Bug#890504: O: qdbm -- QDBM Database

2018-02-15 Thread Satoru KURASHIKI
Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

I intend to orphan the qdbm package.

qdbm is completely dead software, but has some rdepends. e.g. php.

Maintainer field is unchanged, because I can't upload the package
which set Maintainer field other than me.

The package description is:
 QDBM is an embeded database library compatible with GDBM and NDBM.
 It features hash database and B+ tree database and is developed referring
 to GDBM for the purpose of the following three points: higher processing
 speed, smaller size of a database file, and simpler API.
 This is the runtime package for programs that use the QDBM database
 library.

Bug#890502: O: hyperestraier -- full-text search system for communities

2018-02-15 Thread Satoru KURASHIKI
Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

I intend to orphan the hyperestraier package.

For someone interested in adopting this software, please note:
  - hyperestraier is completely dead software and users should consider
moving to other modern search solutions (sphinx, groonga, and so on).

Maintainer field is unchanged, because I can't upload the package
which set Maintainer field other than me.

The package description is:
 Hyper Estraier is a full-text search system. You can search lots of documents
 for some documents including specified words. If you run a web site, it is
 useful as your own search engine for pages in your site. Also, it is useful as
 search utilities of mail boxes and file servers.
 The characteristic of Hyper Estraier is the following.
  * High performance of search
  * High scalability of target documents
  * Perfect recall ratio by N-gram method
  * Phrase search, attribute search, and similarity search
  * Multilingualism with Unicode
  * Independent of file format and repository
  * Simple and powerful API
  * Supporting P2P architecture
 It is redesigned Estraier and you can connect several index nodes over
 the network using node API.

I've changed my mind, sorry for confusing.
It would be better that this package be maintained by ruby specialists
rather than me.

So I would like Ruby team to take over this ITP (CC: debian-ruby).
What shouldI do for this? change bug owner to ruby team?

 Is there any progress on this packaging project? Now that the

I've packaged old version (1.1.0) locally, so I will update it ( to 1.2.0) and

 Thanks Michal, I hope I did not miss other dependencies.

 Hello Kurashiki, are you working on python-social-auth in the
 jessie timeframe?

Maybe.

It's waiting for being sponsord, please see:
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=743592

My ITP is for using weblate on debian, so if you plan to package weblate itself,
I think it had better that DD maintain it with its dependencies :-)

I've removed DMUA field and re-uploaded to mentors. Please recheck it.

 Also, upstream has released a new version recently:

Sorry for late reply,

I've uploaded updated (0.53) packages to mentors.debian.net and file RFS.

I'm glad if you test them.
Indeed they are almost same as upstrem's deb package, only modified to
follow debian policy.

I'm not touched its pre-configuration and init scripts because I think that
this software needs to be customized site by site.
But any suggestions are welcome.
