Bug#1031665: ITP: libmojolicious-plugin-templatetoolkit-perl -- Template Toolkit renderer plugin for Mojolicious

2023-02-19 Thread mtj
Package: wnpp
Owner: Mason James
Severity: wishlist
X-Debbugs-CC: debian-de...@lists.debian.org, debian-p...@lists.debian.org

* Package name: libmojolicious-plugin-templatetoolkit-perl
  Version : 0.006
  Upstream Author : Dan Book
* URL :
https://metacpan.org/release/Mojolicious-Plugin-TemplateToolkit
* License : Artistic-2.0
  Programming Lang: Perl
  Description : Template Toolkit renderer plugin for Mojolicious

Mojolicious::Plugin::TemplateToolkit is a renderer for tt2 or Template
Toolkit templates. See Template and Template::Manual for details on the
Template Toolkit format, and Mojolicious::Guides::Rendering for general
information on rendering in Mojolicious.

Along with template files, inline and data section templates can be rendered
in the standard Mojolicious fashion. Template files and data sections will be
retrieved using Mojolicious::Renderer via Template::Provider::Mojo for both
direct rendering and directives such as INCLUDE. This means that instead of
specifying INCLUDE_PATH|Template::Manual::Config/"INCLUDE_PATH", you should
set Mojolicious::Renderer/"paths" to the appropriate paths.

 $app->renderer->paths(['/path/to/templates']);

 push @{$app->renderer->paths}, '/path/to/more/templates';

The package will be maintained under the umbrella of the Debian Perl Group.

Good point. I did not think about it twice once recalled that
nvidia-cuda-toolkit
is in non-free. I have pushed the suggested changes to the git repo

g...@salsa.debian.org:nvidia-team/nvidia-nccl.git

I think it is ready to enter the NEW queue. Will do it soon.

I suspect the name is a bit too generic for a debian package and/or
executable file name.

I think it's because the library contains an example which produces a
binary. It will confuse dh-make-golang.
So dh-make-golang has an option, you can use `dh-make-golang make
-type library`.

Besides, after dh-make-golang creating the template, you should adjust
debian/rules with:

```
export DH_GOLANG_EXCLUDES := examples
```

This usage is documented at
https://manpages.debian.org/bullseye/dh-golang/Debian::Debhelper::Buildsystem::golang.3pm.en.html#DH_GOLANG_EXCLUDES
(Yeah, we know the manpage name is difficult to find..)

It doesn't sound quite right. roff is a file format. Does the package
really need to be called `roff`?

This is 404. I assume you mean https://github.com/muesli/roff

Then the package name is really wrong. It's a Go library, the name
should be golang-github-muesli-roff.

As neither Cristian nor myself have time to maintain
this package, I am requesting an adopter. I have also
filed an RFA for libtorrent-rasterbar which is an
essential dependency for deluge. Ideally, a new
maintainer would adopt both.

As I was not personally a user of the web front-end or
the daemon, there is a lot of room for improvement to
those parts of this package.

I'd be happy to sponsr uploads for any perspective
maintainers.

Thanks,

Bug#1031610: RFP: external-editor-revived -- Thunderbird MailExtension which allows using external editors

2023-02-19 Thread Martin
Package: wnpp
Owner: deba...@debian.org
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: external-editor-revived
  Version : 0.6.0
  Upstream Author : Frederick Zhang
* URL or Web page : https://github.com/Frederick888/external-editor-revived/
* License : GPL-3
  Programming Lang: Rust, Javascript
  Description : Thunderbird MailExtension which allows using external
editors

External Editor Revived is a Thunderbird MailExtension which allows
editing emails in programs such as Vim, Neovim, Emacs, etc.

Since Thunderbird no longer supports XUL extensions, it's not possible
to launch external programs directly with an extension alone.

External Editor Revived uses a companion native messaging host which
launches editors externally instead. Thunderbird starts the messaging
host, sends all the info over to it via stdio, and waits for responses
to update emails accordingly.
