[libreoffice-design] RAM management of Protected documents?
Dear all, Nice to meet you all as i have just joined the list. My name is Stefanos Malliaros and i am a Phd Researcher in Information Security and at the moment my field of study is live Forensics. That is, i examine the data that exist in RAM while an application is running and when the application is terminated. I have to admit that regarding the password protected documents you have done a very good work, I have found out that when i open a document and i enter the password to unlock it i cannot find the password i entered inside the RAM at all. To capture the RAM i am using vrtual machines and freeze them so as to be able to copy the data from RAM without alteration. Could you please describe me briefly how do you do it? For example do you copy the string to a buffer and then perform operations and then free the buffer? (e.g. malloc command from C language) Thanks in advance and i'm looking forward for your prompt reply -- To unsubscribe e-mail to: design+unsubscr...@global.libreoffice.org Problems? http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/mailing-lists/how-to-unsubscribe/ Posting guidelines + more: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Netiquette List archive: http://listarchives.libreoffice.org/global/design/ All messages sent to this list will be publicly archived and cannot be deleted

But that is not what is currently happening. Actually there seems to be a bug (in the Master branch) where the icons representing the modules in the Start Center are _always_ the large Breeze buttons (regardless of the icon style selected in Options) when you open the application. However if you open or create any document from the Start Center and then close the document, the icons in the Start Center will switch to those included in the icon style (obviously this is not noticeable if the icon style selected is Breeze). Shouldn't the icons in the Start Center always be the TDF/LibreOffice official icons regardless of the icon theme? This is obviously not a Design problem (more of a UX issue probably) Is this a known issue? Should I open a Bug report? -- View this message in context: http://nabble.documentfoundation.org/Breeze-Icons-tp4145012p4145242.html Sent from the Design mailing list archive at Nabble.com. -- To unsubscribe e-mail to: design+unsubscr...@global.libreoffice.org Problems? http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/mailing-lists/how-to-unsubscribe/ Posting guidelines + more: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Netiquette List archive: http://listarchives.libreoffice.org/global/design/ All messages sent to this list will be publicly archived and cannot be deleted

So here are my three proposals and the starting point for collecting all other proposals: https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Events/2015/LibreOffice_Annual_Conference/Presentation_Template#Proposals There has been no other submissions than yours. What do you prefer now: First I would discuss them a little bit to make them better. Cor gave me some hints which I would work in. - you choose one of your templates to be the one used That's no community choice if I only choose the one :-) Both Breeze have their advantages. And I prefer the Breeze because of being new in 4.5. - speaker can choose one of the three at its convenience I wouldn't do that. We should give them one. - the design team choose one of them It's my favorite (including the marketing team). Cor gave me a wave for Breeze-2 - Or the Conference team choose (or even prefer) one. -- Grüße k-j Member of TheDocumentFoundation http://www.documentfoundation.org/foundation/members/ http://de.libreoffice.org http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/ -- To unsubscribe e-mail to: design+unsubscr...@global.libreoffice.org Problems? http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/mailing-lists/how-to-unsubscribe/ Posting guidelines + more: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Netiquette List archive: http://listarchives.libreoffice.org/global/design/ All messages sent to this list will be publicly archived and cannot be deleted
Re: [libreoffice-design] Re: Breeze Icons
The Breeze icons that represent each of the modules of Libre Office (Writer, Calc, Impress) should respect the Libre Office branding and identity for those modules. They are easily identifiable but they do not respect the LO identity and should be Breeze representations of the current LO icons and not something different.
