Indeed, severity should've been raised. The package migrated to testing a few
days ago and probably rendered a lot of systems unusable. Please don't be
afraid to raise the severity yourself next time. Thanks. :-)

2016-12-09 Thread Kepi
I have same problem. IMHO serverity of this bug should be raised as this
is making system unusable for people with czech locales.

There are related tickets in freedesktop's bugzilla:

  - https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=98219
  - https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=81875

There is patch which probably solves the problem in the first ticket.

locales for my system

  $ locale
  LANG=cs_CZ.UTF-8
  LANGUAGE=
  LC_CTYPE="cs_CZ.UTF-8"
  LC_NUMERIC="cs_CZ.UTF-8"
  LC_TIME="cs_CZ.UTF-8"
  LC_COLLATE="cs_CZ.UTF-8"
  LC_MONETARY="cs_CZ.UTF-8"
  LC_MESSAGES="cs_CZ.UTF-8"

  LC_ADDRESS="cs_CZ.UTF-8"
  LC_TELEPHONE="cs_CZ.UTF-8"
  LC_MEASUREMENT="cs_CZ.UTF-8"
  LC_IDENTIFICATION="cs_CZ.UTF-8"
  LC_ALL=

all locales:

  $ locale -a
  C
  cs_CZ.utf8
  C.UTF-8
  en_US.utf8
  POSIX

default lang:

  $ cat /etc/default/locale
  #  File generated by update-locale

Bug#847345: libx11-6: the locale is not supported by Xlib, continuing without locale support

2016-12-07 Thread Vaclav Ovsik
Package: libx11-6
Version: 2:1.6.4-2
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,
after upgrade from 2:1.6.3-1 to 2:1.6.4-2 the $subj warning is displayed
and I can't enter national letters into rxvt-unicode terminal.

  zito@bobek:~$ urxvt
  urxvt: the locale is not supported by Xlib, continuing without locale support.

I did downgrade back to 2:1.6.3-1 and the problem is gone.

My locale settings:

  zito@bobek:~$ cat /etc/default/locale
  LANG=en_US.UTF-8
  LC_CTYPE="cs_CZ.UTF-8"
  LC_COLLATE="C"

  zito@bobek:~$ locale -a
  C
  C.UTF-8
  POSIX
  cs_CZ
  cs_CZ.iso88592
  cs_CZ.utf8
  czech
  en_US
  en_US.iso88591
  en_US.utf8

Thanks
Cheers
