Bug#969620: ITP: metakernel -- Jupyter kernel base class

2020-09-05 Thread Joseph Nahmias
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Joseph Nahmias

* Package name: metakernel
  Version : 0.27.0
Upstream Author : Metakernel Development Team
* URL : https://github.com/Calysto/metakernel
* License : BSD
  Programming Lang: Python
Description : Jupyter kernel base class

Metakernel is a Jupyter kernel base class in Python which includes core magic
functions (including help, command and file path completion, parallel and
distributed processing, downloads, and much more).

It is used by numerous other kernels for Jupyter, including for my purposes the
octave kernel.

Happy to have co-maintainers and/or place it under the rubric of the Debian
Python team.

Hi,

the main problem with cgmanager was that it was based on libnih and
so inherited it's penchant for using select(), so it was easy to make
it crash by running out of selectable fds.

Serge, what's the current upstream status, or would it make more
sense to RM cgmanager now?

Bug#969586: O: iwd -- wireless daemon for Linux

2020-09-05 Thread Andreas Henriksson
Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

I intend to orphan the iwd package in the next upload.

The package description is:
Minimalistic wireless daemon that uses modern Linux interfaces like
cfg80211 and nl80211 (netlink). The daemon provides a D-Bus API.
 .
The daemon can be controlled from the command line with the included
 iwctl client utility.
 .
The included iwmon utility can be used to monitor the 802.11 subsystem
generic netlink commands and events. It uses the nlmon kernel driver
 from Linux 3.10 and later.

Andreas Henriksson

Bug#969585: ITP: ruby-uri-template -- templating system for URIs

2020-09-05 Thread Pirate Praveen

Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Pirate Praveen

From https://rubygems.org/gems/uri_template

A templating system for URIs, which implements RFC6570 and Colon based
URITemplates in a clean and straight forward way.
.
With URITemplate you can generate URIs based on simple templates and
extract
variables from URIs using the same templates. There are currently two
syntaxes
defined. Namely the one defined in RFC 6570 and a colon based syntax,
similiar

to the one used by sinatra.

Dependency of gitlab 13.3

Correction: Poetry has not yet been uploaded to Debian, so there is no
sense in asking ftpmaster for prioritizing it. Instead, it might help
to post an email to 947...@bugs.debian.org and making them aware that
duniterpy is waiting for that package to be finalized.

duniterpy uses poetry, which is not yet in Debian.

Poetry has been waiting since december for ftpmaster approval. It might
help to join the irc channel #debian-ftp on OFTC.net and ask nicely if
possible to prioritize processing of poetry with the reason that it is
needed for recent releases of silkaj.

Great news, thanks a lot for the summary!

So we could close this ITP (#960788, since in the end no new source
package will be introduced) in favor of #949019 and #962134, which
could themselves be merged, right? I'm happy to do the BTS paperwork
if this makes sense to you folks :)

This is great news too. With my Tails hat on I'll suppose this will
take some time on the Debian/Lenovo side.

Cheers!
