[Bug 44101] Re: [Dapper] gnome-sound-properties always defaults to first card
I am also experiencing the same problem with gnome-sound-properties (not retaining) my default soundcard preference. The same existed in breezy which never got resolved by a bugfix. I had to set snd-emu10k1 to index=0 in /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base to get it to be default (card 0) , and snd-cmipci to index=1 for second soundcard. This dosn't seem to work anymore in Dapper though. There should be a dependable way to force these preferences - like setting soundcard-name=index=0 in ./asoundrc or /etc/asound.conf This is a serious issue to me not a trivial one. I have to turn off the cmipci sound on the soyo MB in bios to fix it now , and I Need that second sound card for my audio recording work. -- [Dapper] gnome-sound-properties always defaults to first card https://launchpad.net/bugs/44101 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 7839] Re: Ubuntu bug reporting tools need to point to Ubuntu bug systems
I too express disbelif that reportbug still is not integrated into the rest of the Ubuntu bug reporting infrastructure. I've come to expect now, that it never will. Whilst reportbug is useless for reporting bugs to Ubuntu, it is extremely useful for peole like myself that provide 3rd party Ubuntu repositories. Should you run reportbug on one of my packages, it actually works, and sends the email to an adress that is monitored for bugs on a daily basis. Removal of reportbug, would castarate my bug reporting system, because Ubuntu appears to rather work on something else. Whilst I'd rather see reportbug fixed - It could be set up to end email to a specifc address for bugs rather then the mailing list. -- Ubuntu bug reporting tools need to point to Ubuntu bug systems https://launchpad.net/bugs/7839 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 50783] Re: Gnumeric About box does not appear
The about box works for me (but on a i386 architecture). If you run gnumerics from the command line, then try to select the about menu option, do you get any error that could explain your problem? (for reference, when I do that, I get a series of x_order_2: colinear! warnings in my xterm) -- Gnumeric About box does not appear https://launchpad.net/bugs/50783 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
