[Bug 34562] goom visualization is not selected on default install - so no visualiation
Public bug reported: https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/34562 Affects: totem totem-gstreamer (Ubuntu) Severity: Normal Priority: (none set) Status: Unconfirmed Description: Just installed flight 5, and by default goom is not used when playing an audio file, makes for playing that new example OGG a bit boring! In addition its quite ugly as the window never gets redrawn and menus hang around underneath, etc! If you select goom and restart totem its fine, so I figure its just a broken gconf schema. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 34562] goom visualization is not selected on default install - so no visualiation
Public bug report changed: https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/34562 Comment: I can confirm these problems. Personally I always switch off the visualization, so it's actually a good thing that it's not there by default. And I also get the menus that never get redrawn problem. [Bug 34603] Clock can't display international date format
Public bug reported: https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/34603 Affects: gnome-panel (Ubuntu) Severity: Normal Priority: (none set) Status: Unconfirmed Description: Clock applet does not show international ISO-6801 date format, even though EN_DK locale English (Danish) is enabled. Instead, the clock still shows the US date Sun Mar 12, 16:49. It should show 2006-03-12 16:49. Most users like to use English user interface, but not US units and dates. Instead, most of the world uses the metric system (SI-system) and will probably be adopting ISO-8601 dates (like 2006-03-12 16:39). Suggestion: - make Clock (gnome-panel) respect EN_DK locale and - add ISO-8601 format to Clock:Preferences (it already has 24h option for time) I am using Ubuntu 5.10 Breezy with gnome-panel 2.12.1-0ubuntu. I think Spreadsheet is a functional term. The function of a spreadsheet application is to make a spreadsheet, which is a term well known to accounting, finance and manageral people. [Bug 34615] Keys on multimedia keyboard do not control volume of rear speakers.
Public bug reported: https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/34615 Affects: gnome-applets (Ubuntu) Severity: Normal Priority: (none set) Status: Unconfirmed Description: Volume keys on my multimedia keyboard seem to control only Master track in ALSA, so for example, when I press mute key, only front speakers are silenced, while rear speakers play at the same volume. Contrary to its name, Master track controls volume of only front speakers; PCM controls volume of all speakers. Volume Control applet also controls Master by default, but its possible to change it in its preferences. In my opinion multimedia keys should control ALSA track set in preferences of Volume Control applet and it should be PCM by default. Also in ALSA: Master should be renamed to Front, Surround to Rear and PCM to Master - it appears that current names are confusing not only for users, but also for developers. Unfortunately it requirers acceptance and cooperation with upstream ALSA developers. This is also bug #13151. Hardware: - Logitech multimedia keyboard (its name varies from region to region - it is the one that comes with MX700 mouse; I am using Logitech Cordless Desktop Pro model in keyboard layout controls); - nVidia nForce2 SoundStorm (on Abit NF7-S); - Creative Inspire 5300 5.1 analog speakers. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
