Bug#635065: RFP: whatweb -- Next generation web scanner' from 'ITP: whatweb -- Next generation web scanner

2012-03-05 Thread Guillaume Delacour
I don't think i have the time to maintain another package (which is ruby
written, so that i don't really know), but i think it could be
interesting to introduce it to Debian; please find attached the work
i've started a few months ago, if it could be maybe reusable by the
future maintainer.

Bug#656891: RFP: bacula-gui -- Bweb is a Bacula web interface

2012-01-22 Thread Guillaume Delacour
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-
Hash: SHA256

* Package name: bacula-gui
  Version : 5.0.3
  Upstream Author : Kern Sibbald k...@sibbald.com
* URL : http://sourceforge.net/projects/bacula/
* License : GPL
  Programming Lang: Perl
  Description : Bweb is a Bacula web interface

bacula-gui contains bweb which is a web interface for managing bacula:
reporting, clients status, media management, restore (needs libjs-extjs), etc.
Upstream tarball contains an old debian/ directory which is maybe a good
way to start packaging bweb. Maybe more appropriate to name the package bweb.

At this time, bacula version 5.0.3 is in the archive and i think the version
of bweb needs to be the same (for compatibility and the catalog schema ?).

bacula-gui also contains brestore which is a Perl/Gtk console for restoring
files. The tool seems to be quite old and bat included in the bacula project
seems to be more powerfull.

Finally, the bacula-gui tarball also contains bacula-web, which is a reporting
only web tool written in PHP; the project was abandonned in the last few years
and has been revived in 2011 and distributed outside bacula-gui (so no need
to package it).

But i intented to clean debian/rules to be more close than others

 Guillaume, you claimed to be willing to adopt this package in #530621,
 but to lack a sponsor. If you still intend to work on this package, i
 would be glad to sponsor you.

Because the freeze date approching, this might be great if we can upload
it soon to close 7 bugs.

Hello,

 I see you half a year ago you wrote ITP for a package of php-imagick and
 currently do not have time to do.

Yes, the package did not have been uploaded since this date.
I don't manage to find a sponsor to upload it in the archive.

 I updated the package to the latest version (3.0.0b2) and fix lintian errors
 and two bugs.

I'm not sure that the latest beta version is a good idea.
I would have preferred using stable 2.3.0 version (?).

 I can send you a complete package, or if you do not mind, will be maintainer.

Before taking over a package, it's good to wait some days/weeks after
pinging the owner.

Anyway, you can take over this package: consider joining the
pkg-php-maint team to maintain this package and find sponsors for upload.

Bug#467337: Bogomips works but yet usefull ?

2009-04-07 Thread Guillaume Delacour
You're not right; there is some tricks in README file that shows all
MakeFile targets available:

$ make bogo586
gcc -g -O3 -Wall   -c -o bogomips.o bogomips.c
gcc -g -O3 -Wall   -c -o delay_586.o delay_586.c
gcc -g -O3 -Wall bogomips.o delay_586.o -o bogo586
$ ./bogo586
Calibrating delay loop... 2811.49 BogoMIPS

$ cat /proc/cpuinfo |grep -i bogo
bogomips: 4332.48
bogomips: 4327.62

But because this software is unmaintained since 2005 (files COPYING,
README, etc...) it maybe not a good idea to package it.

Everybody agree with closing this wnpp ?

Bug#492442: Pecl package is unmaintained since 2006/11

2009-03-16 Thread Guillaume Delacour

Fileinfo pecl package is unmaintained anymore [1] and Php team
announced that fileinfo is included in PHP 5.3.x release [2]. A
detailed procedure to build this pecl module with Debian way [3] is
generaly sufficient for having fileinfo support.

1: http://pecl.php.net/package/Fileinfo, moved to php-src/ext/fileinfo
2: http://qa.php.net/,  (5.3.0beta1 at this time)
3:
http://www.dotdeb.org/2008/09/25/how-to-package-php-extensions-by-yourself/

I think that this bug can be assigned to php5 package and closed when
PHP 5.3.x will be included in sid.

In case if packaging of php-fileinfo is *really* needed, i could adopt
and work and it.

Bug#516881: nc6 -- TCP/IP swiss army knife with IPv6 support

2009-03-14 Thread Guillaume Delacour
Hello,

I think this is a good idea to drop the package since this tools does
not have so much release (i just see this after ITA it :s)

After some investigations, i see that:

- nc.openbsd (netcat-openbsd package) have IPv6 and UDP support
- nc6 have many supports like bluetooth support [1] via L2CAP
protocol (yet used ?), buffer size, half-close, mtu and nru. I don't
know if these features are useful for actual users of nc6 [2]
- socat seems to have same features that nc.openbsd have (IPv6,
UDP, etc..)

1: nc6(1)
2: http://qa.debian.org/popcon.php?package=nc6

So the problem does not seems to be the IPv6 support but other
features of nc6...

Le Sat, 14 Mar 2009 14:38:09 +0100,
Luca Bruno lu...@debian.org a écrit :

 Hi Guillame,
 what are the features strictly relevant to nc6 over other advanced
 conections tools (eg. socat), to justify the existence of a separate
 package?
 If it only add ipv6 support and an enhanced support for UDP, I would
 really say that socat already does this (and much more!).

 Given that upstream seems dead and there's a great mess with various
 netcat flavors, wouldn't be better to coordinate with other developers
 to try porting the v6 patch to the mainstream flavors and drop this
 package?

 Ciao, Luca

Bug#413115: Abandonment of glsof

2009-01-18 Thread Guillaume Delacour
After many mails exchanged with upstream, it appears that glsof is
currently re-written in Java (svn revision 63). I based my work (svn

problem because this C version will not be maintained in the future

Bug#413115: Building glsof

2008-12-21 Thread Guillaume Delacour

I'm trying to build glsof, this interesting frontend of lsof.

Source version is quite old (2006) but stable.

As Giovanni previously mentioned, the build from 0.10.0alpha-pre4 is
impossible. I start my work by downloading latest release from here (as
upstream author say exactly the same thing at
http://glsof.sourceforge.net/?q=node/31:)

$ svn co https://svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/glsof glsof

I need to test my package building with pbuilder (this failed tonight)
but all the other process seems to be ok. I think packages ready in a
few days (maybe after Christmas).
