Re: [Declude.JunkMail] How to stop these?

2006-04-05 Thread Scott Fisher

You could use something like Message Sniffer or a URI filter like INVURIBL.

I also add weight for it the reverse dns from a dsl line.

You might also run the reverse dns against the mailpolice dynamic black
list:

MAILPOLICE-REVDNS dnsbl %REVDNS%.dynamic.rhs.mailpolice.com 127.0.0.2 0 0

Todd,

The best key on those messages is the URI that is listed in it. They are
listed in the common URIBL's. I have seen that domain being picked up for
the last couple days with our URI tool (invURIBL).

masakel . com.multi.surbl.org. 900 IN A 127.0.0.118
masakel . com.multi.uribl.com. 900 IN A 127.0.0.2

[Declude.JunkMail] How to stop second virus scan when first captures the virus.

2005-05-05 Thread David

Hey all,

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
WE are currently running 2 antivirus filters and with the huge surge of viruses
the last couple days its come to my attention that I could spare a significant amount
of CPU if I could prevent my second antivirus from running if my first AV
catches the email. We are using f-prot and mcafee. Thanks again

David,

Unfortuantly, this is not a feature. It is one that we have been asking for
as well. If we ever get this feature I know for one thing I am going to
move F-Prot to my first scanner and enable this. Mcafee while a great
scanner it is very CPU intensive.

Re: [Declude.JunkMail] How to stop second virus scan when first captures the virus.

2005-05-05 Thread Jonathan
And my name .. but my name is probably on there several places over the
past several years.

It always baffles me why this isn't already built-in - Declude spent so
much time performance tweaking etc, then they leave the most
cpu-intensive stuff wide open. It's not like it evaluates the results
from all the scanners, and makes a decision on whether or not it's a
virus or a false-positive. Back in the early days, I had a hunch they
would come out with a Pro version, and stuff like this would be in
there .. but then they did come out with a Pro, and still no dice.

*confused*

Declude JunkMail Pro plus my GIBBERISH and @LINKED filters which can be
found at http://www.mailpure.com/software/decludefilters/

The other filters might also produce hits, the FOREIGN/TLD filter set
will often add points to stuff like this, but you didn't share the headers.

Perhaps a test, that when there are 2 IPs, sees if they match?

Subject: [Declude.JunkMail] How to stop this...

Hi all,

Sorry about the subject being so generic but I was not sure how to call the
following. I have been seeing the following in the headers of
some email:

Received: from 216.220.106.24 [218.151.108.224] by
mail.heliosfunds.com

The first IP is the IP of the mail server. I am not sure how to refer to
this but is there a test in JunkMail that tests for this?

Thanks,

David
