Run 1.78i8 or higher.

Use BANEXT EZIP to ban encrypted zips
or
Use (pro only) BANEZIPEXTS ON to ban the extensions listed with BANEXT lines in
encrypted zip files.
You may also want to BANZIPEXTS ON to ban executables in normal zip files.

My F-Prot or AVG did not catch the Bagle.J that comes in encrypted zip files.

Re: [Declude.Virus] W32.Beagle.J@mm cannot be caught

2004-03-09 Thread Adrian Hauri
Please read the old posts about this problem.

Short Summary:
Antivirus programs and declude can't open password protected zip files
(F-Prot, McAfee, AVG) unless they try to find a password within the email
and use this to unlock the zip file (Kapersky). Some Virus scanners block
password protected zip files in general and declare them as a Virus
(Symantec/Norton AV) even they couldn't scan within the zip file.

Scott added the feature BANEXT EZIP in the interim release = i8 to block
all password protected zip files on the server with declude.

Interim release http://www.declude.com/interim .

(I would recommend you to install a second AV because it took F-Prot too
long to update their definitions the last few month)

Adrian

[Declude.Virus] declude with mcafee virus scan 8

2004-03-09 Thread Venkateswarlu Swarna
Hi All,

We have Imail 8.05, declude standard v1.75 and recently we have got mcafee
virus scan8. In combination with declude and virus scan 8 on demand scanning
is working fine. We have more than 20,000 users in single domain. In mcafee
virus scan 8 (Active shield) we don't have option to exclude users and Imail
spool folders. Each time user access his mail box mcafee active shield is
scanning mailbox for virus, due to this mail server response has degraded
drastically.
Mcafee support person said that earlier versions are having exclusion
option, but virus scan8 is not having that option.
Please suggest me how to go about this and improve mail server performance.

Also - f-prot 3.14b is the current version. It's an important upgrade if I
recall correctly.
