Re: [Declude.Virus] F-Prot 3.14e 32 bit version settings
Has there been a conclusion as to what the command line should be for fpcmd.exe? Our recommended settings are the same as before, as they should catch any known virus. Unless we have reason to believe that some of the new options have a good chance of catching new viruses *and* that they are very unlikely to catch legitimate mail, we probably won't change our recommendation. That being said, there are certainly a lot of our customers who feel better having the new options enabled. So if you are comfortable knowing that there is a chance that legitimate E-mails may get caught (probably only if they have an attachment), you should feel free to use those options. -Scott --- Declude JunkMail: The advanced anti-spam solution for IMail mailservers since 2000. RE: [Declude.Virus] F-Prot 3.14e 32 bit version settings
I did some testing this weekend (trying to isolate the error 8 in virus scanner), and when I would run the fpcmd agains a known virus in the spool/virus directory, the /server switch was used regardless of it being in the command line. By the way, we still get the error 8 in Virus scanner 1. This happens because the new f-prot does not report the EZIP viruses properly. It only states that it could be harmful. It does however quarantine the message anyway though. Jason -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of R. What are the recommended settings for 3.14e? We haven't yet changed our recommended settings for F-Prot. We just don't have enough information yet -- we don't know what kind of false positives may result from any changes. -Scott --- Declude JunkMail: The advanced anti-spam solution for IMail mailservers since 2000. RE: [Declude.Virus] F-prot 3.14e
I am running it locally on W2K Pro without rebooting and did get some error recently but was with the On demand Scanner which is not used. But it clearly stated reboot required. I will test on W2K Server and will soon know.
