RE: [Declude.JunkMail] fresh spamdomains thread

2003-06-10 Thread John Shacklett
| Are you sure that the line in your sd.txt file is exactly
| msn.com hotmail.com (no spaces or other characters after
|hotmail.com)?
|
|Yes. I copied that line and pasted it exactly and I double checked the
|whitespace before I composed my questions.
|
|One last thing to check: Is that the last line in the sd.txt file? If so,
|try adding a blank line below it.
|
|Otherwise, it's time for the debug mode. To use the debug mode, you can
|change the LOGLEVEL LOW line in \IMail\Declude\global.cfg to LOGLEVEL
|DEBUG. Then, after an E-mail arrives like the one above, you can then
|switch back to LOGLEVEL LOW (the debug mode adds huge amounts of
|information to the log file). You can then send me the
|\IMail\spool\dec.log file (as an attachment, off this list), and I can
|take a look at it to see what is happening.

I looked through the logs for the rest of the day yesterday and for the
early morning hours this morning, and the message that failed to add the
five points for the failed SPAMHEADERS test appears to have been a fluke,
because all subsequent instances appear to have functioned correctly.

The msn.com line is not the last line in the sd.txt file. I can't find
another instance of the test misfiring in this manner either, so I'm going
to hold off on the DEBUG until I see another weird one. The majority of
failures on this test return a line like

Msg failed SPAMDOMAINS (Spamdomain 'msn.com' found: Address of
[EMAIL PROTECTED] sent from invalid [No Reverse DNS].).

which is fine, and all the rest since the message I wrote about have matched
up correctly.

Thanks, Scott. I'll keep an eye on it.

PPS: I stayed at 1.70i2 because of concerns people had raised about i3 and
i4. Has that situation been resolved?

[Declude.JunkMail] Whitelist TO or Custom Actions

2003-06-10 Thread David Sullivan
Does anyone know what would be less processor intensive for Declude;
whitelisting a TO address or setting custom actions for the TO address?

The end result for us is the same so it doesn't matter which one I do, I'd
just like to do the one that is less rescource intensive.

Thanks

-David

[Declude.JunkMail] DSN:Let it all through

Question. I have a customer who just insists on wanting all junk mail.
How do I set up a single email so anything coming to that address passes all
test. Including test that I have set to delete, such as Spam db's I have

You would use the whitelist to command in the global config file.

 Darrell

Would that work the same as making a folder in c:\imail\declude\ with the
domain name and then making a username config in there that just sets all
the tests to ignore? Am I mis-remembering that you can change settings that
way?

Would the two solutions (yours and mine) have the same exact effect?

I'm wanting anything address to @sclaw.org be delivered.
That is correct. It whitelists all E-mail to @sclaw.org, meaning that it
forces the E-mail to pass all the spam tests, so no actions will be taken
on the E-mail.
