Re: [libreoffice-design] Landscape, Portrait mode icons

2012-03-18 Thread Andrew Pullins
I like the pages of Ivan's icons but I like how Mirik's icons show
the previous orientation and the arrow to the next orientation.

 Hi everyone,
Another week's over and there's another set of icons to discuss -- namely
the Landscape Mode and Portrait Mode icons [1].
There are two proposals this week. Please reply with likes and dislikes
about both, the icons will be modified accordingly.

This week's call for proposals uses the symbol for text, so I'd like to get
this issue closed as soon as possible.
If we agree, though, we could move this week's call for proposals up to
next week and have a different topic for this week.
Ivan, you're the only one who submitted something so far -- what do you
think?

Hi,

Sure, that sounds good. #libreoffice on freenode, alright?

I think it would be useful if we would meet on IRC or G+ to discuss this
and clear up stuff with less delays. When do you have some time?

Sorry, I meant to answer this earlier, but wasn't sure when I would have
some time.
I'm free for most of tomorrow -- do you want to chat then? Let's say at 13h
(1 PM) GMT (make sure to convert this to your time zone).
Embarrassingly, I haven't used IRC yet, but I expect it to be
straight-forward.

You're right. We can take this week to solve the pending proposals -- of
four calls only one proposal was approved.

Now back to the icons, even though lowercase a looks pretty good, we have
to use universal symbology, and uppercase A is the default symbol for
text.

[libreoffice-design] LibreOffice Design team IRC chat

2012-03-18 Thread Mirek M.
Hi everyone,
I've had a conversation with Alexander Wilms on IRC today and we've decided
that it would be productive if the whole Design team could meet on the IRC
to discuss relevant LibreOffice UI/design topics. We could start with the
color picker this week, as it's been a long-discussed issue and it's on the
list of GSoC projects. I've started a whiteboard for the issue [1] -- feel
free to add your mockups and proposals. If you have other topics for
discussion, bring them up.
I've also started a Doodle poll [2] to determine when everyone would have
time for the IRC chat, so please head over there to check the times you'd
be available (they're in GMT, as people on this list come from different
time zones). It starts with this Thursday, so that people have enough time
to vote and to think about the topic.
