[Bug 37448] Stopped recognising MIME types by file content
Public bug reported: Affects: nautilus (Ubuntu) Severity: Normal Priority: (none set) Status: Unconfirmed Description: In warty (and possibly hoary), when I had a file without an extension, nautilus would look inside the file to determine its MIME type, and launch the appropriate application to view it when doubleclicked. In breezy, this is not the case anymore. If I have (for example) a PDF or PostScript file without an extension, its type doesn't seem to get detected. [Bug 34446] Re: Suggestion: ship breezy human theme
I dont think that another theme should be shipped - choice is great, but the the main aspect of default is that you cant choose. And if you think of a user which is able to go to the preferences and switch back to classic, you can also say that he will be able to do the last step of going to art.gnome.org or something to get the theme he likes. so putting ubuntu-classic there or in the repositories should be enough IMO. -- Suggestion: ship breezy human theme https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/34446 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

Thanks for your suggestion, but the amount of existing icons is high enough already. http://daniel.holba.ch/ubuntu/ic/ might give you an idea. [Bug 37494] Orange is nice, but icons are alarmingly BRIGHT
Public bug reported: Affects: ubuntu-artwork (Ubuntu) Severity: Normal Priority: (none set) Status: Unconfirmed Description: The orange theme is happy, and has really improved in the last weeks. Nice. The icons, however, are just *screaming* at me. They feel like hurry-up traffic-lights! Especially the ones with a special label, like your homefolder, an ssh-share, etcetera. The orange tone is just very hard. This also goes for progress-bars, which should be informing, not alarming. The selection tone, on the other hand, is subtle (and is allowed to draw more attention). The metacity-top is not distracting, nice. This is also mentioned in other bugs (although that's not what they're mainly about): https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-artwork/+bug/34796 https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-artwork/+bug/34400/ I suggest making the orange a bit gentler, especially the bottom part of the folder icons. For example, make it more like the savedSearch icon in the screenshot below. Also, the label for ssh-shares and ftp-shares doesn't match the label for ogg-stuff etcetera. It could be just as well a label in another color, to make the icons match the others, and still *subtly* stand out. ** Attachment added: this explains it pretty well http://librarian.launchpad.net/1902725/orange-icons.png -- Orange is nice, but icons are alarmingly BRIGHT https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/37494 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 26380] Re: evolution-exchange-storage crashes constantly
Lol, sorry guys. Apparently when I refreshed my browser it was reposting what I put up last time. [Bug 37487] sound events broken
Public bug reported: Affects: control-center (Ubuntu) Severity: Normal Priority: (none set) Status: Confirmed Description: Something is wrong with the Sound Preferences dialog window. I don't know if it's caused by a single bug. (1)The names of the sounds in the system sounds section don't match the sounds. For example, the Beep and the Clink both sound the same, the Siren doesn't sound like a siren, etc. (2) the settings in this dialog window are ignored. For example, the log in sound is set to no sound but the default sound is still played every on log in. Also, when I choose System-Preferences-Sound, a window with a warning title appears briefly before the Sound Preferences window appears. I'm using dapper.
