[libreoffice-design] StartCenter - filter MRU document thumbnails to show items for just one component

2014-07-27 Thread V Stuart Foote [via Document Foundation Mail Archive]
Folks,

Tabs for each LibreOffice component on the StartCenter panel were rejected
during the design process as aesthetically undesirable.

However, as suggested by Jay Philips in fdo#80934 comment 3
<https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=80934#c3> a capability to
filter the displayed most recently used (MRU) document thumbnails to just
one LO component would be a good UI enhancement.

While a mouse over event trigger on hovering would work well for most
users, would also need to provide keyboard accelerator for AT tools support,
and other users that are are keyboard centric.

fdo#61174 <https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=61174> remains
open for UX enhancements to the recent file list (File --> Recent
Documents), but this GUI enhancement to the StartCenter seems a very
reasonable goal, if its implementation in GTK+ UI is feasible.

Stuart

Again a new thing? Isn't a good idea first to establish the group and
afterwords make the different choices?!

And can anyone explain me OpenUsability? Is it a collaberative tool that
Designers and Developer can work together?

Re: [libreoffice-design] MimeType icons: More time for improvements...

2011-01-23 Thread mail
Hey Paulo,

they look grate :) It's only that I see on Base Icons another Shiny rounded
glow. Which is not on all. On draw you have a linear glow. Impress has no
glow at all, but this awesome outstanding look (My Favorite). Writer has no
glow at all, but you made some nice details on the image.

I think in comparison to the rest is a little bit too much details. But I'm
for letting the details stay and add some little touches (don't ask me
which) so the Icons will have the same amount of "details" (Yes even in a
smaller version you can add some details to de Base 128version - this shiny
thing.)
