I'll agree here, the tarball from PPA does not have JFTR, I don't have any particular interest on this package, But I was helping a friend to review it and notice all the effort that this will require and since there is a lot of people willing to have this package on Debian sharing the approach made by Jonathan can be a good idea. I'll agree here, the tarball from PPA does not have eerr, sorry for leave this not complete ↑ all the quality needed to be included on Debian, it lacks references from the copyright, and I'm not sure but I could bet that some of the icons will need to be removed due to trademark issues. Bug#595106: Faenza Icon Theme
Here's a quick update. I put in some work getting the package completely clean and getting it in good shape for upload. I uploaded it to mentors.debian.net, and it got rejected. The basis for the rejection was licensing, since the package that Adnan originally put together included the PNG versions of the icons, but not the SVG versions. The concern was that the images were licensed under a GPL license, so their source must be available. It was suggested that I look at the PPA version in launchpad.net, since it may actually build the PNGs from source at build time. I checked the PPA version, it doesn't actually build the PNGs from the SVGs, but it does include the SVGs. Since Debian freeze is imminent, I'm going to give it a stab with an upload based on that package. Hey Jonathan, There's actually been a lot of movement, I made the packages for every version of Faenza so far, working great, even had the author package the icons just for Debian. However when it got to mentors for me them to upload it there would always be some kind of problem even when there wasn't any. There's even one in mentors right now.
