[Declude.JunkMail] Log file errors

2005-06-22 Thread David Sullivan
I've seen these errors for years, but never bothered to ask

Does this mean my DNS server had a failure, or just that the domain it
looked up does not have MX or A records?

06/22/2005 00:39:15 Qeb72438900c4923f WARNING: DNS server 66.179.12.115
returned a SERVER FAILURE error for MX or A for fadmail.com.

[Declude.JunkMail] Something to mention about version 2.0X

2005-06-22 Thread Michael L. Hardrick
Greetings All,
Is there any projection date for the next stable release of version 2.X?
After removing our gateway mail server we had several problems with
declude and dropped back to version 1.82. Since the change our server
has been stable and we've seen no delays in mail delivery.

It seems to me that the current 2.X release has some chronic issues with
volume.
On average after 12 hours declude will stop processing mail and start
holding all email in the queue. The server will send application
pop-ups and pile about forty of them up.
[Application popup: Declude.exe - Application Error : The application
failed to initialize properly (0xc142). Click on OK to terminate the
application]

During this type, the CPU usage drops to 2%. All inbound mail is
accepted, but not processed by declude and is just sent to the queue.
After I close all the pop-ups usually a reboot of the server starts
everything up and running again.

Regards,
Mike

Not that this solves your problem, but I had the same exact issue with
2.0.6.What I found watching the logs in debug is that this is an issue
with how declude handles the overflow processing. What I seen was that
Declude under high load on the server is unable to get an accurate count on
the number of Declude.exe processes running. When this happens it will
continue to spawn Declude processes to handle the overflow until those
0xc142 errors start cropping up.

I did submit a support ticket on this and support did acknowledge this as an
issue, but up until now I have not seen any of the 2.0.6.xx betas address it
or anymore talk on it other than other users reporting it to the list.

[Declude.JunkMail] .NET and CMDSPACE test

2005-06-22 Thread Darin Cox

Anyone know how to get .NET's SMTP mail
classto not fail the CMDSPACE test?
Darin.

Re: [Declude.JunkMail] .NET and CMDSPACE test

Darin,

I believe that most if not all of Microsoft's mail clients (and likely
scripting interfaces) will fail CMDSPACE, but MS SMTP will correct the
condition for any E-mail that passes through it. So a possible work
around, and maybe a better way to handle the E-mail, would be to have
your script send the E-mail through an instance of MS SMTP, which can
be configured to relay through your IMail server if you wish.
