Hello Nick,

This comes extremely late, my apologies. However:

You don't need my permission to adopt it. When you find an uploading
Debian Member who could guide and upload the package for you, you're
welcome to update the package with your patches and other potential
changes.

Bug#980305: RFA: libcddb2

2021-01-17 Thread Eugene V. Lyubimkin
Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

Hello,

The libcddb package needs a new maintainer. I no longer have time nor
interest to maintain it properly.

I had adopted it many years as a dependency of a package I no longer
maintain. It was very low-maintenance until recently; there are now two
outstanding bug reports which require attention [1].

If you maintain one of Debian packages that depend on libcddb (Cc:d),
you might be interested in adopting it.

Bug#972869: RFA: fmtlib

2020-10-25 Thread Eugene V. Lyubimkin
Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

Hello,

This package needs a more responsive maintainer. I unfortunately haven't
had enough time for months and this is unlikely to change in the near
future.

fmtlib is a modern C++ library, it provides fast and type-safe
replacement of (s)printf and related machinery.

What needs to be done:
 - package a new upstream release;
 - solve a (documentation-related) FTBFS;
 - potentially make a shared library instead of a static library.

Bug#785408: ITP: cppformat -- fast type-safe C++ formatting library

  Description : fast type-safe C++ formatting library

This library provides fast, type-safe, small, C++11-aware replacement of

Bug#750924: RFA: qmmp -- feature-rich audio player with support of many formats

2014-09-11 Thread Eugene V. Lyubimkin
Hi,

2014-09-09 11:55, Matteo Cypriani:
 I'm not a DD, only DM, so I'll need someone to grant me the upload rights on
 the packet. I asked a friend of mine to do it (and do a quick review too), but
 if you have some time to take care of the handover yourself, that would
 actually be great.

I'm not going to grant DM upload permissions without several packages uploads at

knows you and your work already, just go ahead.

Thank you for volunteering for maintaining qmmp!

 I'm willing to adopt qmmp, I already started working on it. Hopefully I'll be
 able to upload the last upstream version (0.8.1) before the freeze.

Great!

 Eugene, I noticed you used GPL-3 as the version for your packaging work;
 would you mind if I relicenced debian/* under the Expat license, so that the
 files can be used in any other Debian package? If not, what about GPL-2+,
 which is the main license used in Qmmp?

Same license as in Qmmp seems reasonable.

I hereby declare that all my work in debian/ directory of qmmp
package(s) uploaded to Debian official archive, can be taken under
GPL-2+ license.

Bug#728811: RFA: exiftags -- utility to read Exif tags from a digital camera JPEG file

2013-11-05 Thread Eugene V. Lyubimkin

Hello,

I would like to request an adopter for the package 'exiftags'. Note that
maintaining a package requires time and skills.

The package description is:

 The exiftags utility parses a specified JPEG file or, by default, its
 standard input, looking for a JPEG APP1 section containing Exif

 data are then printed to the standard output. Digital cameras typically
 add Exif data to the image files they produce, containing information

Bug#545710: O:html2text

2013-05-12 Thread Eugene V. Lyubimkin
Hi,

 Before doing the NMU, have you contacted Eugene, the current maintainer?

Thanks for heads-up, Thomas.

  I have created a package fixing the build error relating to hardening
  support
  http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/h/html2text/html2text_1.3.2a-16.1.dsc

  I am not sure if I really want to adopt this package, but this fixes
  some issues and cleaning of the package and of course the issue I
  mentioned above. I can't upload it, since I am not a DM but if anybody
  wants to check it out and upload it, then you are free to do so.

  This package was once labeled as RFH, so I intended to help, but it
  seems to be up for adoption at the moment

Thanks for caring. As was pointed out, proposed changes are indeed too
big and diversified for NMU. The package indeeds needs new maintainer,
so feel free to adopt it, they you are free to make these and other
changes if you want.

Bug#444392: miniupnpc upload

2010-11-22 Thread Eugene V. Lyubimkin
[ CC'ed some interested persons ]

Hi,

Thomas, I don't consider the availability of the 'iptables.h' a blocker for
uploading, and here is why.

The status quo, as I understand, is 'several packages embed miniupnpc in their
source trees'. I considering this situation as much worse than 'single,
properly packaged miniupnpc embedding one single header file'.

Not having this package also blocks one of my sponsoree's packages to be
updated.

Please upload your packaging to Debian unstable/experimental soon. Otherwise I
will have to do a hijack attempt (or leave this action for any willing DD in
CC if he/she wants) with sponsoring Adam's packaging which looks overall good
to me except of easily resolvable details.

Bug#545710: RFA: html2text -- advanced HTML to text converter

2009-09-08 Thread Eugene V. Lyubimkin
Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

I request an adopter for the html2text package.

The package description is:
 html2text is a converter from HTML to plain text.
 .
 html2text reads HTML documents supplied in the command line (or from standard
 input), converts each of them into a stream of plain text characters and
 writes output to the file or the terminal.
 .
 Debian version also can recognize encoding of documents, do on-fly
 input and output recoding.
 .
 html2text was written because the author wasn't happy with the
 output of lynx -dump and so he wrote something better.

The package contains significant Debian changes (see README.Debian).

The upstream maintainer seems to be not reachable.

Description: alternative front-end for dpkg -- console interface

 This package provides a console interface to Cupt library, which is a
 re-implementation of libapt-pkg C++ library using Perl. The aim is to
 produce more strict, more robust, less buggy front-end than APT.
 .
 Cupt uses the same APT infrastructure, e.g. index files, deb cache
 archive files, configuration files. It understands some of widely used APT
 options.
 .
 Some features:
  - strict full-case resolver;
  - command-line and APT-like option name checker;
  - case-sensitive search;
  - pinning by source package name;
  - pinning by package groups using shell-like patterns;
  - configurable 'depends' and 'rdepends' subcommands;
  - 'satisfy' subcommand.
 .
 Its interface is mostly like apt-get/aptitude console interface.
