No, that's fine ... although it might be announced to the speakers (via
mailing list, blog, or directly?)

Next, the template proposal wiki page should be cleaned up a bit - any
objections if I create a whiteboard wiki page (marketing material?)
and move the existing works there. There, we could work on other
presentation templates - e.g. for general use.

 Sure, thanks!

Okay, so I found some things a bit messy ... that's what I did:

I created a dedicated LibreOffice Conference 2011 resources page that
contains the logo and the presentation template:
http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Marketing/SpecialEvents/LibreOffice_Conference_2011_Paris

Linked it to a Special Events section on the marketing page:
http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Marketing#Special_Events

Moved both the logo and the presentation template wiki pages below our
Design Whiteboards (Past Topics) page, after having them cleaned up a
bit:
http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Design/Whiteboard#Past_Topics

Thus, we may now simply refer to the first wiki page - it should work
okay for most cases, since it omits any less needed information.

Cheers,
Christoph

Hey, enjoy your vacation :-) Maybe you've missed one of Drew's last
mails - he said just use Christoph's file, it works (a bit
oversimplified, since he made a thoughtful statement, see [1])

Personally, I really think that it will work well and that it balances

Hopefully so - but meanwhile, I pushed a little update to the wiki -

Just uploaded a resh update -

  http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/File:Bachianas_Brasileiras_No1_-_Green_Theme_Conf2011.odp

Took the wallpaper image and air brushed out the standard logo, added
back the conference logo - little change to crop on the title page.

Added a new master page w/no green bar at the top.

Sprinkled a bit more of the motif.

Adjusted the placement of the smaller page logo to account for pageInfo
fields, which are now turned on for a few of the pages.

That's it for now.. I suppose I should push the individual graphic files
up to the wiki also, in a zip I suppose - you never know maybe the
application could lose track of one of the graphic files in a
presentation... agh..

Re: [libreoffice-design] Re: [tdf-discuss] A template for the LibreOffice Conference

2011-07-30 Thread Andrew Pullins
I really like Drew's template it in nice and clean.

Does any one know whether this conference will be put up on youtube or the
LibreOffice and or Document Foundation web site so that those who can
not attend can know whats going on. I really liked this video that I found
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Olx3EvJMl0.

just wondering.

2011-07-29 Thread Kévin PEIGNOT
Hy,

Here is a first (very FIRST) proposal :
http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/ConferenceTemplates

I'm not a good Impress user, nor a good English speaker, so I'm sure there
are lot of wrong things. Feel free to modify it, it's the GOAL of a FIRST
draft. SO what do you think of that ? (try it full screen obviously)

Kévin

I am very serious about that :-) but it does not imply we should not
  take
accessibility into account. We've been using a common presentation

Nah, at least the conferences I did attend did not enforce it, at
least I have been in talks that used different templates -
independent-community-members usually used the OOo-Con template, but
company people used their company's branded versions.

So I myself would also go from enforcing to strongly suggesting to
use them / asking people to use them.

Strongly suggesting / enforcing: all sounds good to me we won't be
 whipping
anyone if he/she fails to show up with a presentation using the template
anyway. But to get back to the point: the contest is launched, please be
  creative! :)

So it's been 3 days, and no proposals yet. Should I get worried or do
 people
simply not care about this at all?

 Charles.
