I was analyzing the bug report communicated a little bit more in detail, and I think that the bug report could be deleted.

The key details are in the file xserver-xorg.postinst (placed in directory /var/lib/dpkg/info) in the lines 722 to 728 and the line 734: The use of debconf database is disbled for newer Xorg (>= 1:7.4) and, consequently, the xorg.conf file will be not generated.

I just want to add that although under certain circunstances the system works fine with an emtpy xorg.conf file, this is a fact very dependent on the hardware.

In my job I need to work with very obsolete monitors and graphic cards, and the xorg.conf file is necessary in order to introduce tweaks to avoid misfunctions of video in obsolete hardware.

Therefore, a program like dexconf could be added to a wish list. However, the bug report could be supressed, at criteria of the package's maintainer.
