I don't understand what he means. I don't use things like GNOME...

Package: xserver-xorg-input-mouse
Version: 1:1.5.0-1
Severity: important

Using a standard installation of kfreebsd-i386,
I cannot get the mouse to be recognized by X11.
I first tried hal (no /etc/X11/xorg.conf)
then, following the little information
that I could find on the web, a minimal
xorg.conf configuration (see below).

With the present configuration, a mouse is reported
but is unresponsive.

Relevant lines from dmesg:

ums0: on usbus0
ums0: 5 buttons and [XYZ] coordinates ID=17

Thank you.

The color of the pointer is always white and I cannot change it,
either with the pointerColor resource, or with the -ms option,
even though I get:

vin:~> appres XTerm | grep pointerColor
*pointerColor: red

Even if I change the foreground color with "xterm -fg red", the
pointer remains white, though the xterm man page says:

   -ms color
This option specifies the color to be used for the pointer
cursor. The default is to use the foreground color. This
sets the pointerColor resource.

This problem seems to have appeared when I reinstalled my machine
in 64 bits (x86_64), but I'm not sure.

When you enable a second display (e.g. external VGA) which has higher
vertical res than the existing display, then the panel moves to be at
the bottom of the larger display. (This is good - a panel in the
middle of a projection display is unhelpful).

However when you turn that display off (or it is unplugged thus no
longer available), the panel stays where it was and thus is no longer
visible on the remaining display. This is particularly confusing if
you use autohide.

It would be good if the panel noticed these changes in both directions
and calulated its best position whever a screen is added or removed,
in order to keep itself visible on screens that are currently in use.

xterm display will freeze intermitently, allowing commands to be run but not
showing keystrokes or results. Oddly, if this "freeze" bug occurs when I'm
typing, the freeze will eat the word I'm typing and display everything up to
the previous space in the command. Alt-Tab and window resize both cause the
screen to refresh and display everything, but not for long. It *seems* that
after rebooting, it wont happen for a while, but when it does finally happen,
it does so regularly.

I'm not sure what packeage is the cause. I thought it may be the graphics
driver or something else, but the bug specifically affects my xterm usage. A
similar "freeze" bug happens with flash, where alt-tab causes videos to
unfreeze, but I'm not sure that's related.

Also, I was using testing/wheezy exclusively when this bug started (fresh
install a few days ago). I included the unstable repositories to see if a
bleeding-egde version of *anything* would fix these issues, but they're still
happening.

Package: xserver-xorg-video-intel
Version: 2:2.15.0-3

This has been going on for a few months but before that it was fine. I
think I keep submitting bugs through "reportbug" and it just silently
throws them away.

So this is a problem with opengl and dri2 and the x driver that started
a few months ago with an intel driver update. Waking up the screensaver
causes X to crash half the time with a bad drawable error. But if the
screen goes off, after this happens, one has to hit the power button, it
doesn't even drop to console.

This is the Xorg log from one of those:

Hi, I had found that when I run balazar, balazarbrothers or balazar3 on
a fresh testing install (i386) a SIGSEGV occurs.

Xorg still has some endianness issues.

How to reproduce:

Xterm from big endian client (Mac Linux) to small endian server (pc)
(or reverse). Any desktop environment, try to switch keyboard
layouts. Example - undef xfce switch between Bulgarian and English
keyboard.

At best - does not work (xfce from panel)

At worst X on the xterm dies outright (xfce from kbd properties).

Same in KDE3/4.

This happened at any KDE version I tested here.
I have an EEE PC 1005 HA (Netbook). When using KDE, any application, my
window
go to gray and I need use the shortcuts to Hibernate and return the PC
again,
or I never see my window again.

But this is a bad problem: I lost my internet connection, my downloads, my
copying operations and this happens frequently! And don't have time to
happen, can be now, can be in 10 minutes or 1 hour...

If I use another monitor connected at my netbook, the other monitor don't go
to
gray, only the EEE PC window (see, I'm was testing another monitor here, and
if
this happened when I'm was trying presents something at work or client?

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
It's frequentily, but I'm unable to reproduce, simple happens...

Already posted at KDE bugs, but KDE team directed me to another place.

Hello, i have this stange problem, and, i can't google solution.

Step to reproduce in PC witch two video card in my case PCI (ATI 3D Rage) and
PCI-E
(GeForce GTS 250) :

1. Setup bios to use PCI card first (ATI 3D Rage in my case), and run linux
   on it.
2. Setup Xorg.conf to use PCI-E card (GeForce GTS 250 in my case)
3. Run xorg
4. Press ++. Console VT1 dons show, only black screan.
5. Press ++ - you back to X
6. exit xorg - the screen is bank/black for all consoles VT .

