My guess is the CSS saying that the logo must have a negative margin somewhere. Not certain if it is epiphany not following standards (I kinda doubt it) or other browsers not implementing the standards correctly. I'll try and look at the style sheet to see if I can identify the margin issue. Jeremiah -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-www-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Re: Kalle's Proposal: gitweb
- Original message - We seem to have a smaller layout issue with epiphany. http://people.debian.org/~zobel/Screenshot-dsa.debian.org.png Ideas? My hunch is that Epiphany is set up with a very small font. Epiphany takes the font size from the gnome settings which usually means a much smaller font than the standard web browser 16pt. When the text shrinks the logo is pushed up to keep the logo text in line with the breadcrumbs. Hmm.. Perhaps a min-height to the navbar and logo can solve the issue. Will have a look when I can find the time. Keep'em coming! -- Kalle Soderman | http://www.kalleswork.net -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-www-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Re: derivatives distro census
Hi again! * Stefano Zacchiroli z...@debian.org [2010-07-06 13:49:22 CEST]: On Tue, Jul 06, 2010 at 01:34:59PM +0200, Gerfried Fuchs wrote: Once more: I believe the crux is more in how do we send out the message Debian wants to do a one-shot derivatives census, to get its indexes up to date again, than in how we technically collect the results. Small try: http://identi.ca/notice/39943828 :) Re-dented ;-) Noted. ;) But I think we definitely can do better on the childen-distros page itself. I am not really objecting to adding logos (if they aren't too big) of the children distros to the page too to make it look more appealing. ACK. Here is another suggestion: have the main page contain only the list of derivatives distro and move paragraph describing them to sub-pages. That would allow to have differently-sized text without worrying to much about the fact they won't be uniform on the main page. Ideally, we should have a nice logo-cloud on that page, but that would considerably require more effort, I think. You mean like the split of the user page was done some few years ago: http://www.debian.org/users/ was a single page in the old days until I started on scripts to split it without losing translations and annoying translators. Sure, can and should definitely be done, consider it put onto some obscure todo list. :) The idea about the logo cloud sounds convincing, but first we'd need to collect them. Thanks for the brainstorming!
