Re: [Declude.Virus] Declude Failed To Initialize Properly

This is getting ridiculous, does anyone have a copy of an older version of
Declude, like 1.82 . We may as well take it out of the loop, it's causing to
much of a problem.

Has anyone had this message box pop up on their server and if so has
anyone found a workaround for the problem ?

The application failed to intialize properly (0xc142). Click on OK to
 terminate
 the application.

Running Imail 8.20 - 2005.04.12.23 with hotfix 2 and the latest beta of
Declude 2.0.6.16 and had 2.0.6 but it did the same thing.

Running 700mhz Pentium III with 384Megs, plenty of drive space and do not
 receive that much email.

I'm trying to play with the queue manager, but haven't found a combination
 yet that stops this problem.

Thanks and praise for a fix, it's driving me insane.

RE: [Declude.Virus] Sobig- Phase II bombardment

Exactly, if the servers are known, why doesn't the upstream providers be pro-active

No only that - but what's this web address that will be updated.

If it's an IP - then it should be easy to contact the upstream provider.

If it's a FQDN - then it should be easy for the registrar to lock this
particular domain against updates

I don't see why this is supposedly so difficult to accomplish?

I couldn't use the Qmanager cache. It gave delivery failures.
Apparently it may have been a coincident or just me as others seem not
to have had the problem. But I turned it off and everything began
working fine for me.

Ok don't know about the 700 emails, but I think I have found the problem with the
slowness of the server. Now this is strange. I found in one of my hosted virtual

out ( have no idea of why it was in there, but I know the address ) and everything

[Declude.Virus] Can't Describe in Subject Line

2003-02-14 Thread Avolve Support
I regularly use the webbased email method of Imail. Here within the past few days I've
gotten email from a list or two which when clicked on comes up with a The page cannot
be displayed error and it's home page is s: ( Open the s: home page ).

Now in the past this has been some sort of klez virus or something and so I went to
declude and sent me a virus to make sure it is being caught, and it was caught.

I can't get to the email unless I use an email program instead of the webbased method,
to really view it easily.

Next thing is the subject line of this particular email was Am, I being hacked. Eje,
you see this ?

I just got declude PRO (1.53) plus f-prot (3.12a)
virus definitions as for May 27, 2002

I started testing them.

eicar files are caught (almost all of them...not all of them).

I tried out with a real virus. The Klez.H@mn and f-prot/declude didn't
detect it
ONACCESS was OFF and there was no BAN to scr files

with that configuration, the virus get trough and it is only detected by my
personal NAV in my client machine.

if ONACCESS is ON, the virus is caught but Declude/F-Prot doesn't identify
it. it just says that it found and caught an unknown virus.

What are the recommended settings to caught Klez.H@mn virus or Klez type
viruses.

Should I leave ONACCESS ON or OFF or I just have to ban any .scr files.

thanks for your help...

  Jerry,
Hey what would be the best database to use for this setup? 300users
about 10k messages aday. I was thinking either Imail DB or SQL. I am
  dropping using AD.

Performance shouldn't be an issue with any of them. Whatever is the best
fit for your interoperability issues should be fine.

One note on the imail db, it's not a black hole like some folks treat it.
It's easy enough to verify a password with any code snippet can do a pop3
logon. A direct registry lookup works as well, but is not as netork
 friendly.

 Jerry
