I have heard a response from them; but only from a new comer at Declude
Never a response from Barry Simpson anymore... And from a quick look at
their contacts... Barry isn't even listed anymore.

Who I heard from was from Kristina M. O'Connell and David Barker (both of
whom are not Engineers and indicated so); but were very helpful into
understanding the Declude company and their search of engineers.

RE: [Declude.JunkMail] No action taken

2006-06-07 Thread Erik
I have heard a response from them; but only from a new comer at Declude
Never a response from Barry Simpson anymore... And from a quick look at
their contacts... Barry isn't even listed anymore.

Who I heard from was from Kristina M. O'Connell and David Barker (both of
whom are not Engineers and indicated so); but were very helpful into
understanding the Declude company and their search of engineers.

Doesn't seem like it. I haven't seen a response from them to the list, and
I also CC'd [EMAIL PROTECTED] with no response.

Anyone had any contact with the company lately?

Darin.

Re: [Declude.JunkMail] No action taken

2006-06-07 Thread Matt

David,

The cause of the problem is having an invalid character in the Mail
From. Declude is clearly barfing on this data because it doesn't know
how to react to it.

The fix is simple...only allow valid characters in the Mail From when
you read it from the spool file. If you come across an invalid
character, replace the entire Mail From before processing it further
with Declude. So for instance "my(invalid-character)[EMAIL PROTECTED]"
should be replaced with something like "[EMAIL PROTECTED]", which
is fully qualified and filterable...no more error. The fix should take
minutes. Here's a list of valid 7-bit ASCII printable characters":

   !"#$%'()*+,-./0123456789:;=?
@ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ[\]^_
`abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz{|}~

I believe the only invalid characters in the user or domain portion of
the Mail From are @, and .

I would also like to note that IMail and SmarterMail shouldn't be
accepting these invalid characters either.

Matt

Currently investigating the problem. Again it is a high priority and we will
notify you as soon as we have found the cause of the problem.

I was noticing the other day on some version of 4.x that bounce messages for
a domain that should have been using the settings in my $Default$.JunkMail
failed to take those actions. Typically I do per-domain configs, but a few
I just have using my $Default$.JunkMail. I noticed this as soon as I
upgraded to 4.x, and I'm pretty sure it is a bug. I am not sure if it only
affects bounce messages or all messages for those domains (note that all of
my domains are gatewayed from the Declude box so they may be treated
differently from locally hosted E-mail.

I believe that putting the actions in your Global.cfg would take action on
this stuff. Global.cfg is meant for outgoing E-mail actions. While this
was clearly incoming E-mail and not the way things used to work with 2.x and
before, I'm pretty sure that this will take care of the issue.

When I get some time to look into this further I'll probably report the bug
to Declude. I'm pretty sure that I have seen several other such posts that
might have been caused by this change in behavior.

John,

I apologize for the delay, I'd like to expedite this issue on behalf of you
and all customers. I know you sent a good sample to support, but could you
send that and any other information that would assist Engineering in
pinpointing the specific problem.

I sent a good sample to support, but like most of my questions and

I'm seeing the same thing. However the headers show all of the tests failed
and the score - well above my delete weight.

This morning I'm seeing a flood of stock spam with scores that are more than
double my delete weight getting through with no action taken. I'm looking
at one right now with a score of 67, and in my scheme we delete at 30.

2006-06-05 Thread Scott Fisher
I have reported a bug where inbound-email does process using the outbound
headers.
In other words, inbound email is getting the XOUTHEADERs added instead of
the XINHEADERs.

They are probably the same bug.

Ticket#: [1F3-0BB15CAA-04BF].

It started for me with version 3.0.6.4 and continues sporadically through
3.1.x.
