[Declude.JunkMail] Help New Install

2003-08-26 Thread Mike Barnett
Good morning...

This was just sent to Scott...

If someone can help me before he wakes up I would appreciate it...

Scott, hello again. We (InternetCruade) migrated from our old mail
service, and we think is is running - but we don't see anything
in the header. We initially had the host name the same as the machine
(web17.icsandiego.com) but changed it to match the old machine
(web5.icsandiego.com)

We've disabled spam notification - is there any way to tell if Declude
is actually running?

Thx
Curt

Probably your registration does not match your server name.
If declude was registered for web17.icsandiego.com, it works just on a
machine with this hostname in the imail config.

Open the DOS command prompt and type in the following:

cd c:\imail (IF you run imail in this directory)

declude.exe -diag

It should show something similar to this

Hi Mike:

In Your new server did you double click on Declude to start it?

The first time you install Declude you need to put all your files and
programs in place but you need to double click on the program for it to
install. You will not see any installation screens but once you double
click it all start working.

Regards,
Kami

Subject: New Install
Hi... I am looking for advice and tips..

I am building a new eMail box and I am going to install of Imail 8.01

We will also install Declude PRO and also Declude Virus with F-PROT

We currently have another box with the same setup except we are running
Imai 7.x
The new box will have heavy IMAP and POP usage so we have built it out
with dual Zeons and is running W2003
There are two (mirrored) sets of drives, both configured with raid 1...

One set has 2 136GB HDs which I was going to store mailboxes

One set has 2 70+GB which is going to have the spool/queue (and also
currently has the OS)...
What tips do you suggest in the setup and configuration during the new
install?
What set of drives should I put Imail on and will it affect performance?

I have seen a few issues with the Imail 8.01 and Declude regarding
conflicts SPAM filtering. Has it been determined what is the best setup?
Thanks in advance for your help.
