Bug#696448: ITP: lvtk -- LV2 C++ wrappers and utilities
Hi Alessio! Description : LV2 C++ wrappers and utilities LV2 Toolkit is a set C++ wrappers around the LV2 C API. The included libraries ease writing LV2 plugins and UIs in C++ by inheriting from easy to use template classes. . LV2 is a portable plugin standard for audio systems, similar in scope to LADSPA, VST, AU, and others. . This package provides the development headers. I'm afraid there is a word missing in the first paragraph ( s/set/set of/). And the third paragraph should be used only for lvtk-dev? Dear Mathieu, the short description exceeds 80 characters and there was a typo in the long description. Please consider Description: Perl modules and scripts for manipulating SGML and XML DTDs The DTDParse collection is a set of Perl modules and scripts for manipulating SGML and XML Document Type Definitions (DTDs). DTDParse is designed primarily to aid in the understanding and documentation of DTDs. Hi Thomas, your descriptions exceeds 80 characters per line. Please consider Description : maven plugin to compile Google Web Toolkit applications GWT Maven Plugin supports : * GWT compiler execution for packaging your application into a WAR Compile and Debug * generate GWT internationalization (i18n) interfaces from bundles internationalization * running tests (or test suites) based on GWTTestCase framework as part of Maven build, Testing Support * run (or debug) in DevMode from Maven DevMode * generate boiler code for GWT-RPC Async interface from synchronous server-side interfaces Generate Async interfaces for GWT-RPC * integrate nicely into Eclipse, thanks to M2Eclipse and the Google plugin for Eclipse. as enumerations in the package description are displayed verbatim with monospaced fonts. Sanchezpsanc...@fosstel.com Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist Hi Pedro, if I understand things right, you missed a CC to | cont...@bugs.debian.org and a separate line thanks to make your control commands become effictive. | * Package name : maxwell Version : 1.2-1 Upstream Author : Sandy Harrissandyinch...@gmail.com * URL : ftp://ftp.cs.sjtu.edu.cn:990/sandy/maxwell/ * License : GPL v2 Programming Language : C * Description : entropy-gathering daemon Daemon to gather entropy from a timer and feed it to random(4). maxwell collects randomness from the small variations in a system timer, distills it into a concentrated form, and sends it to random (4). The amount of output varies with the parameters chosen, but is generally a few K bits per second. The quality is intended to be very high. Both volume and quality should be adequate for most applications. There are a number of other ways to feed entropy to random (4). The advantage of maxwell is that it is small, simple and only minimally hardware-dependent. The other methods also have advantages, and in many cases one of them will be preferable to this one. Please consider an informal review of the package description on debian-l10n-english as well. To me the first paragraph is an incomplete sentence and its information is contained in the second as well. How about The maxwell daemon collects randomness from the small variations in a system timer, distills it into a concentrated form, and sends it to random(4). And most of the last two paragraphs seems vague and trivial. Both volume and quality should be adequate for most applications. A typical use case would help. The other methods also have advantages, and in many cases one of them will be preferable to this one. The advantages are trivial. The alternate methods are not mentioned. What are the criteria? And perhaps some words on why the name would not hurt. Some people primarly think of electromagnetic fields when they hear/read Maxwell. BTW: I strongly suggest s/random (4)/random(4)/ and appreciate the hint to the manual page. Martin -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-wnpp-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#679406: ITP: web2ldap -- Full-featured web-based LDAPv3 client
Hi Marc, one more time it feels a little bit strange to me talking to a German in English. web2ldap is a generic LDAPv3 client which does not make any assumptions about the tree structure or LDAP schema. It is therefore ind of a swiss-army knife for accessing/manipulating LDAP servers without having to configure anything. I believe s/ind/kind/ was your intention. The original sources must be repacked since they contain an ASN.1 parser module with a non-free license. Web2ldap works without this parser, so the module was simply removed. I suggest s/must/had to be/ and skipping the paragraph. The whole paragraph is very implementation-specific in my opinion. Perhaps there is a better place for this kind of information?