Testen on nv and nvidia(from nvida) driver for second card, so it seams to be
driver independent.

Screen stays ok on VT1 when use -sharevts flag for xorg, but when i comeback
from X mouse and keybord dont work'ing.

If tiling is enabled and VGA1 output is connected to a secondary
display, and then a program is started that uses 3D graphics and
rendering acceleration
(as for example tuxracer), and the program is terminated, then
sometimes(!) the output
on VGA1 remains active, but the LVDS1 (laptop display) remains blank and
cannot be
reenabled by any means but restarting the X server. It is not possible
to re-enable
the laptop screen by turning the VGA output off (then both screens
remain blank) or re-
setting the LVDS1 xrandr panning or framebuffer settings. The best one
can get out of

the machine in this state is:

xrandr: Configure crtc 1 invalid time

Package: xserver-xorg-video-intel

*** Please type your report below this line ***

In a cloned display setup, i.e. LVDS1 output is cloned to VGA1 output
with panning enabled on both screens, the LVDS1 screen is scrolled
correctly when

the mouse pointer reaches the screen boundaries, but the VGA1 output remains
where it is and is not scrolled.

Package: xserver-xorg-core
Version: 2:1.7.7-13

I have installed backbox windows manager, when i start xserver xorg all does
work properly but when i exit, the screen does make black and the sistem is not
usable. I try to change session with "ctrl-alt-del" but i see anything; i try
to kill xserver with "ctrl-alt-space" but i see anythig, too. The only way is
to make "ctrl-alt-del" and to reboot the system. I am not able to start "sudo
xorg -configure" because i see a black screen and the only way also in this
case is to reboot the sistem.
I have a small laptop "panasonic cf-m34" with a silicom motion video chip
controller and 4mb video ram.

I am using debian squeeze 6.0.2 with a generic 2.6-i686 kernel.

Can you try booting a 3.11 kernel with radeon.dpm=1 on the kernel
command line?

Aha. That is much, much better. 3.11 without radeon.dpm=1 behaves
the same as 3.10; 3.11 _with_ radeon.dpm=1 quiets everything down. I
don't know why it had not occurred to me it could be the fan for the
radeon, not the CPUs :(.

That being said, it seems like radeon.dpm=1 should be the default
behavior.

Write a SYN_REPORT after the last LED

When writing LED values to the device, append a SYN_REPORT to the list to
ensure other clients are updated immediately. Otherwise, the LED events

This is not going to change in wheezy. It may, or may not, get resolved
later. I suggest you use a chroot for your 32-bit builds.

This won't be fixed in wheezy (even more so since it's not fixed in
unstable).

Bug#689088: libgl1-mesa-dev is not Multi-Arch compatible

2013-10-07 Thread Laurent Aguerreche
One year later this bug still happens on Wheezy. Do maintainers plan to fix
it for this version or is it something that needs a lot of work to get it
done right? Will it be fixed in the next stable (is it already available in
testing?)?

Currently I'm unable to build 32 and 64 bits OpenGL programs on my computer
because of this issue (or I have to install by hand a symbolic link to
/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libGL.so.1).

Regards.
Laurent.

This commit causes compilation failures ("'SI' undeclared"), which,
embarrassingly enough, I failed to notice earlier.

Patch #297 - 2013/09/10

 * modify check for missing cells in bitmap font to work around
terminus 10646 encoding, which is mostly missing, add
assumeAllChars resource to provide the older behavior.

It's configurable, as noted (it would be nice if font maintainers did something
about bug reports, but I don't recall any successes in that venue).

Package: libgl1-mesa-glx
Version: 9.1.6-3
Severity: normal
Tags: patch

Hi,

please add a Breaks: glx-diversions (<< 0.4) to libgl1-mesa-glx to
ensure clean upgrades from MESA 8 to MESA 9 if the proprietary drivers
are being used. MESA 9 ships libGL.so.1.2.0 which needs to be diverted
by glx-diversions, too.

Patch will follow.

Thanks

Andreas

commit 88513d6485f55fe33a0a40d9394ede6dc0d2feec
Author: Chris Forbes
Date: Mon Sep 30 22:10:17 2013 +1300

i965: fix bogus swizzle in brw_cubemap_normalize

When used with a cube array in VS, failed assertion in ir_validate:

Assignment count of LHS write mask channels enabled not
matching RHS vector size (3 LHS, 4 RHS).

To fix this, swizzle the RHS correctly for the writemask.

This showed up in the ARB_texture_gather tests, which exercise cube
arrays in the VS.

Use libevdev as backend

Removes the need to ioctl manually and check bits, with all the dangers that
come with that. libevdev is much better prepared for invalid values, OOB
checks, etc.

Plus, we get almost free SYN_DROPPED handling as well which we didn't have
before.
