides the 'eigs()' function that does the similar job as in 'Matlab',
'Octave', 'Python SciPy' and 'Julia'. It also provides the 'svds()' function
to calculate the largest k singular values and corresponding
singular vectors of a real matrix. The matrix to be computed on can be
dense, sparse, or in the form of an operator defined by the user.

Remark: This package is maintained by Debian R Packages Maintainers at
   https://salsa.debian.org/r-pkg-team/r-cran-rspectra
This package is a predependency for my final target r-other-uwot.

Bug#914785: ITP: ibus-keyman -- Input method engine for multiple languages using Keyman for IBus

2018-11-27 Thread Daniel Glassey
Package: wnpp

Owner: Daniel Glassey

  Upstream Author : SIL International
* URL : http://www.keyman.com
* License : GPL, MIT/X
  Programming Lang: C
Description : Input method engine for multiple languages using Keyman for
IBus

This package provides the Keyman input method engine for IBus. With this
module, you can use Keyman keyboard layouts designed for Keyman 11.0 or
 earlier under the IBus platform.

-

This will be maintained in the Debian Input Method team

This is different from ibus-kmfl. ibus-kmfl provides supports for existing
source keyboards up to version 6.0 with limited support for newer source
keyboards that don't use particular new syntax.

ibus-keyman will support the full range of desktop keyboard packages
on https://keyman.com which are already supported on Microsoft, Apple,
Android and web platforms for the next version 11.0

It is in alpha in git so will go into experimental to start with for
the ITP until it gets to beta in a few weeks, provided it isn't too close
to the freeze.

Thanks,
Daniel

Description : Type in your language with Keyman for Linux

-

It produces 2 packages
keyman: scripts - km-config gui and some command line scripts
python3-keyman-config: python module

The package will be maintained in the Debian Input Method team.

These programs manage the keyboards to be used (for now) by ibus-kmfl
and (in development) ibus-keyman, and make them available for IBus.
The keyboards are available on https://keyman.com for a large
number of languages.

The current release, late alpha, is at
